silence. that's all there is despite the number of people present in the room. their attention shifts to the police superintendent who opens the door of the room, entering with the man they all were waiting for. his hands are locked with the metall cuffs and he's dressed in a prisoner's attire.
the boys have their eyes on the man, throwing daggers as he makes his way to the middle of the room. the policeman pushes him forward, "sir," he nods his head towards jimin, who steps ahead and gestures his hand for the officer to let go of the man.
"manager seong," jimin purrs, "what did you think? that i'll let you go after what you've done? all these years of trust and respect, you choose to end it like this?"
seong keeps mum and jimin's gaze hardens. he steps closer, leaning forward as his palms rest on the surface of the table, head tilted slightly at angle, "she saw you as a close family friend, a wellwisher, but you, seong byungin proved her wrong. was it fun?" jimin grits out, grasping the man's collar harshly, "was it fun when she cried? when she told you stop? when she hoped for someone to come and save her? was it that fun to have a child begging you like that?!"
a hard punch lands on seong's face, jerking his head to the side. jimin's breathing can be heard in the room as he grabs the man's hair, making look in the front, "it's aera's birthday today, she was supposed to be cutting a cake, opening gifts, or fuck! doing literally anything that she wants! but you know what she's doing instead? crying. because your filthy ass couldn't keep it in your pants!"
seong groans with another punch as jimin pushes him back, hovering on him and continues hitting, remember all the tears his sister cried because of this monster. everytime she woke up at night. everytime she couldn't look at herself. everytime she stuttered speaking. every bruise on her body and all the trauma this man put aera through.
"you deserve to burn in hell" jimin grits out in a heavy voice, panting, his hands leave the man letting his head collide with the concrete floor.
jimin doesn't mind the splits on his knuckles and throws one last punch on seong's face, before standing up and kicking him harshly, leaving him to groan loudly with his bleeding nose and mouth, and the split near his eye.
"jimin" jin calls softly, placing his hand on the brother's shoulder as he noticed the tears in his eyes.
"take him," yoongi orders, "and make sure he suffers for what he did. our lawyer will be here, if you need him for any legal procedures."
"sure, sir" the commissioner nods, "lock him up" he orders his men who instantly drag the rapist out of the room, ignoring his aching grunts.
"thank you," namjoon smiles a little at the commissioner.
"no problem sir, it's our job. people like him belong behind the bars."
the boys agreed, nodding at the officer's words before taking their leave. jimin released a breath, seating himself in the car and closes his eyes, "jimin, don't worry, he'll face the consequences now."
"yeah..." jimin says weakly, turning to face the eldest. a tear drops from his and he leans in, hugging him tightly. jin sighs and smiles a little, rubbing jimin's back for he knew jimin was having a hard time holding himself together for his sister all this while.
"everything is okay, jimin" jin whispers lovingly.
"hyung... i was so- so scared and angry and frustrated, everything, i couldn't even tell anyone what i was feeling. y'know when i saw aera, i felt so bad, she was hurting and i couldn't do anything to lessen that, it just felt like i was hurting with her as well. whenever she cried, i felt like crying too..."
the boys said nothing, just listened to him, having tears filling their eyes too, on seeing jimin finally letting his bottled up thoughts out to his hyungs.
"shh" jin rubs his back, "you're very strong that you could be your siblings' strength at a time like this. y'know why both of them were still a bit hopeful? because you're their brother, they know that you, jimin, won't let anything wrong happen to them."
"exactly" yoongi adds, "even if it's a bit tough for you, you still manage everything jimin without showing that you're actually breaking sometimes."
jimin looks down, nodding, "because if they see me like this, who will comfort them?"
"that's why we said it, you're very strong." hoseok smiles softly at him, ruffling his hair.
jimin breathes deeply, wiping his tears and looks in the mirror, making sure he doesn't look like a crying mess from a few minutes ago as Yoongi pulls the car in front of their house.
"don't worry, okay?" jin pats jimin's shoulder, getting a brief smile in response.
"we're ba-" hoseok stops in his track, breaking into a fond smile on seeing the youngers on the couch, lights switched off and a lot of snacks on the coffee table and around them, while a disney movie is playing on the television screen.
jimin smiles at aera who is sitting between jungkook's legs, digging in her tub of chocolate sundae while jungkook and taehyung are busy munching on pop corns, having their eyes pinned on the tv even though disney is not really their taste.
"oh my god! i thought he was nice!" taehyung gasps.
"hah! i told you he was a witch!"
"it's wizard dude." jungkook rolls his eyes at the elder's comment, however the two fell silent hearing a soft sound of laughter from aera.
the boys exchange glances, happy and relieved at the same time, hearing the kid laughing after what felt like an eternity to their ears. jungkook smiles widely, leaning down and gasps, pretending to be offended, "are you laughing at me?"
"obviously, you don't know the difference between a witch and a wizard." taehyung laughs as well, bumping fists with aera who smiled at him.
"my ice cream is- is over"
"you ate it all?" jungkook stares at her, "how much space is there inside your little tummy?"
"can i take yours?" she asks, eventually holding his cup of ice cream, to which he shakes his head.
"no, it's mine."
"share?"
"okay, but just a little bit."
"god, these two" yoongi lets out an airy chuckle, stepping in after jimin, making their way further in the living room, now grabbing attention from the three.
"hey" jimin smiles softly, taking a seat next to jungkook, "what are you doing?"
"movie" aera gestures her hand towards the tv. while jungkook feeds her a spoonful of his ice cream. she turns to face the elders, gasping as she says, "my cake... oppa let's cut the cake"
"yeah, sure" the boys smile at her.
taehyung hops on his feet, disappearing into the kitchen and comes back with the cake in his hands and a smile on his face. aera repositions herself on the couch, getting up from her brother's lap, ready to take her birthday cake.
"happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday dear aera,
happy birthday to you"
jimin holds his tears in, watching aera blowing the candle and glanced at him. with a smile on his lips, he nods encouraging her to make a wish which she forgot to do earlier. her eyes look down again, eyelids closing and she brings her hands closer in front of her, lacing her fingers together.
her lips move into an inaudible wish before she quickly opens her eyes again, "happy birthday, princess" she looks up at jimin, nodding as a thank you and picks up a strawberry from the cake, holding it in front of his mouth. the brother leans in, taking a small bite and guides her back to her mouth, feeding the half of the strawberry to aera.
"what did you wish for?" hoseok asks.
aera glances at him, while at the same time focusing on feeding jungkook and taehyung too, "a more happier birthday next time"
"my child" jimin breathes out, pulling her into a hug, "you'll have the happiest birthday, kiddo. i'm so sorry for what happened this time."
"don't be sorry," she mumbles on his shoulder, "it's not y-your fault oppa... i'm okay, don't be sad."
"i'm not sad, don't worry about me." he pats her head assuringly.
"y'know aera, we went to the police station today." yoongi states, "they found seong, and he's in jail now."
"j-jail?"
"yes," jin adds, "people who commit such crimes deserve a severe punishment. nobody has the right to hurt and abuse anyone, physically or mentally. he did something wrong, and he'll face the consequences for that."
aera nods slowly, looking down at her lap. jimin sighs softly, holding her hand and instantly regrets it, as aera lets out a gasp on seeing the cuts that are dried on his knuckles.
"oppa your hand..."
"ah it's nothing," he shrugs, "should we take ri out for a drive?"
"no... how'd you get hurt?"
"it's not that bad, baby, i'm okay." he says, pulling his hand back, but stops eventually as the sister holds it more firmly and glances at him once.
"it hurts?"
"no, it's fine" he says, smiling to make her believe that it actually doesn't hurt him even a bit. in fact he wouldn't mind having more of them if it means his sister's safety.
"you lying" aera shakes her head, and looks at jin, "oppa, please get the f-first aid"
"yeah, sure"
"it's bad to fight," aera says, "you scold me for- for getting into fights, but you get into fights."
jungkook and the boys chuckle softly, at their youngest being the eldest. jimin looks down, nodding slowly and sighs, "sorry, i should be careful."
"mm it's okay"
jimin glances at jin, chuckling at aera's acting as she imitates how jimin does when she gets into a fight and gets hurt. after a while of struggling an wincing, the girl finally keeps the first aid box aside, satisfied after treating her brother's hand. she gently wraps a bandage and kisses the top of it, making him break into a smile almost instantly and pull her in his lap for a hug, being careful about the bruises as they still hurted.
"thank you so much, i feel a lot better."
"because i kissed it better"
"yeah, my princess has magic" aera smiles softly feeling his lips on her forehead.
"let's go and sleep" she says, "my head still hurts a- a little bit"
"okay, but you've to take the medicine first"
aera nods slowly, knowing that she cannot escape taking her meds. she kisses jungkook's cheek quickly and tugs on jimin's hand, gesturing him to go upstairs and sleep.
"i'll get some ice packs" jimin says, "you can go first,"
the girl stalls upstairs, and jimin follows soon after, holding a few cold packs in his hands and her medicines. it's almost the same everytime of the day: put the ice packs on the bruises, take medicines, feel tired and try to fall asleep.
"close your eyes, kiddo" jimin chuckles, patting her back gently.
"love you oppa" aera mumbles, "thank you, you-you're a super hero... my super hero"
"oppa loves you more," he smiles down at her, watching her eyelids closing slowly, he whispers, "always keep smiling, and be happy"

1. the requests for an update. yes i got many requests saying that they cannot wait for the last part of the monster series.
2. i have a question for you.
as already mentioned on my message board i was thinking if i should publish another book or not? it's a park jimin ff, no smut (relax). it's actually about how he struggles with his personal life and professional life which leads to many problems for him and bts as well.
if i publish this, i want you guys to know that the updates will be slow, as i'm still working on it, the chapters, editing and everything. also my school takes a lot of time so. i hope you understand. and please let me know what you think.
