After a big win at the Battle Tower, our heroes are at the pokemon center, Ash training his pokemon, one of Ash's Snorunt, Makuhita, Meditite, two Clamperls, Shelgon, and Metang evolve into Glalie, Hariyama, Medicham, Gorebyss, Huntail, Salamance, and Metagross, Ash scanning the pokemon.

A Glalie has the power to instantaneously freeze moisture in the atmosphere. A dazzling cloud of diamondlike ice crystals forms around its body.

By evolving into Salamence, this Pokémon finally realizes its long-held dream of growing wings. To express its joy, it flies and wheels all over the sky while spouting flames from its mouth.

This Metagross is level 82 and knows the moves Meteor Mash, Psychic, Dynamic Punch, Light Screen, Reflect, Bullet Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Scary Face, Miracle Eye, Magnet Rise, Flash Cannon, Iron Defense, Zen Headbutt, Shadow Ball, Double Team, Gyro Ball, Hammer Arm, Agility, Body Press, Hyper Beam, Psycho Cut, and Iron Head]
Ash was very satisfied. All of the Hoenn pokemon he has on hand are fully evolved and he's almost finished his symbol and badge collection.
"Well. Two more, then the Hoenn league." Ash says, stretching. "Let's get going."
Our heroes head to the Mossdeep gym, Ash is a bit nervous, but also excited. Though he's keeping his emotions to himself.
Ash inhales and exhales slowly, then opens the door to the gym. Two people around Ash's age were in there.
"Welcome to the Mossdeep Gym!" The two exclaim. The two look nearly identical.
"I'm Liza."
"And I'm Tate!"
"And together, we're the double battle gym leaders of Mossdeep City!"
Ash bows politely. "It's nice to meet you both. I'd like to challenge you to a gym battle."
"We accept! Let's go!" The twins says, clearly confident.
Ash smiles and follows them, the others head to the bleachers.
"Now, it's eight on eight and all battles are double battles. Feel free to switch pokemon whenever. You use eight pokemon, while we use four each." Liza explains.
"Think you can handle that?" Tate challenges. "Not a problem."
The battle starts, Tate sends out Claydol while Liza sends out Xatu and Ash sends out Absol and Aggron.
Xatu aims Psyshock at Aggron, but Absol protects Aggron. Luckily, Absol are dark type pokemon. So it did not affect the Disaster Pokemon.
Claydol uses Dazzling Gleam towards Absol, but this time, Aggron protects Absol. While it did hurt Aggron a bit, it wasn't bad, since Aggron was a steel type while Dazzling Gleam was a fairy type move.
Aggron uses Smack Down at Xatu and Absol uses Dark Pulse on Claydol, hitting hard, causing Claydol to flinch and for Xatu to be unable to fly.
They then finish it with Night Slash and Head Smash.
Now, it was Liza's Chimecho and Tate's Grumpig against Ash's Sceptile and Blaziken.
Chimecho uses Safeguard to help it and Grumpig prevents it from having status conditions like burning or poisoning.
Grumpig uses Light Screen to reduce the damage of special attacks for a while. Lucky for Ash, many of his pokemon know the move Brick Break, so even though it won't do much damage, it'll break the Light Screen.
Blaziken does just that, using the move on Grumpig since it was the one that used the move. The barrier-like field was shattered, so the others won't have problems with it while Sceptile attacks Chimecho with a super effective Night Slash.
The two psychic types get up and launch multiple Psyshocks and Psybeams, but they missed and get barraged by Leaf Blades and Blaze Kicks, knocking themselves both out.
Now, it was Alakazam and Gardevoir against Swampert and Togetic.
Swampert uses Rain Dance and Togetic uses Protect.
It was a good thing too since Gardevoir launched a large Energy Ball and Alakazam had used Charge Beam.
Swampert uses Dig while Togetic uses Ominous Wind on the two psychic type pokemon.
It didn't take long for Swampert to come out and pummel the two, dealing such a big amount of damage, it knocked them right out.
Now it was the final round. Lunatone and Solrock versus Pikachu and Eevee.
The four pokemon traded blow after blow, able to dodge or sustain each other's attacks, though it was taking a while.
Ash decides to try his newest strategy. He and his pokemon worked endlessly to make it so that they can't get this technique wrong. Especially ever since Ash saw Brandon use the very same technique.
Eevee set up Protect to keep them safe. Luckily, Rain Dance was still active, so Pikachu uses Thunder, so it couldn't miss.
But the target wasn't the two Meteorite pokemon. Eevee and Pikachu use Iron Tail and Psychic to control the Thunder and manipulate the electric attacks to make Thunder Armor.
It hurt a bit, but it was successful, the two pokemon looked like they were made out of gold, and the new look boosted their power.
Everyone was shocked by this power. "How is that possible?" Tate says, gulping.
"So it's true.. He is a student of Brandon.." Liza says, clearly shocked.
Eevee and Pikachu launched out powerful Trump Card and Thunder, this time, their targets were indeed Lunatone and Solrock.
Once the smoke cleared, Pikachu and Eevee's Thunder Armor disappeared, but the rock and psychic pokemon were defeated.
Liza and Tate were shocked, but sighs, returning their pokemon.
"You did your best. Thank you for your help." Tate says to his pokeball.
Liza taps Tate's shoulder and they both nod, grabbing something and heads to Ash.
"Ash, thanks for the battle." Liza says, Tate then says "You earned this."
"The Mind Badge." They say in unison, handing Ash the badge, along with some money, a TM for Light Screen and a TR for Calm Mind.
"Thank you. Guys, we best get ready." Ash says, the others nodding.
After about three days, May collected her fourth ribbon and our heroes head to Sootopolis City.
