18 Years Later
The son of Wilbur, the prince of New L'Manburg, has turned 18. It was the age when they are now getting trained to become Giant Slayers
"George, come look! The people want to see you!" Wilbur said as he noticed a brunette, combed, tired, and annoyed
George stepped into the balcony with his father as the people cheered. He looked down and spotted a man with blonde hair, a black, long coat, and a green and white hat
The prince hurried down as the people were surprised to see the prince out of his castle. He was greeted by many as he smiled and waved
He pushed through the crowd and met with the man, "Hey Phil!" Phil bowed as George shook his head, "I said that wasn't necessary."
Phil: I can't disrespect the prince!
George: I just don't like it when you're greeting me that way
Phil: George, even though I am a close friend of yours, I still have to
George: Oh, ok
Phil: Do you want to go see the arena?
George: I do, but I hate it
Phil: I see. Let's go. Either way, I have to heal the giants
George knew Phil loves the giants, but never knew why. He's heard stories of how human and giant kind used to live in harmony, but if his father hears anyone mentioning it, they get thrown in jail
Both found the closet seats to a dome chain arena. The giant wore a colorful hoodie with a swirl on the front. The slayer apprentice stretched as people cheered
He wore a white headband and wore armor as he walked towards it. George could see the giant was scared as it backed away
The human roared and climbed onto the giant's leg. He shrieked and shook the human off as he smiled and threw an ax, which made a slash on the giant's cheek
The giant whimpered as the apprentice laughed and jumped. He held onto the giant's hair and looked at him in his crystal clear eye
"Enough!" Wilbur announced as the apprentice smiled and slashed at the eyelid as the giant cried in pain
He scrunched into a ball as George looked at Phil, who was trying real hard to stay neutral and not care for the injured giant, especially in front of Wilbur
As they took the giant back to its cell, George followed Phil as he went up the stairs and made it to the giant's cell
"You good, Karl?" he asked as the giant whimpered and nodded. He noticed Phil got close to his face and the giant named Karl softly nuzzled him
George: He has a name?!
Phil: They all do. They just trust me more
George: May I?
Phil: If Karl lets you
George walked close to Karl as he whimpered and backed away from the prince. His eyes widened as he noticed the human prince had a sword next to him
George apologized and slowly placed it down as Karl sighed. George extended his arm and Karl let him touch his nose
George: He's not that bad!
Phil: None of them are, but Wilbur makes them
George: So they're all friendly?
Phil: Yes, but only the wild ones aren't
George: Is it possible to make friends with them?
Phil: If you can tame one
George heard his father call him as Phil sneaked him out of the prison and watched the prince walk slowly towards the castle
"Did you enjoy the show?" Wilbur asked as George nervously nodded, "Yeah...it was...good to see such a talented...apprentice."
Wilbur: The most skillful is a student by the name of Techno!
George: So who did we see?
Wilbur: The apprentice is Sapnap, the boy in fire! He is always pumped up and ready for battle!
George: Nice
Wilbur: Tomorrow, I will sign you up to get your training!
George: WHAT?!
Wilbur: You're 18, and I know you will be the greatest Giant Slayer of all! Maybe even defeat Techno!
George: Do I have to?
Wilbur: As your father and king, yes! Your mother and I discussed about it, and I say you're going
George sighed. He wished he never had to become one, but it's a requirement, whether you're a prince or not
He went into his room and looked at himself. He wished times were back to the peaceful ways, just like Phil said
He enjoyed hearing Phil's stories of how giants and humans used to live in harmony, but what argument started the war?
He changed into his nightgown and stared at the ceiling as he lied in bed. If only they could go back to what it used to be, he wouldn't have to see all the killing and bloodshed going on
