Two weeks later
Fall break..
Ary-
As soon as me and Liyah opened the door we immediately jumped on ma like two big ass kids on Christmas.
"Awee I've missed y'all tooo." She told us before hugging us back tightly and we looked behind her to see London with her arms crossed
I smiled before going to pick her up and Liyah followed
"Miss girl you have a birthday coming up, how old you turning ?" I ask wnd she got up a 4 before cheesing. She was missing both of her two front teeth which caused me to chuckled
We heard the door open and jr walked in with a smile and his duffel bag in his other hand
He hugged me and Liyah did mushing both of our heads hard as hell
"I should kick both of y'all asses for being grown and removing me." He said
"Because you kept sliding up on everything we posted., like damn." Liyah laughed and he smacked his teeth
"You not gon correct them on they cussing ?" My ma asked London
"If you cuss you go to hell, oh well." She said and my mouth dropped before she skipped off
"Well I'ma go teach her some more words." Jr cheesed and we mugged him before he jogged off
"How's school ?" She asked
"Good..."
"Stressful.."
Me and Liyah both said at the same time.
"What's stressful ?" My ma asked Liyah
"I'm at basketball, and if Im not then I'm at work but it's coo I guess" she said and I nodded
"College isn't easy, but switching your major to business was smart." I told her before grabbing my keys
"But I have a meeting, make sure y'all go see Keshawn today, and take London." I said
"Ma you should come with us." Liyah said and I raised my eyebrows
"You feeling ok ?" I asked her before feeling her head and she smacked her teeth
"I mean you should ma, it's been a few fears since we all went together to see him." She said and I sighed
"I'll think about it, text me what y'all want for a dinner." I told them before hugging them and leaving.
I got into my car before pulling off and heading towards the office
Usually when I do see kash, it's only because I'm taking London. I didn't wanna be that petty baby mama that keeps his kids away from him especially when he actually wants to be in her life. After I saw that name on his visitation though I stopped going and I let Brian take her instead, it was always negative energy. It honestly didn't bother him, so I just brushed it off and moved along.
Once I pulled up to the office I quickly got out because my ass was already eight minutes late. I had to wait until the girls got to the house, because of course I couldn't leave London at home by herself.
Once I made it to the room I opened the door to someone already presenting and my District leader smiled at me.
"Good afternoon, I'm sorry." I apologized
"No you're good, you're good, you must be Kay?" The woman smiled before offering her hand and I shook it
"I'm Angel." She introduced and I smiled Before furrowing my eyebrows
She sounded so familiar, but I didn't think to ask anything because I was already interrupting her
She continued to go on with her interview as I went through papers and looked at files.
She was applying for a business assistant position, and since I had no paralegal she was gonna be mine if all went well.
She continued talking and once she finished everyone looked impressed
"Any questions kayonna ?" My district leader asked
"Yea, did you take that associate survey that I required ? It had all of the interview questions already on it." I said and she nodded before handing me the paper
"Thank you, you're good to go wait in the lobby while I look over and I'll call you back into my office in about thirty minutes." I said and she nodded
"thank you." She smiled before leaving
"She seems sweet." My district leader said and I shrugged
"I hope so, she could bring my work load down so much." I said and she nodded
After a minute I went back to my office w
Before reading over everything and she answered everything so perfectly. After coming to a conclusion I called her back in and once she came in she took a seat
"Hey girl, so before anything else I just wanted to get to know you personally, where are you from ?" I asked with a smile
"I'm from Tampa Florida, I moved here for my daughter to get a better sports experience." She said and I raised my eyebrows
"That's a big step, you must have a lot of faith in her." I said and we both laughed
"She's a talented sweet girl, I want her to get more open to as many opportunities that she can." She said and I nodded
My phone rang and I looked at it to see a message from Liyah. I assumed it was about kash so I wrapped everything up
"Well thank you for applying, you fit the position well so I'll see you here Monday morning." I said before shaking her hand and she gave me a smile Before taking the file out my hand
"Thank you so much, it was nice to finally meet you." She told me
"You too."

I had went to pick everyone back up and we all got checked in to visit kash.
Once he came out he looked so different. We made eye contact, which I quickly broke. I looked at Liyah and Ary who had went up to him and gave him a big hug
I watched as they hugged tightly and we rocked the two side to side.
I had London on my hip, so once they broke apart I walked over before handing London to him and we walked over to a table
"How you been " he asked
"Good, what happened ?" I asked referring to the scratch under his eye
"I got into it, it www nothing serious." He said and I nodded
"You still with that nappy headed ass lil boy ?" He asked Ary and she rolled her eyes before laughed
"Yes." She cheesed before flashing her promise ring and he mugged her Causing her to smack her teeth
"Never want nobody to be great." She said and he chuckled
They all started talking but I honestly zoned out and stopped paying attention
"Kay?"
I looked at kash who looked like he had been speaking to me
"Oh my bad what ?" I asked and he gave me a blank stare
"Nothing."
I rolled my eyes and Liyah sighed
"He said something about the club." Liyah said and I looked at him
"I asked if y'all was good in cash ? I heard the club stock was low." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"The company that was supplying us kept giving us spoiled and damaged liquor. " I said and he furrowed his eyebrows
"Did y'all serve it?" He asked
"I mean Accidentally-
He sighed loudly before shaking his head
"Aye Calm down. I took care of it, company got got sued, I got more money and a better company. Stock is only still low because instead of every Wednesday, they deliver every Friday, which is should be in at 6:00 today." I Said and he nodded
"Ight my bad." He spoke
They continued to talk and catch up until eventually London got tired and started acting up. I watched as he calmed her down and she easily fell asleep in his arms after a few minutes.
"You ready ?" Ary asked
"If y'all are." I said and Liyah nodded before getting up and they both gave him another hug
"We'll be back before we leave from break." Ary said and he nodded before handing London to Ary
"Aye can I talk to you real quick?" He asked and I looked at him confused before stopped
Ary and Liyah continued walking out and he looked at me
"I know shit went left and we both moving on and shit, but I wanna at least be on good terms." He said and I shrugged
"Didn't know we was in bad terms." I said and he mumbled
"Well shit happened-
"And I didn't care. It's coo. You coo. We good." I said and he squinted his eyebrows
"Who you fucking on ?" He asked and I tilted my head
"Who you got visiting you ?" I asked before crossing my arms and he chuckled
"Oh but you don't care." He said and I smacked my teeth before turning around but he grabbed my arm Lightly turning me around
"Let me find out Kay."
"I'm grown, and single. You doing you, so ima do me." I said and he nodded before putting his hands up in surrender
"But Good terms though." I smiled
"We good, but that nigga won't be." He said and I shook my head before walking away.

As ma was driving back her phone ring and she answered it before talking for a while. I noticed her eyebrows had raised and she picked up the speed s bit
"What's wrong ?" Liyah asked
"Ima drop yall off real quick." She said and I sighed
"Ma??"
Eventually we pulled in the driveway and I looked at her
"What's wrong ?"
"It's just, something with a client, he won a global case not to long ago and he's a already young and in trouble." She explained and Liyah for London in the car
"Ima go with you." I told her
"Girl no-
"Ma im going." I said and she sighed
"Call me." Liyah told me and I nodded before she pulled off
"Wait what's his name ?" I asked
"Malik, he's actually really sweet, he goes to college down here because he's been taking care of his grandma who's bed sick." She said
By the time we got to his house it was crowded with a crowd and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion
"Stay in the car." I told her before getting out
Ambulances and more police cars started pulling up to the scene which drew me in even more confusion as I pushed through the crowd
Once everyone started noticing who I was they started crowding around and yelling at me leaving me stuck.
I saw another car pull up from a distance and it was Zay and Brian. Both of them immediately rushed into the crowd attempting to pull me out but it was so chaotic.
"Aye yall racist asses got five seconds to get the fuck up off her!" Brian yelled and j sighed
After w minute I heard screaming and I let go of Zay's arm before looking up and seeing paramedics rushing into the house
With no hesitation, I sprinted through the crowd with Brian and Zay yelling to to stop me but I was so worried. This boy did nothing wrong and I'd be damned if I let something happen to him mine or not.
Once I got into the house I seen Malik basically screaming in grief as the cops attempted to put him in cuffs. His grandma layed on the floor wounded as the paramedics quickly helped her on the stretcher.
"What the fuck happened ?" I asked
"You need to back up -
"No you need to let him the fuck go-
Interrupting my sentence he placed his hand on his belt and I mugged him
"Pig." I mumbled
"I'm his lawyer, I have access to know what the fuck is going on." I said and they calmed down on trying to cuff him.
"This is now a scene and you still can't be in here."He spoke while trying to get me out
"I'll step out, but you have to come with me to explain why you're arresting my client, or I'm suing both of y'all pig asses." I said and he looked at his partner
"We came to the scene to calm things things and he is under arrest for being violent with the crowd. Grandmother came down and reached for a weapon, shots fired." He said and I shook my head
"Y'all are so sick.." I said before choking up and looking at Malik who looked traumatized because he was staring into space
"Malik." I said and he looked at me
"Just calm down, go with them, don't resist, and I promise I'll have you out in less then thirty minutes okay ?" I asked And he shook his head
"Im tired. Case beat and they just took all the fuck that I had left. I'm done-" he chocked before I watched him fall weak into a breakdown.
"No she's gonna be okay, I just need you listen please." I assured him
This shit was breaking my heart, I wish I could've gotten here sooner because he didn't deserve to experience none of this bs.
I watched as they escorted him out through the angry mob and into the car and I followed towards mine.

A hour later
Malik walked out rubbing his handcuff marks and I sighed before pulling him into a long hug
"I'm so sorry." I told him
"Thank you Kay, real shit." He said after pulling back and I nodded
"So, I bailed so you don't necessarily have a court case through them, but you do through me. You can sue, and we're gonna get that cop sentenced, I promise." I said
"I can't go back in that house Kay... if you can drop me off to my car I can head straight to the hospital and just stay with my granny there for a minute." He said and I shook my head
"I have paperwork to fill out, you can come with me and we can figure everything out." I said and he shook his head
"You already doing enough for me." He said
"And Ima continue to do more.. I got you." I told him
I don't know why, but something f just kept telling me to protect this boy. It didn't seem right to let something happen to him so I wasn't going too. Whatever god is trying to tell me right now, I'm willing to listen.

I walked in the house and Brian was sitting on the couch holding London while he played the game with Jr
"Where'd Zay go ?" I asked
"Shit I don't know, he didn't follow me back here he just told me to let him know if you was good." He said and I shut the door once Malik came in And jr turned around before furrowing his eyebrows
"Who that is ?" He asked And I lightly laughed
"Malik, Malik jr and Brian" I introduced
"I'm helping him with a case right now so just be patient, and Brian come here." I said and he smacked his teeth before pausing and getting up
"Shit you gotta be better at 2k then this nigga ?" Jr asked and Malik chuckled before shaking his head
"I'm good man but thank you." He said
"Go ahead, get comfortable, Ima let you know if I hear something back." I said and he nodded before soaking towards jr.
"Kash told me you went to see him." He cheesed and I rolled my eyes
"He-
"Aht aht." He interrupted
"He also told me to stalk yo ass, so I'm being nice and I'm telling you now be careful, cause now Ima opp." He said and I smacked my teeth
"Doesn't he have a whole other girl on his visitation list ?" I asked and he raised his eyebrows before shaking his head
"What ?" I asked and he shook his head
"Brian ." I said through gritted teeth and he smacked his teeth
"Who ?" I asked
"Shit I don't know, all I know is Shawty thick, Angelica or something." He said and I mugged him
"I mean that's coo." I said
"Nah what yo ass finna do ?" He asked
"Me." I answered
Liyah-
"We should go check up on Trey." Ary said
"He never check up on us." I mumbled
"Girl, he isn't obligated too, just like we aren't, but he hasn't even met London and he's been in that house for as long as I can remember, I just feel bad, he's still family." Ary said and I sighed
"Plus we need to go see Jd anyways and he might be there so come on." Ary said before grabbing her bag and I sighed before getting up and following her downstairs
When we walked down I saw jr playing the game with someone they I assumed was his friend and Ary spoke
"Where's London ?" She asked And jr and the dude turned around
He was light skin, had a nice lil cut, and was built strong asf.
"She ran in the kitchen with ma and Brian." Jr answered and we both went into the kitchen
I saw London playing on her iPad while they talked and I picked her up, helping her out the seat
"We're gonna take her to see Jd." I said and my ma nodded
"Be careful." She told us and we nodded before heading out to the car

"Can I get McDonald's ?" London asked once we pulled up to Trey's
"Dude no why didn't you ask when we passed ?" I asked And she crossed her arms before tears filled her eyes
"See here you go, this why we don't bring you out the house." I mumbled And she started to cry
"We'll get you a happy meal after ok?" Ary asked and she pouted
We got London out the car before knocking on the door and after a while the door opens to Trey. He had something assisting him as he stood her for the most part it looked like he was moving on his feet
He looked surprised and to see us before he eventually smiled, pulling us into a long hug
"Damn y'all keep growing, this shit is crazy." He said in disbelief
"I mean time don't stop just because you do." I mumbled and Ary looked at me
"I know this isn't the baby" he said referring to London and she looked at him
"Heyy." He spoke before holding his hand out to her and she low fives it.
He stepped aside before letting us in and speaking
"Kay know yall here ?" He asked and Ary shook her head no causing him to sigh
"You think we would be here if she did?" I asked and he looked at me
"I know damn well you not the one with animosity?" He asked and I looked at him
"Because you forgetting that I'm in this situation because of yo crazy ass ex, and because you couldn't listen." He said and I tilted my head at him
"Nah you grown now right ? So let's have this conversation like grown folks." He said and Ary cleared her throat
"We not here for all that and London is right here, so do you want to get to know your other niece ?" Ary asked and he sighed
"Ight ight, but I wouldn't walk around here too comfortable, that nigga is still alive and he still walking fine." He said and I rolled my eyes
"Im waiting in the car." I said before putting my hands up in surrender
I waited outside while they talked as I thought over everything.
I hope Marcus is at least doing well.. we haven't talked in god who knows how long and I've been surprisingly ok with that.
It's like it took everyone to do me dirty or to leave, for me to finally master detachment. You won't see me attaching my name to anyone anymore, and that was for sure something that I lacked

"So they just called, and your grandmother is fine, they won't be taking visitations for the next two days though because of recovery and they want to minimize as much stress off her system as they can." I explained and he sighed

"Stop thanking me, we've been in this shit Goethe's for a few months now, you should know I got you by now" I told him before pulling him into a hug
"If you can drop me off to my car I'm about to book a few nights out west until shit settle down over there." He said
"I mean we have a guest room and it's fall break, I don't want you having to spend time alone or spend that much money you're already a college student that shit is expensive enough." I told him and he shook his head before lightly laughing
"Kay I'm not gonna over stay." He said
"Malik, Ima take you to get you car, and you're here for the next two weeks or however long you need, around here my family is tough on loyalty, if I tell you I got you I mean that." I said and he nodded
"You good to come with my and my homeboy's tonight at a boxing match that's about a hour out if you coo with it." I heard and I turned around to see Jr
"Yea That's coo." He shrugged and jr grabbed his keys
I had already explained to him the situation and he understood completely from someone who he'd lost his mother and had gotten took in from us. He knew the importance of making someone who didn't have a family feel like family.
Jr hugged me before the two of them left out.
I took a deep breath and sighed in relaxation now that I was in a empty house.
I went upstairs before taking a shower and wrapping a robe around my body.
The con about having recent sex is them hormones baby. My ass didn't even know what type I was craving but I knew I was cravingg.
Finally, I decided to take my ass out the house because sitting in the house wasn't going to do nothing but make me crave it even more.
I threw in something simple before going to the mirror to do some light makeup.

"Because he knows that I'm coming up off him.. he got a girl, so he needs to leave me the fuck alone. What's is gonna be ?" I asked and he sighed
"I'm finna come down stairs now." He said
"Thank you l." I told him before hanging up and shaking my head

"Just needed a night out, you ?" She asked

"Well let's go get some more drinks together ?" She asked and I shook my head
"Girl I'm at my limit, maybe a little over." I said
"A few won't hurt, I hold my liquor well and I can follow you home if a fails." She said before leading us to the bar.
I made eye contact with Brian who had came over before getting ready to speak but he stopped himself before clearing his throat
"When did y'all meet?" He asked and Angel turned around from talking to the bartender
"Um, I hired her as my business assistant this morning why?" I asked
He was getting ready to speak but his phone rang
"Hold on ." He said while looking in confusion before walking away to take the call
"Who was that ?" She asked
"My brother, but where were we?" I asked

A few snaps and a few drinks later I was done as always. Not black out drunk, but just enough drunk you know ?
I continued turning up with the rest of the club as music bumped loudly while recording snaps Of how fine my ass looked and uploading it to my snap.
"You need another drink ?" I heard and I turned around to see a random
"I'm good." I told him before slightly stepping away
"You sure ? You look a lil too good to be denying anything over this way." He said and I looked at him in disgust
"She said she good big dawg." Brian said before coming around and slightly grabbing me out the crowd

"I am, but not really." I said before waving him off and he sighed before leading me upstairs where it was quieter
Zay was in Brian's office putting money into a envelope and he handed it to Brian before grabbing his keys
"What's that?" I asked
"For me to buy some product to sell tonight, and Zay's gonna take you home since I have to make this drop." He said and I sighed
"I'm grown-
"And drunk Kay, just come on." Zay said before shaking his head
"I'm not going with you again cause it's gonna happen again." I slightly slurred and Brian looked at me
"What's gonna happen again ?" Brian asked and I laughed causing Zay to sigh
"Me falling asleep on the couch and us being confused again probably." He said before slightly helping me up but I moved
"I can walk." I told him before walking out and slightly stumbling causing them both to laugh.
"You look mad." I told Zay after we got in the car
"Kay you almost just got both of us caught up." He said and I sighed
"You don't really care." I told him before running my hand under his chin and he moved his head up
"I don't, but still you tripping. You baby can't just come get drunk every time you processing shit." He said
"I don't."
"You do Kay." He said and I rolled my eyes
"Wait the girls are home I can't walk in like this." I said
"But you aren't that drunk." He mocked and I smacked my teeth
"I'm not that drunk." I said again and he shook his head
He carried me inside his house before lightly sitting me on the couch for a minute
"Just hold on real quick." He told me and I laughed before falling over and rolling off the couch
I layed faced down in the floor before literally laughing until tears came down my face and I heard him laugh a little too before coming back and helping me up
"You good ?" He while before smiling at me trying
Not to laugh
"I'm good." I said before he helped me upstairs
He gave me a oversized shirt and I slipped it on before watching it fall fo my knees
"Here take this." He said before taking two four Advil's out the bottle and handing me a bottled water. I took them before washing it down and he grabbed my clothes before getting ready to leave the room but I grabbed him
"No stay." I told him before wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss but after a while he pulled back.
"You drunk Kay." He lightly laughed
"I'm notttt."
"You aree." He said back and I sighed loudly
I slightly pulled him in by the belt of his pants before looking him in the eyes
"I don't care anymore." I told him
"And I care about you, so I'm not even gon take advantage of you while you like this." He said and I sighed again
"You can take my bed, I'll take the couch." He told me.
