THE CURSE

Karen has been cursed at the age of 22 to kill any man she falls in love with . She has
killed three men till now and kept the curse a secret from everyone until a few years
later when the curse temporarily became a secret that no one, not even she knows. The
secret, the curse buried it self from Karen's memory.
On her 29th birthday, her best friend, Lina arranged a surprise birthday party at her
favorite bar. Lina also bought along her friend, Nathaniel. Soon, Karen and Nathaniel
become close and as you may guess, yes, both of them were in love with each other,
unknowingly while the curse slept in her memory, forgotten and waiting to resurface at
the right time.
A few months passed, and it was time for Nathaniel's birthday and Karen had promised
him a cozy and romantic home-cooked meal. Everything was set and when they were
having dinner, Nathaniel gently dropped his knife and fork on the plate and stared at
Karen on the other end of the small, square table. Karen looked up from her plate to
watch Nathaniel grinning and staring at her. "What?" she asked with a playful giggle.
Nathaniel nodded his head from side to side and said "Nothing, other than the fact that I
love you."
Change in expression, an angry voice, the curse was awake, stronger than ever. She
grabbed her butter knife and stabbed her love, Nathaniel. They were both on the ground
next to the leg of the dining table. Nathaniel was on the ground, horrified, when Karen
sat on top of him. Her hands, that were once weak but now strengthened by the curse,
were wrapped around Nathaniel's neck, choking him until his heart stopped doing it's
job. A few seconds later, the storm had stopped, the curse went back to sleep but not
buried like it was an hour ago. When she realized what she had done, she pushed her
self away from him and towards the wall which was 2 feet away from them. She sat with
her back against the wall, hugging her knees and crying. She suddenly felt someone
touch her. She looked up to find Nathaniel, unharmed and said "I'm cursed with
immortality"
