Thump Thump

Ayumi walks

Her curiosities

number the stars,

and jump

from the cosmos,

and land

begging,

in my lap,

nudging me

to love her

following my eyes,

making sure

I did it right.

She never asks to leave.

Thump Thump

Ayumi tears

my heart in two.

Thump Thump

Footsteps always falling.

I'll feel it when you come back.
