Aliyah and Tyler never got back together and the girls wanted her to move on. Find a new guy and be happy.
Aliyah is a star volleyball player of the school. The team has won so many championships, they are the reigning state champions.
The team prepared day and night for the finals to defend the championship against Anchor High, a boarding school for rich and privileged kids. Anchor High school just registered their team this year and they've dominated their way to the finals.
The team is fearful of defeat. The game is to be held at Anchor High's volleyball court. They have a fully equipped court and maintained condition. The team, the Phoenixes are really worried about losing on foreign grounds.
The chance of playing on their court was an added advantage to the Anchors. The support from their people would boost their morale.
The day before the big game, the Phoenixes packed their bags and took a bus to Anchor High. They'll be rooming in a guest hostel away from the students' dormitory.

The members of GWL that are on the volleyball team are Betty, Success, Aliyah and Mary. Amanda does high jump, Precious does running and Prosper............ She has no sporting talent but she is a good cheerleader. Not in actual cheerleading ofcourse but from the stands screaming the names of her friends. And she is content.
Mary lands on the lower bunk of her shared bunk bed with Aliyah.
"I'm so hungry. Why didn't they give us anything to eat or allow us to take along food on the bus"
"Because they thought some of us may get travel sick" Betty answers from her own shared bunk bed with Success.
"Pfft who gets travel sick on a bus?" Mary rolls her eyes
"Annabelle does" Betty responds. "She threw up more than five times"
"Still! I feel drained" Mary complains some more
"Quit your whining and grab something to eat at their cafeteria" Success joins the conversation
"It's 8pm would they still be opened?"
"I heard that since this school is so fancy, the cafeteria is stocked with one serving of food to a plate in the commercial refrigerator of the cafeteria. The food is like packaged in plastic containers. So students just go down there and heat up their food themselves when there are no workers" Success explains
Mary sits up " no way"
"Yep" Aliyah joins. She stretches a magazine of the school to Mary "it says here that this food system is to make students feel at home. Most of the students here are rich kids whose parents can't look after them so dump them off here. The school has adopted many unique and strange methods to make the school experience more enjoyable."
"In that case sign me up"
Betty exclaims snapping her fingers
"Sister I think you are forgetting you are a scholarship student" Success tells Betty
"Well do they accept students on scholarship?"
"Let me check" Aliyah flips through the magazine "uh no. They accept strictly on payment."
"What a bummer" Betty sighs in defeat
"I think that's great. At least they can control students who want to enjoy their facilities for free" Mary agrees
"Mary you enjoy our school's facilities for free" Success deadpans
"I know but our school is crap compared to this place. Their bunk beds are so wide it's more comfortable than my bed at home or in the dorms"
Mary bounces on the bed
"That is true" Success nods
"Girls I can see in their school sport magazine that this team is well trained by professional volleyball players including Taiwo Kendra the best in the Africa. They pay her high for her services" Aliyah says
"No wonder they are so good" Betty nods
"Oh no we are toast" Success groans into her pillow
"We aren't toast. We can leave here with a victory." Mary tries an encouraging line
"With a nought you mean. We will lose so bad it would be '40 - 0'" Success continues
"But on the bright side, their male team captain is hot. Like smoking hot." Aliyah smiles at them
The remaining three run to her side to take a look at the guy in question.
"Omg he is hot" success snatches the magazine from Aliyah's grasps
"Hey give that back" Aliyah demands
"Race y'all to the cafeteria" Success sprints to the cafeteria with the other three hot at her heals.

Success pauses in awe as she runs into the cafeteria.
"The magazine wasn't kidding in the pictures. This place is grand." Aliyah comments as they meet Success
"It looks more like a French themed restaurant than a cafeteria. These kids are living the life" Betty touches the decor.
"Y'all get a grip" Mary interrupts "I'm hungry. Where is that big refrigerator you were talking about?"
"Found it" Aliyah opens the refrigerator door.
"My gosh they serve fried rice and rich salads and pork in their cafeteria?" Mary pushes Aliyah outta the way.
"Shut up. They literally serve them tea in the mornings" Success squats. "Super fancy herbal teas. What's this? " She holds up a container"Darjeeling tea? What dah hell is that?" She stuffs it back in the cupboard. Everything is too much for her to handle.
"Wait! Holl up! Is that turkey i see? " Aliyah picks the big wrap of turkey "no way. I'm eating this"
"I'll have some " Betty tells Aliya
"There's no need to share. There's more than enough"
"Let's not be wasteful. You can't finish that all by yourself"
They eat till 9:40 pm.
And venture to the school volleyball court to practice. It's unhealthy to eat before practicing but they didn't care. The court is a virtual court indoors.
They use the robotic balls to practice and so far, they've been failing miserably.
Aliyah makes a shot and fails again in blocking.
They hear claps and laughs from the doorway.
"Who are you guys?" Betty stands from her sitting position
"The female basketball team and a few from the male team" Aliyah answers
"Darling here knows who we are but she didn't define it enough. I am Lisa the captain of the female volleyball team of Anchor High. The team that would finally collect our championship tomorrow. Thank you for keeping it for us for the past six years in a row but we are taking it. No hard feelings huh?"
"It's ours and when we beat you we'll be keeping it" Aliyah responds with confidence
"Bold words there Aliyah. Team captain that can't even win a game in virtual volleyball." Lisa walks to their front followed by the others " you can check the high scores on that computer. I'm number 2. Keith is number 1"
"A game doesn't define our skills, Lisa" Mary interferes
"I see. You know what? we'll all see when we beat you guys nought tomorrow"
Lisa turns to a girl beside her " where is Keith anyway he's taking time"
"What now?" Betty asks Aliyah
"You get out of our training facility, losers" Another girl interrupts
"And who are you?" Success raises a brow
"Rhea the smasher" she smirks "haven't heard of me?"
"Uh no" Mary gives a puzzled look
"Well you'll see when I smash you all to powder on the court tomorrow. Ain't that right baby?" She turns to a guy at her left
"Sure as ever" he nods at her
"What's sure as hell is the fact that your boyfriend is so blind he can't see how ugly and skinny you are like a sheet of bones" Betty gets in her face and holds Rhea's hand up " darling add some weight or someone thicc like Mary......" Mary slaps her butt smirking "..... Would steal 'em from right under your nose "
"Get out of my face you peasant" she screeches and pushes Betty to the floor
Betty gets up and storms over to her to give her a beating " oh it's on"
Success and Aliyah hold her down "Betty don't. Let's go" Aliyah pulls her out
"Yeah get out disgusting losers messing up our environment" Rhea spits at them
"Get ready to lose in your own territory" Mary fires back and slams the doors.
"Spoilt piece of shit" Success hits the wall
"Let's rest. We have a crazy day tomorrow" Aliyah starts walking away
