Okay, I'll admit.

I wasn't expecting to be swarmed around by my siblings.

I can tell they would've jumped on me if given the chance.

Big Sis #5 squashed any chance of that happening.

I wasn't the only one threatened to be tackled though.

My other older siblings also were the target of assault.

Big Bro #1 and Big Bro #3 were fine with the development.

Quite surprising given Big Bro #3's current scratches from catching me.

He truly is tough, isn't he?

It's hard to imagine anyone catching anything at that speed from above.

I can't imagine doing the same and coming out alive, let alone with another person.

Yet, here is Big Bro #3.

Not only able to do it, but having the nerve to do so.

He could've been killed by that, you know?

Then there's Big Bro #1

When he said he had a way to handle the bear, I was a bit skeptical.

Those flames movements were weird.

They moved as if they were alive.

They seemed to even constrict and damage the bear at his will.

It was very weird, but It was also kind of cool as well.

If someone told him I thought this I'd deny it completely.

Finally, there's Big Sis #5, who is mostly getting swarmed by our sisters.

She's apparently now something of an idol to them from what I can see.

Not only did she fight and contribute well to the battle, she also toughed it out with one of my plans.

Who would actively stick around to fight some dangerous enemy.

Stop.

Don't answer that.

Regardless we're all back safe and sound

That means we can start up on the main event.

Filling our stomachs with the food we caught beforehand!

"Okay everyone, let's get ready to eat." I call out.

Everyone cheers happily.

Come to think of it, what would've happened if I died holding all of those foxes?

Would they burst out of me like some kind of item drop?

Would they just be lost forever in the hidden space that is my storage.

Come to think of it, I can't even see what I'm storing.

So if I forget about something, is it lost forever?

What a scary thought.

Let's start by dropping all the foxes first.

Male Magma Dragon Wyrmling (Variant) dropped [Kitsune (Corpse)] x14

"Okay let's-eah!"

I was thrown back by my siblings who all snatched up a fox to eat.

I understand that you're hungry, but can't you wait until we portion everything out evenly

I'm still hurt here, you know.

Of course not.

I forgot how meat headed this family can be.

I let out a sigh and tug out a kitsune corpse for myself.

Everyones is digging right into the foxes with such vigor.

The fur and skin was torn off of them almost in an instant.

Hunger has entrapped my siblings; all of them.

As for me?

I'm cutting off its fur coat first.

Why?

Well, I have this dismantling skill.

The first time I cut its fur pelt it was merely to remove the fur.

Well, that's one reason anyways.

If you're wondering about my true reason?

Cooking.

I'm going to try my hand at cooking.

To be more precise.

I'm going to roast it.

For this to work I'm gonna have to prepare a bit.

It doesn't take too much longer until the fur was off and I stored it away.

I wonder if I can use these furs for something down the road.

With the tiger meat Farris brough in, it's fur was almost always burnt off.

Even the green dragon, rest in peace, had some of its scales torn off.

I'd say they were mostly taken down by a fire breath.

I doubt I'll need its fur since I have my own.

I can use my fire breath to warm up if need be.

Well, better safe than sorry I guess.

Alright, furs off and it looks...honestly like a skinned animal.

Best not to think too deeply about it.

Next part is gonna be a bit tricky.

I'm gonna need a fire to roast this fox I have here.

Sounds simple, except...

I don't really have the MP to make a fire breath.

Actually, I don't have the MP to make any kind of breath.

Which means, I'm gonna have to ask someone to help me.

Which also means I'm gonna have to explain my plan to someone and get looked at weird again.

Let's just rip off this band-aid.

I let out a sigh before turning to my siblings.

I should probably ask 'him' if I don't want to be asked too many questions.

Big Bro #3 seems to be finished eating.

Or not.

He looked over at me and the fox with me.

"Mri meev vor-"

This isn't gonna work.

I drop the fox from my mouth.

"I need your help Bro."

He turned to face me.

"I need your help starting a fire. Could you help me?"

He looked at me for a couple seconds before nodding. "Yeah."

That went surprisingly well.

I motioned over my brother to a good spot with some stray tiger fur from previous dinners past.

Since this idea was mostly spontaneous, I'm using only the materials I have in reach.

No use risking my 6 HP on gathering timber and sticks.

"Just light this on fire here." I tell him.

He turns to the pile and breathes out his flame at it.

The fur burns pretty well.

The smell however was very odd.

It was very thick and smokey.

It wasn't a good smell, but it wasn't bad either.

If I had to explain it in a way, it's like someone was burning fat for too long.

Well, I better get used to it.

I take the skinned fox and pull at one of its legs.

There's a rough tearing sound before I moved to do the same to it's other legs.

Skill Up!

「Dismantling」has reached Level 2

I wouldn't call this dismantling, but who am I to judge?

Now that the fox was free of its limbs I can start on the next step.

My tail coils around its torso of the fox before I then hold it up over the fire.

"Thanks Big bro." I say to Big Bro #3.

He gives me a confused look at my current position but nods nonetheless.

He then...just lays down near the fire.

Seems like he's curious about what I'm doing.

Well, curiosity won't kill this tough wyrmling.

It's a good thing I have Fire Nullification now.

Holding food over an open fire sounds like a good way to burn yourself.

However, it's exactly because I have Fire Nullification that I thought I'd be okay like this.

I figured I could probably push my luck a little bit.

I was dancing around while on fire that one time.

Actually, I'd rather not think of that moment.

I watch the foxes body, curling and twisting my tail to flip it over in the fire.

I have no idea how to cook something over an open fire.

It's hard to tell if I'm doing this right or not.

Truth be told, I have no idea if this will work.

Huh?

It seems strange?

Well what do you expect from someone who has no memory of their past life?

You don't ask someone to do something if they have no memory of doing it.

My knowledge of dragons?

I don't get it either but, I can remember anything that's related to dragons.

I also can remember a few pieces of information from my previous life, but nothing about myself.

The fact I can even remember what I can is a mysterious miracle itself.

If I had to guess, It probably has something to do with that Hidden skill with the question marks.

It's the only skill I can't read at all.

Not to mention the three skills I got from it; Fortune Trader, Hyper Growth, and Dragonize.

Simply being near death activated it.

I also got to peer at that strange scene.

That vision...of my death.

Those sensations I felt, those emotions, they were too real to be just a hallucination.

Then that must've been part of my past as well.

Why is the first memory I get something so depressing?

Death by train.

Horrible.

I was even in a good mood before it happened

Talk about your mood killer.

I need to stop thinking about this.

Nom.

Crisp, and warm.

I can't say it tastes great, but it does taste a bit better than it does raw.

I place the roasted fox core down and begin to dig in.

It's really good.

I wish I had some seasoning for it.

Maybe some barbeque or soy sauce?

Perhaps some vegetables?

At least some salt and pepper would help.

Skill Gained

Male Magma Dragon Wyrmling (Variant) acquired 「Cooking」

I was half expecting this.

Honestly, what's a skill and what's not in this world?

Cooking seems like a useful skill.

If I raise it up, will I be able to make more tasty foods?

Maybe, I'll get some neat ideas for cooking, or a better sense of what to add to get my desired result.

Well, I might as well continue cooking the legs while I eat the rest of this body.
...

one of the legs are missing.

I look up to see Little Bro #8 trying to sneak away with the leg.

"Hey!" I roar out

I grab the other end and tug at him.

"Wha fo mou fink for fooing?" I growl at him.

"Mif waf wha wou fink i iff." He muffles back.

"Den woff da wey an ifflam if." I growl out with a glare.

He looks at me for a moment before letting go of the leg.

I waste no time.

Male Magma Dragon Wyrmling (Variant) stored [Meat (Kitsune)] x1

And just in case.

Male Magma Dragon Wyrmling (Variant) stored [Meat (Kitsune)] x3

Male Magma Dragon Wyrmling (Variant) stored [Cooked Meat (Kitsune)] x1

"What were you trying to do?" I ask Little Bro #8.

"I wasn't trying to steal your food." He growls out with a claw up. "I just thought It'd taste better if you cooked it differently."

Oh?

"What do you mean 'taste better?'" I ask, lowering my gaze and looking him over.

"Well, if you use a certain stone and plant, it can taste much better." He says, looking off to the side.

He raised his claw up.

Wait, this pattern.

Suddenly a couple black crystal-like stones and plants dropped under his claw.

Huh?

My shock must've been shown on my face because Little Bro #8 started to chuckle.

"When could you do that?" I ask him.

"I could always do it. I just never did it openly." He says with a shrug. "But after seeing you and Farris do so, I figured it would be alright to show you."

He could always do it?

It hasn't been that long.

Was he also born with this ability?

"I'm sure you have questions, big brother." He says. "But for now...will you let me cook that fox you have?"

I blink and raise a brow.

"One more question." I start

Little Bro #8 shrugs before nodding.

"Why do you know about cooking?" I ask him.

He seems surprised by my question.

This whole situation is strange.

Just the fact that he hid his skills and acted like everyone else is strange enough.

But the strangest thing about this situation is that he's trying to cook for me.

Up till now everything I've done was and is considered strange or new.

Big Bro #3's reaction towards me cooking made it obvious.

Yet here's Little Bro #8 who already knows about this supposedly new thing.

Even more so, he has a way on how to improve on this supposedly new thing.

He and I stare each other down before he looks off to the side.

"hrnmm...Well..." He starts.

I cock my head to the side. "Well?"

"It's hard to explain but.." He looks down before sighing. "I used to be a human."
...

...

... eh?
