~in the morning~
(Y/N pov:)
I was sharing my room with Naruto while Sasuke and Kakashi sensei shared the other room. Naruto had forced to be with me to make sure I get a good sleep because he knew everything I was going through staying in this village.
Even after that, I could only sleep for one or two hours. Whatever happened in this village back then has traumatized me to the extent I didn't wanna come here but I had no choice. My chest started hurting and I held it to calm the pain as a few tears rolled down my cheeks but I made sure Naruto does not hear my sobs.
The pain faded after a while and I was back to normal. It happened at the right time because right after that, there was a knock on the door. I quickly stood up and opened it to reveal the masked ninja.
"Good morning sensei.", I said with a smile.
He nodded with a smile,"Good morning. Get ready, we will be heading out soon."
I nodded,"Yes, sensei."
He went away and I closed the door behind him. I packed my stuff as I called out to Naruto to wake up.
He sat up rubbing his eyes,"Y/N? Did you get good sleep last night?"
"Yeah, it wasn't very comfortable, but, I can make back to the village without any problem." I smiled.
"Okay, I guess that will work. Don't worry, I'll make sure none of your past comes back. I'll protect you with my life, it's a promise.", he smiled his optimistic smile.
"Thanks Naruto." I hugged him almost about to cry.
He's everything I have wanted my brother to be. I will always be thankful for having him in my life.
I let him go,"Now, come on, pack your stuff. We are heading out soon."
He nodded and started preparing his stuff.
When he went away from me, I sat on the bed and took out my mother's photo that I always keep with me.
Hugging her photo, I whispered as if I was talking to her, "Please watch over me, mom. I don't want to meet him so soon. I'm not yet ready for it." Tears start rolling down my eyes. "But, I promise I will get you justice. I'll become so much more stronger and kill that man."
My tears turned into anger. I kissed my mother's cheek and kept the photo back in my bag. I wiped my tears and got dressed in my ninja gear.
Naruto stood ready beside me and we both went out to the dining room. Kakashi sensei and Sasuke were already there waiting for us. We ate our breakfast, greeted the head goodbye and started our journey back to our village in the same formation.
As the house came back in view, I removed my eyes from the surroundings staring at the ground in front of me and kept on walking without thinking about anything else. My fists clenched to stop my anxiety from taking over me.
Naruto noticed me and came close to me to comfort me.
"I'll never be able to see this house again without those memories flashing." I whispered slowly to Naruto.
He rubbed my back,"It's fine, you don't have to be here ever again. Atleast, not alone. I will be with you."
I nodded slowly leaning a bit on Naruto and we walked like that to the gates.
(Kakashi pov:)
Y/N seems pretty messed up. She was like this even when we entered the village yesterday. Does she know this place? Did something happen to her here?
And, why is it this exact place? It kinda seems to be the house.
What can be the story behind this? Should I ask her?
NO! I can't just ask her, she doesn't seem comfortable at all.
Maybe it's the vibe? Even I don't like it. But, why right here? Why not anywhere else?
She even went to the market with Naruto and came back happy and cheery. What happened here?!
These thoughts were wrecking my brain when I saw her relax as we went out of the vicinity of the house. Naruto came back to his place and we continued our journey without talking about it.
(Y/N pov:)
This feels better. Away from him and that house. I want to kill him the moment I see him but he will be too powerful. I have to be so much stronger if I have to make my mother proud and get her justice. I can't keep running away from him. I'm not that 6 year old girl anymore.
~after a while almost evening~
We were out of the village territory and had decided to take a rest under a tree. I laid my back against the bark of the tree and relaxed but, made sure I kept an eye on the surroundings since I still felt a little uneasy. I felt as if something bad was about to happen.
The other three were also relaxing. Naruto was laying on the ground with his head on my thigh. Kakashi sensei was on the tree branch reading his book. Sasuke was beside me with his back against the tree and was rotating the kunai around his finger.
Suddenly, the bush in front of us across the road started shaking and Sasuke threw the kunai at it.
"Missed me, little brat!" A man called out from behind the bush.
We all got up and stood in the formation.
"Show yourself!", I called out to him.
"Okay, if you say so." The same man from yesterday who was following us through the market came out from behind the bush with a sword in his hand pointing at me.
"YOU?!", I yelled.
"You know him?" Kakashi sensei asked.
"He was following me and Naruto when we were in the market. He passed by and it felt he knew me. He even checked my birthmark to make sure it was me." I answered without taking off my eyes from him.
"Very observant of you, little girl." ,The man showed a devilish smirk. "Now that you know this, you might wanna come with me quietly. Or your friends will die. The boss wants you alive so, do your friends a favor and come. We can do this without any battle."
"What does your boss wants from her?" Kakashi sensei asked getting right behind me.
"I might be knowing about it." I said in calm anger and looked at the man in front of me, "If it's him, you are going to die right now."
With a blink of eye, I took out my kunai and attacked his hand making him lose his sword. I put the kunai to his throat and backed him up to the tree.
"Y/N!" Kakashi sensei called out in a worry.
"Don't, Kakashi sensei." Naruto put his hand in front of sensei. "It's her battle, let her fight. It's what she lived for her entire life."
(Kakashi pov:)
Lived for her entire life? What is that supposed to mean?
Her eyes just reflect anger and nothing else. What does she mean by knowing who it is? Does this have any relation to that house?
"Who's your boss?!" Y/N said, anger clearly visible in her voice. She wasn't scared, she wasn't sad. All she had was hatred.
"It's Lord (L/N)." The man said in a shaky voice.
L/N? But, that's not possible! Y/N has no relatives! I checked her entire history when I got her as my student.
"Oh, him? So, you are his man. Sorry, but the day you joined him, your death was written by my hand." She said as she slit his throat with the kunai.
"That bastard just won't leave me alone." She said looking at the dead body sliding down, her hatred increased with every word she spoke. She picked up the sword and put it through the man's heart pinning him to the tree like a piece of painting.
That was the part of her I never thought existed. At training, she was caring when anyone got hurt, focused on training, having fun with Naruto.
That night, it was a broken girl wanting reassurance.
That house was scary for her when it was just a normal house to me.
And, right now, her eyes show bloodlust. Ready to kill anyone who comes in her way.
This is the first time she's been so mad she killed the person ruthlessly.
She turned showing her face and hands covered in his blood.
"I'll go to the river and wash off." She said as she went away to the river without saying another word or letting us say anything.
(Y/N pov:)
So, my past is coming back now. I have to be ready for even worst. Killing him felt one step closer to my revenge and my mom's justice.
I washed off the blood. I knew everyone will ask me about it and I can't hide it anymore from them. They have to know what happened just now.
I wiped the water and went back to where Sasuke and Kakashi sensei were still horrified by me.
Naruto came to me,"Y/N! You did so great! I bet you can take on the boss now!"
I shook my head,"No, I can't. If he's sending people to get me, that means there are many more in his command. It won't be this easy. He must have sent his weakest man to get me underestimating me. There will be many more stronger than me."
"It's okay, you can get more stronger and fast. If not today, then in the near future, you will get to your goal!" He gave me his energetic smile.
I smiled back "Thanks Naruto."
"Y/N, you need to explain what just happened!" Kakashi sensei said in a little worried and scared tone.
"Yes, sensei. But, can we first go away from here. I don't want..." I looked with angry eyes at the man hanging from the tree with the sword in his chest "...him near me."
Sensei nodded and we started walking back on our journey.
