"Hi, uh- it's Namjoon. George has been rushed to hospital, we thought it would be best to call you and see if you wanted to head down here for him."
Chungha's mind froze as she attempted to process the information she was being given by Namjoon, who sounded beyond nervous. For a second, the emergency resister, and she found herself nodding calmly before her eyes almost flew out of her head.
"George is in the what- is he okay? What?! Oh my god!" She held her hand against her head, the worst immediately flooding to mind. She tried to compose herself.
"He was given a chocolate bar that contained peanuts, he had no idea what was in it and ate it because he was told it was safe. We're not sure whether he was given it purposely or if this is a misunderstanding, but it's being looked into."
Chungha let out a breath, and swallowed back her nerves. "Okay. Okay. I'm on my way. Take my number and text me if anything changes, please."
"Of course."
After the phone call ended, Chungha got a ride from her manager, who was much more understanding of the situation than she had expected. She was quickly handed a hat and mask which she put on without any hesitation as they pulled up.
She could only hope he was okay.
Namjoon, Jin, and their manager were all stood outside of the room when Chungha finally arrived. Namjoon gave her a reassuring smile.
"He's doing well, he's awake and normal just a little sick but they managed to stabilise him before it could get too bad," Namjoon immediately explained. "You can go in and see him if you want, we didn't want to leave without anyone here."
Chungha gave them a thankful smile. "I'll stay with him."
"Are you sure?"
She nodded.
"We'll be back in an hour, they're keeping him in overnight to check on him so we'll go grab him some things," Jin explained.
"Wait, who will look after Pluto?"
Namjoon smiled at her concern. "Us. When George isn't home, we take care of Pluto. Hoseok has him right now at the studio."
Once all of that was out the way, and the boys headed out, Chungha stepped into the room to find her boyfriend sleeping peacefully. She smiled fondly at the sight and moved to sit in the seat next to his bed, taking his hand in her own.
"I was almost brutally killed today," he spoke, eyes glued shut and voice hoarse.
"I heard," Chungha hummed, reaching over to move a few stands of hair out of his face. He opened his eyes and gave her a small smile, she returned it immediately. "I'm just glad you didn't, I don't have any cute funeral clothes and I want to look hot when I become a widow."
George raised an eyebrow. "My Pretty, we're not married."
"Oh- i forgot the wedding we had was in my head, my bad."
George weakly chuckled.
Chungha kissed his knuckles and let out a breath. She had been so worried, she knew he was allergic to peanuts but she didn't know it was this bad. It was scary.
Noticing her shift in attitude, George squeezed her hand.
"Where's your pretty smile gone?" He asked her softly.
"Just worried," she replied quietly, keeping her eyes on his hand. He has nice hands, she couldn't help but think. "I didn't realize how serious your allergy was, and the fact that a single chocolate bar could do this-"
"My love, I've been allergic to peanuts for as long as I can remember and I've only ended up in this position three times. I usually read everything I eat or my manager checks it before it's handed to me, but a small mistake was made today."
Chungha gulped. "How do you know it was a mistake?"
"I don't, and that's scary but I promise you, I will be extra careful from now on," he assured her. "Now, get your pretty ass on this bed and give me cuddles, I nearly met my creator today and frankly, it was traumatising. So hug me please."
She didn't have to be asked twice. Jumping up, she slid into the bed him and wrapped her arms around him, allowing him to be the little spoon. She played with his hair, pressing numerous kisses to his temple which made him hum in delight.
"I'm so glad you didn't make me a widow."
George chuckled, and leaned up to kiss her jawline.
"Me too, Pretty. Me too."
