Sidharth's P.O.V.

I stepped out of my office while tracking Shehnaaz's location on my phone and was going to the conference room for a meeting when Oscar came in front of me, blocking my path. Sternly looking at him, I asked, "What is the problem?" "Sir, I don't know how to tell you this but I need a half day," he said. "May I know the reason?" I asked. "It's a bit personal," he said. "Fine, you can go," I said after a quick thought. As he turned and walked further and further away, I gave another bodyguard a sign to go after him and he obeyed. As I reached the conference hall door and was about to enter, my phone rang. Answering, I asked, "Any new update?" "No sir. At least not on Prakash," Daksh said. "Then?" I asked. "Shehnaaz is calling me constantly to go and meet her. How do I do so?" He said sounding worried. "Any special reason?" I asked. "She said that she wants to go shopping and since you stopped Oscar from being her bodyguard she wants me," he said. "Daksh, you're a grown man. Figure out yourself how you are going to deal with her," I said. "Sir..." he said with his voice diminishing. Dropping my shoulders, I waited for him only to say, "She's your wife. She isn't less stubborn. And besides, I am not married. How am I supposed to please your wife." I sighed and said, "Alright. I'll figure out something." "Sir, why don't you carry her?" He asked. "I have an important meeting with the board. I can't," I said. "When the meeting is over," he said. "You know her, she won't agree to come with me," I said. "Then make her agree," he said. "Fine!" I exclaimed, "I'll go. But after my meeting." "Good luck," he said amused and hang up. Sitting and thinking through the meeting on how I was supposed to convince Shehnaaz to go shopping with me, someone asked and broke my thoughts, "Sir, what do you think?" "Huh?" I said lost. Everyone's eyes were fixed on me and I leaned forward saying, "Gentlemen, I am in a dilemna." "Tell us, maybe we can help," one said. Nodding, I said, "I have to convince my annoyed wife to go shopping with me. How do I do so?" Everyone looked at each other whispering while I waited for a suggestion. "Sir, you should just ask her," one said. Shaking my head, I said, "She will never agree only with that." "Carry her forcefully or deceitfully," another said. I gave it some thought and said, "Not a bad idea." "I will keep this meeting again tomorrow. Be ready again with the presentation," I said and left. Smirking, I said, "Mrs. Shukla, get ready to shop."

I reached home and met Mom leaving the house. "Sid, you're home so early?" She said surprised. "Yeah Mom. I have some urgent work to do," I said. She left the house and I went straight to the kitchen. Shehnaaz was so focused on her meal that she took some time to acknowledge my presence. "Hey," I said leaning against the kitchen counter. She outright ignored me and continued stirring the pot. "I am here to carry you shopping," I said. "I already spoke to Daksh, he will accompany me," she said. "I have assigned Daksh to something more important. I will carry you shopping," I said. "No need. I can manage by myself," she said. "I know you can but I am still coming," I said. "Why can't you send Oscar with me then?" She asked. "You know why," I said, "Listen, you don't have a choice. Get ready and let's go." "I'm not going," she said. Holding onto her hand roughly, I said gritting my teeth, "I am not asking. Get ready." Frowning, she left the kitchen in a storm. Looking at the cooks, I said, "Complete the meal." I waited outside and she came out. I smirked at my idea to get angry and opened the door for her. Turning to my bodyguards who were supposed to accompany us, I said, "You all remain here. I can protect myself and my wife." Sitting in the car, I drove off. "Isn't the weather nice?" I asked. No response. "It's heated in here," I said jokingly and turned on the AC. She turned her head the opposite direction. In silence, we reached the boutique and went inside. As Shehnaaz was looking around, I looked at my phone but didn't get anything I wanted. Holding my grip tighter, I gritted my teeth saying, "I knew you are up to something rotten." Looking at the location of the bodyguard I sent behind Oscar, I saw it in my office building. "What is he still doing there?" I asked confused. Quickly, I called one of my subordinates and asked him to search the building for him. Nervously, I turned around and looked at Shehnaaz busy with her shopping. Unable to control myself, I paced left to right in thought. "I can't leave Shehnaaz here alone. I haven't even brought any bodyguards to safeguard her. But I have to return to the office. What am I supposed to do?" I said softly to myself. "What are you supposed to do?" Shehnaaz asked startling me. I turned around and looked at her, cold sweating.

"What's wrong?" She asked concerned. Giving her a fake smile, I said, "Nothing. Are you done?" "No, I might take a few more hours," she said. "Hours!" I exclaimed. Looking at my watch, I was about to say something when my phone rang. Looking at her, I said, "Excuse me." I left, answering it and went to a corner asking directly, "Did you find him?" "Yes sir. He's dead on the terrace," my underling said. The ground from under my feet slipped at this news. "Ok, don't do anything. I'll be there shortly," I said and hung up. Shehnaaz was at the cashier as I went up to her and hurried her up saying, "Do quick. I have an emergency at the office." She frowned at me and paid. Collecting her dress, we left the boutique and I rushed to the office with her. Hurrying inside the building, I instructed the receptionist to escort Shehnaaz to my office as I ran off to the terrace. There was my worker with a slit throat, laying dead and bloody on the ground. My present underlings looked at me and I shook my head. "Oscar, you have proven my suspicion correct once more. Wait until I get ahold of you. You are gone," I said gritting my teeth. "Have you found anything?" I asked my workers. "No sir. No clues," one said. "CCTV?" I asked. "Nothing sir. The cameras here have been malfunctioning for some time now," he said. "And you idiots couldn't bring this to my attention earlier?" I yelled. They all bowed their heads in silence and I took a deep breath and calmed myself. "Inform his family," I said. "We have already sir," my worker said. I looked at the corpse once more and left. Going to my office, I was greeted with Shehnaaz chatting with someone whose suit I was familiar with. It was Prakash's father. As her eyes fell on me, he turned around and I frowned. "Do you have some work with me?" I asked. "No, I was just passing by and saw your wife. I thought that I would introduce myself to her. Afterall, we are family," he said. "My family has nothing to do with yours. Thanks to the useless son you bore," I said.

He left the office silently and Shehnaaz frowned upon me. "Can't you speak to elderly people respectfully?" She said. "I don't need your lecture right now. Let's go home," I said and turned around. "Just being related to Prakash is such big of a crime?" She asked. "Listen, I don't need you to be explaining right from wrong to me. My head is already heated, let's go before it comes out on you because I have already hurt you enough," I said storming back up to her. She lowered her eyes and took up her bag and followed me. Talking to Daksh on the phone, I said in the car, "Keep an eye on him. I will meet you in a while." I hung up and was driving to drop Shehnaaz home before I leave to check on Prakash. It was already evening and soon our party was going to begin. "Is there a problem?" Shehnaaz asked. "No. Why are you asking?" I asked looking straight ahead. "I know there is a problem. Why won't you tell me?" She asked. "I don't want to my professional and personal lives mixing," I said to avoid the topic. "Am I only part of part of your life?" She asked. "Shehnaaz," I said sighing, "Some things are better hidden. There is a reason that I will ever hide something from you. But I can assure you that you have nothing to worry about." I pulled into the yard saying that and stopped the car in front the door. "Go inside and get ready. Also, get Rahul ready. I will be back in a while," I said. She frowned silently at me and got out the car. I went to check on Daksh and Prakash and after being assured that our plan was working perfectly, I went back home and got ready. Standing and looking at my watch, waiting for Shehnaaz to come down, I spoke on the phone giving instructions, "Make sure that no one is allowed in that section of the building. I don't want anyone there. No workers, no guests, absolutely no one. Just keep an eye." Turning my head, my voice died out when my eyes fell on Shehnaaz.

She was looking drop dead gorgeous in her long black dress. My eyes wasn't willing to leave her and my brain and heart had no problem with that. My subordinate's voice kept calling sir in my ear and I hang up the phone to end it. Holding onto Rahul's hand, she ascended the stairs and stood opposite me. Staring at her with no words, she bent her head shyly and smiled. Someone rudely broke our moment by pulling the sleeves of my blazer and as I looked down at Rahul, he asked, "How is she looking?" I smiled and looked at her saying, "No words have been made yet to describe." Giving my hand to her, I asked, "Shall we?" She clutched onto my arm without any tantrums and we left to the party. Reaching, we entered and all the press people present snapped at us with their cameras. I was never before so proud to be in the company of someone. Shehnaaz's beauty made my chest wide in pride as I confidently held onto her hand and walked through the crowd. Leading Rahul and her to the front table, booked for our family, I asked them as they took their seats, "Do you want anything?" "No thanks," she said. "Rahul," I said looking at him. He shook his head in no and as I was about to say something to him, someone rested their hand on my back and I stood straight. Turning around, I shook his hand as one of my father's partners came to greet us. While conversing with him for a while, I looked at the entrance and saw Daksh. His eyes were fixed on me and gave me a nod. "Excuse me," I said and left the conversation. Going to him, he whispered, "The work is done." "Good. Now just make sure that no one suspects what is actually going on here," I said. "Don't worry sir, nothing will go wrong," he said. "Daksh," I heard Shehnaaz exclaiming from behind me. "Where are you and why aren't you coming home?" She asked coming in between us. "Nothing. I just have to work to do with Pra..." he started but before he could complete, I cut him saying, "Daksh, I think you should double check the security. I don't want any chaos tonight." He looked at me and I shook my head telling him that Shehnaaz was unaware. "Yes sir, I will get back to you," he said, "Excuse me." With that, he left without saying another word. Shehnaaz turned to me confused and before she could ask anything, I asked, "Do you need something?" "I was going to the washroom," she said. Nodding, I said, "Ok." "Why are you sweating?" She asked with narrowed eyes. Touching my forehead, I said, "No. Not at all. I am only feeling a bit warm. Nothing else. You go." Saying that, I turned around and walked in the opposite direction. "This wife is turning into a detective by the day," I said wiping off the sweat.
