Chapter Twelve
Finally
Cleos POV
I heard howling over the speaker as I was in the girls bathroom straightening out my clothes
"Welcome to high school hell" he said and I shook my head laughing at him
"I'm your host, Boris Karloff, Junior" he said and then slammed the microphone down and laughed into it.
"It's time to meet our three contestants, Sarah, Mary and Winifred Sanderson." He said and I walked out the bathroom and saw the sisters walking so I hid and saw Binx walk out of the room
"Read any good spell books lately?" Max asked and Binx hissed and then barked? At the sisters
"Hag tracks" Winifred said and the sisters got into formation and then pulled the bottom of their dresses up and started to walk
"Get him." Winifred said and they walked to Binx and I went to the library and took the radio bringing it to the art room and to the clay melter
"Hello. Welcome to the library" the women on the radio said and then started to speak in French which caused the sisters to go to clay melter
"I would like a book" the radio said and then translated it . The sisters shushed each other
"What kind of book are you looking for?" The radio asked another question and the sisters walked into the melter/burner and yelled then chuckled
"We got them! We got them!" Winifred said and started to jump but then quickly realized that it was only the radio
"I am looking for a children's book" the radio said and they stared at it
"Hello?" Winifred asked and we slammed the door on them and they screamed as we turned on the burner binx jumped on my shoulder as we watched them burn
"Wretches!
Fire" Winifred said and stared to blow air out of her mouth
"Fire" Sarah whispered
"It's hot. It's hot" Winifred said and we watched them burn before running out
"Max come on" I yelled and grabbed his hand and we ran out of the school following after Dani and Allison.
We walked outside and saw them dancing around
"Farewell, Winifred sanderson" Max screamed into the air and we all laughed as we danced around
"Burn! Burn! All right! Yeah!" Max continued to yell
"holt crap max they're actually dead" I said and he grabbed my face
"Hell yeah they are" he said as he leaned in and kissed my forehead
We then walked over and hugged Allison and Dani spinning around
"Yeah! All right!" Max yelled and we ran to the school field Allison and Dani ran to it and I hung back with max
We leaned against the fence and sighed
"We did it , Binx. We stopped them" max said as we looked at binx that was on the tree
"I've wanted to do that for 300 years, since they took Emily" he said and we looked at him sadly
"You really miss her, don't you?" Max asked and binx nodded
"Binx, you can't keep blaming yourself for that. That happened so long ago. and I know for a fact that she's proud of you to this day" I exclaimed and he cat smiled at us
"Take good care of Dani , Max. You too Cleo. You'll never know how precious she is until you lose her" Binx said and left us alone together
"So we really did it huh?" I said and looked at him
"Yeah we did , you seem surprised, why's that?" He asked and turned to face me fully
"It just seems all too easy. They're witches , why was it so easy? I don't know that seems stupid sorry" I said and he pushed my hair behind my ear
"It's not stupid at all" he said
"Really?" I asked
"Really. Cleo you are one of the most smart badass girls over ever met" he said and I smiled at him
"Thanks max. I'm glad I met you" I stated and he smiled
"I'm glad I met you too" he exclaimed and I looked up into his eyes and then down at his lips seeing him doing the same thing
We leaned in and our lips finally connected with each other's . His hands held my waist as mine were behind his neck and shoulders. I felt his lips on mine, it felt like I was on cloud 9. His lips weren't chapped , they were soft almost delicate in a way. Our eyes were closed but I could tell we were both smiling.
I felt the world around us spinning, I almost forgot about everything that happened and The fact that Dani, Binx and Allison were all still there and watching until I heard a
"FINALLY" Dani yelled and we pulled away and laughed
"THE TENSION WAS IRRITATING" Allison yelled and I flipped her off and then I heard a gasp and saw binx with his mouth open
"I'm a cat and even I know it was irritating and could be cut with a knife" he said and I smiled at him
"We're idiots huh?" Max asked and I pushed his shoulder
"You, maybe but not me" I said and we laughed. I saw Binx start to walk away
"Hey Binx! Where do you think you're going?" Max asked and binx turned to us seeing us holding hands
"You're a Dennison, buddy. One of us" Max stated
"And hey if you get bored of boring old max here, you are a Castaneda now too" I said and max shoved my shoulder lightly
"Come on binx let's go home" Dani yelled
"Home" binx said dreamily and then ran to Dani
"Home" max said sarcastically
"Home" I stated and walked with max back to his house
However, I felt my phone vibrating in my back pocket and I stopped walking to see my dad calling
"Shit. Hey guys just wait up for me" I said and they stopped walking as I answered the call
"Hey dad" I said
"Cleo Athena Castaneda, where the hell are you and why aren't you at Allison's house?" He asked angrily
"Well I left with her a few hours ago, we just went to walk around. However , why weren't you with mom at town hall?" I asked and heard him scoff
"Why were you at town hall?" He exclaimed and I threw my hands up into the air
"I needed to find you and mom. That was the only place I thought, why are you dodging the question?" I asked
"I'm not. I've been at the house, Cleo we will talk about this later , now goodbye" he said and hung the phone up
"B-" I went to say but he cut me off
"Okay we can go now" I said and we continued walking towards maxs house
