After Lena and Alura enjoyed their night at Sam and Ruby's, the duo returned to Kara's apartment for the night, with Lena saying a brief hello/goodbye to Alex as she left from having her sister's night with Kara. Alura however didn't get a chance to speak to her aunt Alex, because she had completely passed out on the car ride home from Sam and Ruby's, which meant that Lena had to carry the five-year-old into the apartment, trying her best not to wake her. After that, Lena put Alura to bed, before then joining Kara in her, now their, bedroom, and settling in for the evening.
It is now Thursday morning, and as has become the usual routine, Kara and Lena are both waking up in bed together. Both women still can't help but grow happy smiles on their faces as soon as they wake up and see the other lying next to them. Even though Kara and Lena have been together for 4, going on 5, months now (minus the month they broke up), they both still get the thrill of waking up wrapped in one another. In fact, both Kara and Lena are pretty sure that that feeling is never going to go away, and they will have many many many years together to continue to feel this way. Kara and Lena just can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together, and after everything they have been through, as well as Alura, they are both confident in themselves to know that will be the case, even if they aren't married, at least yet. Marriage will come one day, but not just yet, both Kara and Lena want to continue to grow outside of marriage before they take that massive step. But for now, they are taking the big step of moving in together.
"Mhmmmmm..... morning darling." Lena says, with a yawn, as she wakes up and notices Kara snuggling closer to her, signalling to the Luthor that her beautiful alien girlfriend is awake.
"Hmmmm... morning....." Kara hums, burying her head in Lena's chest.
Lena breaks out into a wide smile as she feels Kara move her head further and further into her. Lena honestly doesn't think that she will ever get used to receiving such unconditional love and affection from her girlfriend, her years being raised by the Luthors have scarred her on the affection front. But perhaps now Lena is actually reaping the rewards of all the horrors she went through. As now any affection or love from both Kara and/or Alura is heightened tenfold, due to Lena's lack of it growing up, even if that is a terribly sad thing.
"Did you sleep well, darling?" Lena asks, as she places a kiss on one of Kara's cheeks.
"Always sleep well with you." Kara mumbles, sleepily, into Lena's chest.
Lena chuckles, while also feeling her heart literally skip a beat. Lena just loves Kara so much.
"I love you." Lena says, not having anything else to say right now, just being completely overwhelmed by Kara's love, and needing to express that love right back to Kara.
"Love you too." Kara mumbles.
Lena just lays there for a while, deciding to soak the moment in, as she thinks, what is the point of these moments if she doesn't actually take time to truly appreciate and enjoy them? However, eventually 10 minutes pass, and Lena knows that, unfortunately, she has to get up to go to work.
"Darling, I need you to move. I have to go to work." Lena says, in a sad tone.
"Noooo." Kara moans, still mumbling into Lena's chest. "Stay here."
Lena shoots a sad smile at Kara, even though she knows her girlfriend can't see her.
"I'm sorry darling, but I can't. I have some important business to attend to today." Lena explains.
Kara lets out a huff and moves away from Lena's chest, before then turning over, looking away from Lena.
"Oh, come on darling, don't be like that." Lena says.
"Hmmm." Kara says, still in a huff.
Lena shakes her head, while also rolling her eyes, now seeing where Alura gets her stubbornness from. Lena focuses her eyes on Kara for a moment, before she then gets an idea. Lena moves over on the bed, so her body is on top of Kara's, and then places kisses on Kara's cheeks and neck.
"Come on darling, don't be upset. I love you." Lena says, continuing to pepper Kara's cheek with kisses.
"Hhmmm." Kara replies, in a slightly softer tone.
Lena however doesn't just plan to kiss Kara, she is going to completely tease her, as while she has been distracting Kara with kisses, she has moved her hand down to Kara's waistband, and now slips it inside.
"Ohhhhh." Kara moans, suddenly feeling Lena's fingers on her crotch area.
Lena grows a big smirk on her face upon hearing that response from her girlfriend.
"Now...." Lena says, as she continues to tease Kara, with her lips and her fingers, "If you are a good girl..... maybe I'll finish you off later."
Lena quickly pulls her hand away from Kara's crotch area, and then gets off of the bed, placing one last kiss on Kara's cheek. Kara groans, frustrated. Lena then walks out of the bedroom, looking over her shoulder at Kara, with a smirk on her face.
*********************
After Lena leaves Kara's apartment, Kara stays in bed for the next 20 minutes, although she cannot get back to sleep, simply because she finds it difficult to sleep without Lena by her side. Although, Kara's currently difficulties sleeping may also have something to do with Lena's teasing before leaving the bedroom. So, eventually, after 20 minutes, Kara gets out of bed and makes her way to the bathroom, to relieve herself in multiple fashions.
Once Kara has done her business, she then begins her day, deciding that she will let Alura sleep in for as long as she likes this morning. Kara knows that Alura will probably be upset that she wasn't awake to say goodbye to Lena, or ask to go to work with her, so Kara thinks letting Alura sleep is probably a good idea, as that will be less time for the five-year-old to be consciously away from Lena. Kara actually is quite looking forward to today, seeing as it is her first day off from CatCo, as she doesn't start her new position at L-Corp until next week. However, Kara isn't looking forward to today because she sees it as an opportunity to be lazy or anything. Kara is looking forward to today as seeing as Lena is at work, and Alura is staying with her, she actually gets to spend some one-on-one time with Alura. Kara loves Lena, and also loves how much Alura loves Lena, but over the last few weeks Kara has kind of felt left out at times, although she knows it is mostly because of the separation anxiety that Alura has developed with Lena, which is totally understandable.
About an hour after Kara gets up, Alura finally wakes up, and comes sleepily walking into the kitchen/living room area, rubbing her eyes with her hands. Kara, by this point, has already had a shower.
"Hey, sweetie." Kara smiles at Alura, turning around to look at her from the couch.
Alura looks at Kara and slowly walks towards her, before then sitting on the couch and snuggling into her mommy's side.
"Mommy." Alura mumbles, resting her head on Kara.
"Are you still tired?" Kara asks, in a caring tone, brushing some hair from Alura's face.
"Hgmmmhmmm." Alura mumbles.
Kara wants to laugh, as she realises that she gave a very similar response to Lena earlier this morning. Alura really is Kara's daughter after all.
"If you are still tired, why don't you go back to bed? And sleep a bit longer." Kara suggests.
"Noo." Alura protests, "Don't want to."
"Okay..." Kara replies, softly, "What do you want to do?"
"Stay.... here." Alura says.
Kara smiles at Alura, even though the five-year-old has her eyes closed.
"Okay. We can stay here for a while then." Kara says.
Alura nods her head slightly, and then continues to rest on Kara's side. Kara then sits there, going through her phone and looking at various things on the internet and social media. Meanwhile, Alura falls back to sleep on Kara's side.
About 30 minutes later, Alura stirs from her sleep again, which Kara is kind of glad about, because Alura resting on her side was starting to make her arm ache from not being able to move it. Kara may be Kryptonian, but still, her not moving her arm, with weight pressed against it, for a long period of time, makes it ache just like a human's would.
"Hhmmmm." Alura hums, as she wakes up.
Kara just watches her daughter wake, realising that she actually hasn't got to witness this beautiful sight, of her daughter waking up, for a while. Eventually, Alura does wake up and then moves away from Kara, rubbing her eyes once more.
"Morning, again." Kara says, with a big smile on her face, "Feeling less tired now?"
"Hmmmmm.... yes." Alura says, as she finishes rubbing her eyes.
"Good." Kara smiles, "So, what do you want to do today?"
Alura looks up at Kara, and then moves her head to look around the apartment.
"Where's momma?" Alura asks.
"Momma had to go to work." Kara explains.
"But I didn't get to see her." Alura says, with a sad pout.
"Oh baby, that's because you were sleeping. You had a late night last night." Kara replies, "But don't be upset, we will see momma again soon enough, once she gets home from work. In fact, this evening I'm going to help momma move some of her stuff over here, so her penthouse can start to have the work done to it, before we all move in there."
Alura's eyes light up upon hearing that, the five-year-old very interested about anything that involves them all living together.
"Will there be a swimming pool?" Alura asks, remembering her request.
Kara chuckles.
"I'm not sure." Kara replies, "You'll have to wait and see."
"Okay." Alura nods.
"Now, what would you like for breakfast?" Kara asks her daughter, with a big grin on her face.
"Uhmmmmmmmmmm." Alura says, biting her lip, "pancakes?"
Kara chuckles.
"That's my girl." Kara says, with a smirk.
Alura breaks out into a big smile upon hearing Kara say that.
After breakfast Kara and Alura spend a really nice day together, enjoying each other's company, with Alura being particularly snuggly with Kara throughout the day. Kara likes to think it's because her daughter has missed spending some quality time with her, but in reality, Kara is aware it's most likely because of Alura's attachment issues with Lena, and her needing someone to kind of cling onto for comfort. None the less, Kara made the most of her day with Alura. After they ate their breakfast, and were both washed and dressed, Kara decided that they might as well go to the park as Alura loves it there, playing outside, and Kara knows it's a good way to get some energy out of her daughter.
Once Kara and Alura arrive at the park, they first make a stop at the playground area, which only has a few other children playing on it, much to Alura's happiness. While Alura isn't really shy, in regards to other children, she much prefers to either play by herself, or with a family member that she knows. Alura then began playing in the playground, first going down the slide a few times, and then having Kara push her on the swing for several minutes, before she then finishes her time by climbing on the monkey bars, with Kara, of course, by Alura's side, ready to catch her daughter if she falls. During Alura's time on the monkey she didn't fall, however, when she got to the end of the monkey bars, she just said 'catch me', to Kara, without giving any warning, and then let go, which gave Kara a mini heart attack. Kara literally had to quickly react, and move into position to catch her daughter, and may have even used a little bit of her super powers to do so.
"Alura!" Kara says, catching her breath now, due to the panic that shot through her.
"Yes, mommy?" Alura asks, as Kara places her daughter on the ground.
"Don't do that! You scared the life out of me!" Kara says.
"But I knew you'd catch me." Alura replies, innocently.
"I know. But, you have to give me some warning, so I can get in place. Please." Kara says.
"Okay, mommy. I'm sorry." Alura says, with a little frown on her face as she looks up at Kara.
Kara sighs, and then takes in a deep breath to calm her nerves.
"Oh, come here." Kara says, opening her arms to Alura.
Alura quickly walks over to Kara, and the blonde then takes her daughter in for a hug.
"It's okay, you just scared me, that's all." Kara says, as she strokes Alura's head, while she continues to hug her.
"Okay." Alura replies, nodding her head into Kara's stomach as she hugs her back.
A few moments later, Kara and Alura's hug is interrupted by a little girl tugging on Kara's coat.
"Excuse me?" The little girl asks.
Kara and Alura end their hug, and Kara turns to look at the young girl, who looks to be about Alura's age, maybe a bit younger.
"Yes?" Kara smiles, "Can I help you?"
"Are you..... Supergirl?" The young girl asks, whispering the last word.
"Oh uhhh." Kara says, very much not expect this young girl to ask her that.
"I saw you move really fast." The young girl says, pointing to the spot by the monkey bars.
Kara looks at her daughter, and then looks at the young girl again, before then crouching down to be at the young girl's level.
"Yes, but let it be our little secret." Kara says, with a slight smirk on her face.
The young girl breaks out into a very big smile.
"Okay." The young girl says, "You saved my daddy."
"Oh, did I?" Kara asks, with a smile.
"Yes." The young girl nods, "Thank you."
"You're welcome little one." Kara beams.
"Mommy, I want to go." Alura interrupts, tugging Kara's hand.
Kara looks at Alura and nods her head, before then looking back at the young girl.
"Well, it was very nice to meet you." Kara smiles.
"You too. Bye Supergirl." The girl says, but not loudly.
Kara then smiles as she watches the young girl walk away, and back over to her mother, who is sitting on a bench.
"What did you talk to that lady about?" The mother asks.
"It's a secret." The young girl replies.
Kara and Alura, meanwhile, make their way out of the playground, with Alura now holding onto Kara's hand. Kara isn't stupid, she totally understands what Alura is doing. Kara knows that Alura gets jealous sometimes when Kara interacts with other children, and that is why Alura asked them to leave, as she wants her mommy to herself. Admittedly, Kara can't help but sort of enjoy Alura's jealousy, as it does make her feel very loved by her daughter. Although Kara isn't sure if that feeling makes her a bad person or not.
"What do you want to do now?" Kara asks, deciding not to mention Alura's jealousy.
"Hmmmmmm..... Can we see the ducks?" Alura asks.
Kara smiles at Alura, widely.
"Of course, we can." Kara replies, "We will go see the ducks, and then get some lunch, and after that, go back home. How does that sound?"
"Good." Alura replies, nodding her head.
Kara and Alura then do just that. The two make their way over to the big pond in the park, with Kara sitting on a bench while Alura walks about the shore front, looking at all the ducks in the pond. Kara then joined Alura, with the mother and daughter doing a circle of the pond before then leaving the park to get their lunch.
**************
It is now 1:30PM, and Kara and Alura are just arriving home after having eaten their lunch. Kara hopes that Alura has enjoyed today, as honestly, at times, Kara sometimes is a bit lost in regards to activities that she can do with Alura. Kara knows they could do stuff like go swimming, or go to the beach, or go to a museum or something, but she never likes doing those sorts of things on her own; previously Kara has always had one of her friends with her, and now she feels she should wait to do it with Lena.
"We're home." Kara smiles, as the mother and daughter walk inside.
Alura runs inside, walking past Kara as she does. Kara can't help but chuckle.
"What do you want to do now?" Kara asks.
"Uhmmmmmmm....... Can we watch a movie?" Alura asks, sweetly.
Kara chuckles again.
"Sure." Kara smiles, "But I'm gonna guess you want to put on a Disney one?"
"Yes!!!" Alura says, excitedly, nodding her head.
"Okay, go ahead." Kara replies, "Choose whatever you want. I'm just going to go to the bathroom."
"Okay, mommy." Alura says, and then goes racing over to the TV to pick the Disney film they are going to watch.
Kara goes to the bathroom, and then as she is walking out, her phone rings. Kara looks at it and sees that Lena is calling her, which puts a big smile on her face.
"Hey, Lee." Kara smiles, happily.
Lena sighs on the line.
"Hi, Kara." Lena says, in a dejected tone.
"Oh, sounds like you are having a bad day, what's up?" Kara asks, recognising her girlfriend's tone.
"Yeah, I am. There was a fire in one of the labs here at L-Corp, and I'm currently going through everything. We don't know what caused the fire yet, but we do know that around $4,000,000 of lab equipment and tech has been destroyed or damaged beyond repair because of it. So, it is all just a lot." Lena explains.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Kara replies, very much sympathising with her girlfriend. "Is there anything you need me to do?"
"No, I just wanted to hear your voice while I take a break." Lena says.
"Yeah, okay." Kara replies, a small smile on her face now. Usually Kara would smile widely after hearing that comment from Lena, but she doesn't think it would be appropriate right now with what Lena is dealing with, even though Lena can't see her.
"I don't think I'm going to be home until very late tonight." Lena says.
"Oh..." Kara says, sadly.
"I'm sorry. I know we said we'd move some of my stuff over to your place tonight, but I just don't think I'm going to be able to be out of here anytime soon." Lena explains.
"It's okay, I understand." Kara replies, "How about, when you can, you give me a list of all the stuff you want from your apartment, and Alex and I can move it tomorrow, while you are at work."
"Oh, does Alex not have work?" Lena asks.
"No. J'onn is giving Alex tomorrow off, because she went in on her day off on Tuesday. Plus, Alex kind of wants it to prepare for her date with Sam." Kara explains.
"Oh, right. We are having a sleep over." Lena says, not sounding too excited about that.
Kara notices Lena's lack of enthusiasm.
"I know you may not want to do that now Lee, because you'd just want to spend your Friday evening relaxing. Usually I'd totally say we could cancel, but this date, and evening, is REALLY important to Alex." Kara explains.
"Oh." Lena replies, figuring out what Kara must be suggesting, both from her girlfriend's tone, and from the conversation she had with Alex just over a week ago, before she left for Midvale. "Yeah, we shouldn't cancel."
"Yes, okay." Kara replies, nodding her head. "But, if tomorrow gets too much for you, you can just go to bed, and we can say you are tired, and I'll keep Ruby and Alura entertained."
"No, I should be fine. Just as long as you are by my side, I'll immediately feel better." Lena says.
Kara can't help but smile, massively, upon hearing that.
"Okay." Kara says, still smiling.
"Can I speak to Alura?" Lena asks, "I want to speak to her, seeing as I didn't see her this morning, and I won't see her tonight."
"Oh right.... yeah.... she's not going to be happy about that." Kara says, now only realising how upset Alura is going to be at not getting to see Lena today.
"I know." Lena says, in a sad tone, "That's why I should tell her."
"Yeah, okay. How about I put you on a video call first, so you can see each other?" Kara suggests.
"Sure." Lena replies.
Kara then taps on her phone and request a video call with Lena, which Lena accepts. Kara then sees Lena's face appear on her phone screen.
"Hey, beautiful." Kara smiles.
Lena chuckles.
"Hey, my gorgeous darling." Lena smiles back.
"Your gorgeous darling?" Kara teases.
"Why, are you someone else's?" Lena shoots back, with a smirk, and an eyebrow raised.
"No, only yours. I've always been yours." Kara smiles, lovingly.
"Oh, you do know how to sweet-talk me." Lena smiles.
"Yes, and you know how to get me worked up and leave me hanging." Kara quickly replies.
"Oh.... yes." Lena says, remembering this morning, "I'm sorry I won't be able to finish what I started this evening."
"That's okay. I had to finish without you already." Kara says, with a small smirk.
Lena groans upon hearing that, being turned on by the thought of Kara pleasuring herself after she turned her on.
Kara chuckles.
"Anyway, shall I pass you over to Alura?" Kara asks.
"Sure." Lena nods.
Kara then walks down the hallway, back into her living room, where Alura is now sitting on the couch, with a remote in her hand, clearly patiently waiting for Kara to return so they can begin watching their Disney movie.
"Alura, I have momma on the phone here. She wants to speak with you." Kara explains.
Alura turns to look at Kara, and her eyes light up.
"Gimme." Alura says, putting her hands out in a grabbing motion.
Kara chuckles and then hands her phone to Alura.
"Momma." Alura smiles, happily, upon seeing Lena on the phone screen.
"Hello, darling. How are you?" Lena asks.
"Good." Alura replies, "I didn't see you this morning."
"I know, and I'm sorry about that. I just didn't want to wake you." Lena replies.
"That's okay." Alura replies, sweetly, "When will you be home?"
Lena bites her lip, nervously, knowing she is about to disappoint her daughter, and then sighs.
"That's actually why I wanted to speak with you now, darling. I'm sorry, but I won't be home tonight before you go to sleep." Lena explains, in a sad tone.
"What?" Alura replies, her eyes going wide, and tears appearing.
"I'm so sorry, and I do really want to spend the evening with you and mommy, but there has been a fire here at L-Corp, and I have to deal with everything as a result of it." Lena explains.
"Ar... are you okay, mommy?" Alura asks, through a few tears appearing in her eyes.
Lena, as usual when talking with Alura, feels her heart strings being pulled. Even though Alura is upset that Lena is not coming home this evening, she is still taking the time to ask Lena if she is okay, after hearing about the fire.
"I'm fine darling." Lena says, "And I'm really sorry I can't come home tonight."
"Can't.... can't you work here?" Alura asks, tears now falling down Alura's face. "I want to see you today momma."
Lena now feels her own tears threatening to appear, but she knows she can't allow herself to cry, as that will just make everything worse for Alura.
"No. I can't, I'm sorry." Lena says, apologising again. "But, I'll tell you what, tomorrow, I'll come home from work early, and you can have lunch with me and mommy here, and I will finish our necklaces I promised, while we can also pick up your suit tomorrow."
Alura doesn't reply for a few moments, just crying a bit.
"Alura, please don't cry." Lena says, with so much sympathy in her voice.
Kara now moves over and sits down next to Alura on the couch, placing a comforting hand on her daughter's leg.
"It's okay baby, you will see momma tomorrow." Kara says, comforting her daughter, knowing she is finding this difficult because of her valid attachment issues with Lena.
Alura continues to cry for a few more minutes, while Kara and Lena both continue to comfort her. Lena, for her part, really is tempted to just say she will come home, as she can't stand to see that she has made her daughter upset. However, Lena knows that if she does leave work, things will just be chaos, and it will set a very bad precedent for Alura.
Eventually, about 5 minutes later, Alura stops crying, with Kara now hugging her tightly.
"Alura, I'm so sorry. But I have to go now." Lena says, with a sad look on her face, "But I promise we'll see each other tomorrow, and when I come home tonight, I'll come into you, and give you a kiss, even if you are asleep."
"O...okay." Alura replies, still sadly.
Kara now looks at Lena on the phone, now being the one holding it while Alura cuddles her.
"I'm sorry." Lena says to Kara.
"It's okay. I'll see you later." Kara says.
"Yeah.... okay.... love you." Lena says.
"Love you too." Kara replies, with a small smile.
"Love you Alura." Lena calls out.
"Love you momma." Alura mumbles.
Lena has one last sad look on her face before she then ends the call.
"Okay, Alura." Kara says, "Why don't we watch the Disney movie now, and we can spend the rest of the day cuddled up on the couch here?"
"O...okay." Alura mumbles, continuing to hug Kara's side, still clearly upset.
Kara and Alura then proceed to watch the Disney movie that Alura choose. Throughout the rest of the afternoon, and the night, Alura remains dejected, and clearly still upset that Lena won't be coming home to see her this evening.
*********************
Its is now just after midnight, and Lena is still at L-Corp, in one of the labs next to the one that the fired was in. Lena sent everyone else home a few hours ago, despite some of them wanting to stay and help their boss, because they are very passionate about their work. However, Lena didn't want even more families to have to deal with what she is currently going through with Alura, so she sent them all home, and just continued working herself.
Lena and the scientists had been going through all of the remains in the lab, trying to take an inventory of everything, so they could figure out everything that needs to be replaced. Throughout this process Lena and the scientists have been able to piece together the remains of almost everything that is unaccounted for, apart from one item, Lena's prototype alien detection device. The alien detection device is something that Lena had been working on for a while, but recently she has put it on hold, thinking better of it. However, some of her scientists had asked to have a look at it, to see how they could apply the technology to be used in a way that could help aliens, rather than be used to potentially discriminate against them.
Lena rubs her eyes with her hands, very tired from her long day, but not wanting to leave until she can find the remains of the alien detection device. Lena makes her way back over to the computer she is using to log everything, and that is when she notices a strange email appear in her private L-Corp email inbox, titled "FIRE EVIDENCE!". At first Lena thinks that maybe one of her scientists has been doing more work from home, and has come across something, but she then looks at the email address the email is sent from, and it's just a completely random, and obvious throwaway, email address.
Lena clicks on the email, and that is when she sees there is a short video embedded. Lena plays the video, and it shows security footage of the lab that the fire occurred in. Lena watches as suddenly in the middle of the room a shadow figure appears for a few seconds, and then the fire begins, before the shadow figure disappears again. Lena sees that, at that time, none of the few scientists in the room were facing in that direction, so they couldn't have seen anything that occured.
"What the..." Lena says, both shocked and surprised.
The footage then cuts off.
Lena finds this incredibly strange and worrying, because not only does this mean that something, like a shadow, broke into one of her high security private labs, but someone else managed to hack into the security footage of the labs. As after the fire, one of the first things Lena's technicians went through was the labs security footage, but the footage was unrecoverable, due to how the fire had damaged the security camera in the lab. However, Lena now knows that that clearly wasn't the case.
Lena plays the video again, focusing on the shadow figure. After that she plays it again, and again, and again, but can't really make out anything. Once Lena has played the video through almost 20 times, she then turns back to the email and replies, deciding that she might as well reply, as at this point, she doesn't have anything to lose in replying to this anonymous email.
"Who are you?" Lena writes.
Lena doesn't expect a reply, but about 30 seconds later she gets one.
"An ally." The email replies.
"Did you cause this fire?" Lena asks. However, a few seconds after Lena sends the email, she gets an email back saying the email could not be sent, because the email address no longer exists.
