IT WAS THE DAY...

It was the day of the Ceremony. The day to send off his Soul. It was the day we came to Peace.

And it was the day, I had to do what I never thought I had to do - say goodbye.

I stared at the mirror and the reflection of a girl stared back at me.

Really?

Was that really me?

There was nothing in the girl, in the reflection, that resembled the Weslyn Grayson who had came to Gray Valley 3 months ago to put together her broken memories.

Nothing.

I let out a breath and looked back at my reflection.

I had changed.

I had changed from 3 months ago.

And it was not only on the outside; I had changed on the inside.

I had loved and I had lost.

And that had changed me.

A movement in the mirror caught my eye and distracted me from my own thoughts.

"Weslyn."

Blayze.

He had come back from the Mountains.

"I heard that the Ceremony is... Today."

There was silence.

I was too afraid to speak.

If I did speak I was afraid I would change my decision to have the Ceremony.

But I had to.

I had to send off the man I loved, as it was what was best, for everyone.

For him. For me.

For Blayze.

And... For everyone in my life.

"Are you alright?"

"Y-yes," I managed. "I am alright, Blayze."

I turned to look at him.

The expression on his face concerned me.

Empty.

It was an empty expression that I was used to seeing on my own face.

"Are you alright?"

"I met... Melanie."

I froze.

Did he find out who she was? Did he find out who he was?

"You did?"

I was careful with my choice of words.

"I did."

I glanced up at him, again, just in time to see his face flash with pain.

"She told me... That she is my mother." I nodded. "And that... Liam is my... Brother."

I took a breath and nodded in response.

"And she told me that... I am not alone... Because I have family. She is me family. And Liam was my family." He paused. "But we never did get along. Did we... Weslyn?"

The pain was evident in his voice.

"Blayze... Please. It's in the past."

"The hostility between Liam and I was because of me... I was responsible for that."

No.

And, as much as I didn't want to remember Liam for his hostility, it was true.

It was not just Blayze who was responsible.

Liam did not hide his hostility when it came to Blayze.

"No, Blayze, you were both responsible."

"Weslyn, you were his Soulmate, he had reason to be possessive. But... I am different. I may be your Soulmate, too, but we don't have the same bond. So... I had no reason."

"You were alone, Blayze, and-"

"Weslyn, if I had known I had family - that I had him - I wouldn't have been alone. Or... Insecure. I wouldn't have been insecure about you... You; who were my only hope for family.  I would not have came between the two of you. There would not have been hostility. I would have got along with him. I would have got along with... My brother."

"But there's no way you could have known."

"There is a way."

I looked at him in confusion.

"When we did that Blood Exchange, I was in pain but his blood was familiar and it made me feel... Complete. I thought it was because he was your Soulmate and that it was your presence in him that made me complete. But, it was him. It was his presence that made me feel complete. I should have realised, then, that we shared blood... That he was my flesh and blood."

"Blayze," I reasoned. "The hostility between the two of you began before that Blood Exchange."

"I could have changed." He paused. "And he may have been alive. If I had realised, Weslyn, if I had not came between the two of you or if I had changed, he may have been alive, today. It's my fault!"

But... How could he have changed when he hadn't realised who he and Liam were?

I started to explain this to him when I noticed it.

"Blayze...?"

His eyes had changed; black had seeped into the brown and grey.

He was losing control of his emotions. And thus, he was losing control of himself.

This was bad.

If he didn't calm down, there was a chance he would shift and hurt the members of the Pack, or himself.

And that was a chance I could not take.

"Blayze, calm down!"

But he did not calm down.

His eyes transitioned to black and I heard his heart beat increase.

"Blayze!"

He did not respond.

Bad. This was really bad.

He could start to shift at any moment

"Blayze," I whispered, I reached out and took his hands into mine. His eyes fell on our hands. "Please, look at me, Blayze."

He hesitated but did as I asked and lifted his eyes onto mine.

"You couldn't have known that he was your family and you were not responsible for his death, Blayze."

A tear fell down his cheek as he stared me.

And with that, his eyes began to return to their colour and he started to gain control over himself.

"It was not your fault. And the past is in the past, Blayze. You couldn't have known that he was your family; and that you are not alone." The tears fell down his face as I spoke. "It is in the past... And we cannot change the past. So we can hate ourselves for his death or we can live. I know what he would have wanted. So, do you understand? It was not your fault, Blayze."

He took a breath and nodded.

I let my fingers brush away the tears that stained his cheeks.

"Weslyn-"

He was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"It's me."

I did not expect to hear the sound of Bryan's voice.

I turned to look at the door.

He did not come to my room unless it was important.

And from his voice and the expression on his face, it seemed that it was important.

"Come in, Bryan."

He walked through the door and looked between Blayze and I.

I sensed his hesitation.

"It's alright, Bryan."

He nodded and started to explain. "I didn't want to tell you about this but Anna insisted."

"Insisted?"

"Why?" I asked.

"Mary," he told me. "Anna said that Mary is suffering from Wolf Suppression; and with the full moon approaching, the transition and suppression of her wolf will be complete in the next days, unless there is intervention."

Wolf Suppression.

I had experienced Wolf Suppression.

I could not remember it. However... I could remember the effects.

The effects that I was suffering with for 8 years.

And now, if there was no intervention, Mary would start suffering from Wolf suppression and the same effects.

"Anna said that it would be best if you decided what to do with her now." He continued. "That is, if you want her dead or alive or... If you want her to have complete Wolf Suppression and become human."

If I had been told to decide, a month ago, I would have let her complete the transition, without hesitation.

But... I had changed.

I knew what was right and what was wrong.

As a Human... As a Werewolf...

As the Alpha of the Luna Pack...

I knew what I had to do.
