LUCA'S POV:
I woke up without a care in the world this morning. I dreamed about being in albertos arms the whole night.
"Luca?", Giulia says interrupting my thought.
"O-oh u-uh yeah?", I say snapping out of my trance.
"Come on were gonna go get Gelato before we gotta come back here and get ready!", she says disappearing from my view.
I get and follow her.
Alberto's already waiting outside.
"Good morning Giulia", he says. Then looking at me. "Good morning luca", he smiles.
"Good morning alberto!!", I say.
"Lets go i want gelato!!", Giulia says pushing us out of the gate.
The walk downtown was filled with laughter. I was sure going to miss this. And Alberto.
Only 12 more days until Genova...
As we sat down at our table. Giulia order chocolate chip. While alberto and I ordered vanilla and strawberry.
Our classical favorite mix.
"So, we all excited and pumped?", alberto asks.
"Im so ready!!", Giulia says.
"Im ready...but nervous!!" I say biting down on my lip.
"It'll all be okay luca", alberto says patting my shoulder.
A lady then appears, handing us our ice cream. "Enjoy!"
Giulia digs in.
I fed alberto his ice cream while he does the same to me.
Giulia looks at us wide eyed.
"Did I miss something?"
"Not not at all", alberto smirks.
Just then he brings his hand to my face and wipes it.
"You had a little something there", he says standing up.
"Be right back im gonna go pay the tip", he says planting a kiss on my forehead.
Giulia looks at me. Mouth wide open. The ice cream in her spoon falls down onto the ground. "Explain luca", she says crossing her arms giving me a smirk.
ERCOLE'S POV:
As i watched alberto plant a kiss on luca's forehead I realized they were serious.
*Ercole's backstory for revenge*
I initially wanted to kill luca, because he beat me in the race.
But seeing how close he was to alberto, made me realize, my revenge on luca would be so much better if I made him suffer, by taking the one thing he adores the most. Alberto.
Sweet revenge will be mine.
ALBERTO'S POV:
"We ready to go?", I say coming back from inside.
They both nod.
As soon as we got back to Giulias we got ready for the cup.
I wanted to go check on luca, to see if he was ready to go down to the starting line where Massimo and his parents and granny were waiting. But instead I found him pacing in his room.
"Luca?"
"Oh! Alberto I didnt see you there!", he says laughing.
"Whats on your mind?", I ask lifting his chin to look at me.
He hesitates.
"Nothing j-just nervous!"
I raise a brow. Im not totally convinced.
"Come on we gotta get to the starting line" he says changing the subject. Grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the door.
"Luca no please!! What is it!!", I say tugging on him arm.
"Alberto", luca says impatience growing.
"Luca please you can-"
"ALBERTO ENOUGH!! I DONT HAVE TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING!! ITS FINE!!", luca snaps.
I back up tears swelling up in my eyes.
I quickly run out of the room not wanting to be rude back.
I could hear him call my name but I just kept running.
Suddenly the towns loudspeakers announce for everyone in the race to get in there positions and they'd be starting shortly.
LUCA'S POV:
"Oh alberto...wait!!", I say running after him.
Giulia follow out the door after me.
I lost him.
"What happened !?!", she asks.
"I snapped at h-",
Suddenly the loudspeakers came on telling everyone in the race to get in position.
"Talk later!!", Giulia yells running down towards the water.
I sigh. And run to where I'm supposed to go. I'd have to see alberto there because the pasta table was right by the bikes.
ERCOLE'S POV:
As I put Cullen into position to go swimming. I kept wondering how'd I'd kill alberto.
But I had to settle on killing luca.
Since I'd be biking with him anyways.
I had my harpoon tucked in my back waistband on my shorts.
ALBERTO'S POV:
As I sat at the pasta table waiting, I saw luca getting into position to bike. He turns around and looks at me. I look away not wanting to cry. Why did he snap at me what is bothering him so mu-
*GUNSHOT NOISE*
The race has started.
I took a deep heavy breath. You can do this alberto.
"Alberto!", I hear luca yell my name.
"Not now luca", I wanted to talk to him more than anything but I didn't wanna cry. Not here.
A couple more moments then I hear cheering and I see Giulia and Cullen running towards the pasta table.
I got ready picking up my fork.
As soon as Giulia tapped me I started eating.
Twisting and twisting, my fork. Bite after bite.
Somehow in the back of my mind luca kept me going.
I was going to forgive him after all I love him. I thought swallowing my last bite. Chris running to tap in ercole not to far behind me.
I tap luca and he's off.
You got this luca.
Right before I turn around something shiny hits my eyes. And I'm drawn too it.
Its coming from Ercole's waistband of his shorts on his back.
I couldn't make out what it was for a second.
It's a....
...harpoon.
Why does he have a harpoon.
I turned around questioning myself.
Why does he have a-
Then it hits me.
I remembered what luca said ercole said to him.
You never know what you have until you lose it.
Hes talking about LUCA. Hes gonna hurt luca!! I have to stop him. I take off in a run through an alleyway I knew cut off into part of the race track where not alot of people can see it. Thats where he was gonna do it.
LUCA'S POV:
The bike ride up the hill was excruciating.
But somehow albertos voice in the back off my mind kept me going.
Soon I heard someone peddling behind me.
Its ercole.
I have to start going faster.
Im almost to the top of the hill.
Push luca push!!
THERE.
I was now peddling easy level ground but I had to keep my pace up.
Suddenly in the distance I can see someone waving their arms frantically.
"BEHIND YOU LUCA! BEHIND YOU!!", the faint voice says .
Alberto?
I look behind.
There ercole was.
And there he was with a harpoon.
