"It seems, despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, ...you still have a security problem, Headmaster. I'm afraid it's quite extensive." Harry's said as the entire Order walked into the great hall
I stood at the front. Smirking
"How dare you stand where he stood? Tell them how it happened that night? Tell them how you looked him in the eye. A man who trusted you, and killed him. Tell them!" Harry shouted angrily at Snape
"COWARD!" Harry screamed at him when he didn't duel Minnie
Everyone cheered relieved to be safe, and Minnie waved a hand lighting the candles again
"Harry." I called when the boy fell over
"Potter?" Minnie asked worried
"I know that many of you will want to fight. Some of you might even think to fight is wise. But this is folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded. You have one hour." Voldemorts voice rung out around us
"What're you waiting for? Someone grab him!" Parkinson shouted pointing at him
Ginny stepped forward first, Hermione and Ron followed.
I stepped forward too, and the Order followed me
We all looked at the door at shouting
"Students out of bed! Students in the corridor!" Filch ran in shouting
"They're supposed to be out of bed, you blithering idiot!" Minnie snapped at him, I smirked and the twins gave small cheers for our old head of house
"Sorry ma'am." Filch apologised
"As it happens, Mr. Filch... Your arrival is most opportune. If you would, I wouldd like you please, to lead Miss Parkinson and the rest of Slytherin house, from the hall." Minnie told him
I smirked amused
"Exactly where is it I'll be leading 'em to, ma'am?" Filch asked
"The dungeons would do." Minnie concluded
As the Slytherins left, they walked through a purple glow at the door. I was scanning them all for threats, so we wouldn't be double crossed.
The younger kids got an instant purple flame and I used a spell to tell them all what it was for
"All clear" I nodded to the older Order members who relaxed knowing we had no threats right now
"I presume you have a reason for returning, Potter. What is it you need?" Minnie asked Harry
"Time, Professor. As much as you can get me." Harry replied
"Do what you have to do. I'll secure the castle." She nodded
"Potter... It's good to see you." She said quickly as the hall came to life
"It's good to see you too, Professor." Harry smiled
"Hold the fort, Neville." Harry said patting the boys shoulder
"Be careful" I grabbed Harry by the shoulders
Our eyes locked, a mutual understanding. He nodded, and ran off
"Let's go" I led the twins out the Hall
"Left Hal" George corrected my path
"Are you okay?" Fred asked worriedly
"I'm fine, I'm just using a bit extra power to try communicate with the Order members that are evacuating the younger students. They're being sent to Hogsmeade and Abaforth is sending them to my old house" I explained as we came to the ledge
"Totally normal" George chuckled and I smiled at my brother in law
We stood and as the older wizards and witches began to cast their protective spells into the sky, the three of us raised our own Wands too
"Protego Maxima. Fianto Duri. Repello Inimigotum" I mumbled the spell repeatedly light coming from my wand
"HAILEY NOW!" I heard Arthur shout up at me
Fred let go of my left hand, allowing me to use my powers
I took a deep breath and threw my hands upward, two purple lights shooting into the sky and smashed into the dome. I grunted as I pulled my arms downwards in an arch, the purple magic coating the dome as an extra precaution
As I let my hands drop I grunted
"Hailey!" Fred supported me in an instant
"I'm okay" I nodded
We stood looking out at the school we had called home for so many years.
"You okay, Freddie?" George asked
"Yeah." Fred replied
"Me too." George nodded
I smiled softly at them, they could never be apart.
"Hailey, are you okay?" George asked, worry in his voice
"I'm fine Georgie. I mean, I'm using power I've never really used to this extent. But I'm okay" I nodded
Fred pulled me into his side, and I allowed myself to relax for the few minutes of calm we had. I breathed in his scent of gunpowder and cinnamon, happy to be with him
This man had a hold on me I couldn't even explain. He makes me laugh when I'm sad. He helps me relax when I'm stressed. He helps me see the good in a bad situation. He's always here for me. And vice versa.
While the twins are a reflection of each other, Fred and I are bound by a different type of magic. Soulmates found through friendship
"I love you guys. Thank you for being my friends all that time ago on the train" I said quietly as the Death Eaters attacks began on the dome
"Thanks for accepting us back" George tried to joke but it was lost on us
"We wouldn't have had it any other way love" Fred squeezed my hand softly
"I love you" I whispered
"I love you more" he replied
I watched afraid as the dome began to crack
"No no no no no" I panicked as it began to fall
Fred looked at me funny, but I threw my arms up in an arch before pushing them together in a clap, making a loud boom noise just as the other dome fell.
I grunted holding my hands together, a sphere of power starting to crackle between my hands
"G-get everyone out" I gasped in pain
More attacks came at my purple dome now, I was trying to hold on until as many kids were out as possible
I felt one long attack come, I screamed and fell to one knee. "Freddie, I can't hold it" I cried
"It's okay. We all know you can't do this forever. You're saving us enough Hal. This battle is inevitable" he said reassuringly
And my power cracked before my dome fell too
"Let's do this" George said as Death Eaters flew at the school or the bridge
I stood up, I looked at my husband, and took a deep breath.
I rolled my shoulders, and clicked my fingers on one hand.
A purple glow came from my chest and I was in my purple armour suit, and the twins both had their version on their body's.
"Let's win this" I said my voice determined and strong
We all charged and began to throw hexes left right and centre.
I shot at death eaters attacking my friends, and other students.
I had to dodge the falling rubble at times as well.
I grunted being hit in the back with a crucio
"That won't work on me" I turned slowly, a murderous look in my eyes
I threw a strong stupefy forward knocking the man into the wall. He fell out cold.
I saw a trio of death eaters backing five second years into a corner
I sucked in a sharp breath as I teleported in front of the kids
"Hell to the nah" I grinned
They instantly began to throw spells at me, but I easily deflected them all, I threw my hands forward, purple energy going into the death eaters and made them fall, their minds trapped in a sleeping spell
"Get to the tunnel. GO!" I ordered the kids, I touched their shoulders, a purple shield covering them
"Thanks Hailey!" They shouted running away, no spells hitting them
I sighed, energy drained already
I saw Neville fighting beside Seamus and Dean
I saw Cho and Luna
Molly and Minnie
I ran back into the battle, energy crackling off of me, spiders and giants were fighting in the courtyard
I was throwing my purple power at as many enemies as I could. And I was throwing shields at anyone on my side.
I felt a presence behind me, I turned and saw Draco fighting with a spider that decided he was a snack. I threw a spell at the spider, now dead
"Thank you" he said
I nodded and he ran off to god knows where
I stumbled with a pain in my side, I'd been grazed with fire. I growled and threw multiple spells forward at the death eaters.
Everyone I fought fell down either dead from the impact of hitting something, or unconscious from a spell.
I took a deep breath a bad feeling in my gut.
"Fred" I gasped
I sprinted to where I'd last seen my husband. I ran while throwing spells and jumping over rubble.
I was panting heavily, but I kept running. The feeling only growing worse
I found him with Percy, and I relaxed getting caught in my own duel just at the bottom of the corridor
"I never thought I'd hear you tell a joke" Fred laughed
"Never say never" Percy laughed too
An explosion went off, and the ceiling above the two began to crack
My eyes went wide in terror, Fred looked at me in fear too. Percy jumped back from falling stone
"NOOOOOO!" I screamed running forward
"I love you" Fred said as the stone fell toward him
I threw my hand forward, but I fell too, straight on my face. I felt my nose break, but I was back up in a second.
Tears streaming down my face as I ran forward to the rock pile
Percy was standing there frozen, he didn't know what to do
"FRED! NOOO! FRED!" I cried and screamed clawing at the stones trying to move them.
"PERCY HELP ME!" I demanded
The older Weasley ran to my side and helped me move the stone. My tears fogging my eyes with each brick we moved
I stopped when I saw purple. Percy moved the last stone, and there curled up into himself, was Fred. A sparkling purple dome around him fizzing with power
I shrieked in joy as he looked up in shock to be alive
I reached down, our hands meeting I pulled him up with Percy.
We fell to the ground, my arms around his waist crying into his chest as he held me just as tight, gasping and shaking
"I got you. It's okay, you're okay" I had to reassure him, and myself
"Oh my god. You're okay" I pulled back grabbing his face
He slammed his lips on mine and I melted into the touch. Both of us pushing into the other, desperate to be closer
"You saved me" he whispered out foreheads touching
"I did" I choked a sob
And we pulled each other back into a hug
"Hailey, you're bleeding" he pulled his hand from my side
"Oh, I got caught by fire" I mumbled holding a hand to my side
"Your nose too" Percy kneeled beside us
"Do you want me to?" He asked lifting his wand
I looked to Fred who gave a small nod
I nodded at Percy "Opisky" he said fixing my nose
I grunted and touched my now fixed nose
I cringed hearing his voice again
"You've fought valiantly, but in vain... I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose your dead with dignity, Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you. On this night, you have allowed your friends to die for you, rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forrest, and confront your fate. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me." Voldemorts voice called out again
We made our way to the Great Hall, we'd found the other Weasleys surrounding a body
"George?" Fred whispered running to his twins side
"No Georgie" I gasped and ran too
We skidded to a halt, everyone was crying. Ron was screaming into his dads shoulder
"Hailey?" Ginny looked at me
I looked at her with teary eyes and back to George
Was this for saving Fred? Did the universe take another life instead?
"No. No it can't be, he can't....." I shook my head in disbelief
Fred was crying into my side, shaking for his brother
"No" I mumbled the tears spilling over my eyes
I leaned in to hug my best friend, my cheek pressed to his chest. Tears falling while Fred hugged Molly
I froze hearing a beat.
Instantly I was as straight as a board, and the whole family stared at me
I slowly lowered my ear again to his chest, I waited holding my breath, and after a minute I heard a heartbeat
"HES ALIVE!" I announced loudly.
Everyone began to laugh in joy
"Hailey?" Fred asked me
I looked at his blood shot eyes, the begging look he gave me.
"I'll try" I nodded
I rubbed my hands together creating energy, and I pressed both hands to George's chest. Nothing happened.
I tried again, and the ginger jolted awake, gasping for air. Everyone threw themselves at George, saying how happy they were
"Hailey" Hermione pulled me aside
"What's wrong?" I asked her worried
"Uh, you might want to see this" she said leading me away from my family
"I'm so sorry" she said as we stopped
I could only stare at the body in front of me
"No. Gods no. No no no no no" I panicked going to their side
"Moony!" I cried grabbing his shoulders
"No Moony wake up!" I shook him
"Please wake up! You can't leave me too" I sobbed
"REMUS WAKE UP" I shook him
"WAKE UP DAMMIT!" I shouted shaking him
"Please, you can't leave me" I cried
"You can't leave me alone too. Please come back" my voice cracked
"Hailey" I heard Tonks
I looked up at her. My eyes red, and twitched with purple energy. Snot coming from my nose. Tears streaming down my face
"He's gone sweetheart" she said softly stirring beside me
She opened her arms and I leapt into her hold. She held me tightly as I cried staring at the lifeless corpse of the man who raised me. The father figure I had until I was reunited with my real dad.
Tonks rocked us back and forth, she shed her own silent tears for her husband. And my tears eventually ran out, but I didn't let go of his hand
"You need to let go Hailey" Tonks whispered
"I can't" my voice hoarse
"You need to let him go darling" she insisted
"No" I shook my heads more tears coming up
"Hailey" Fred knelt beside us with George not far behind
"He can't be gone" I looked up at my Freddie
"It'll be okay. You need to let him go. He's gone" he knelt down and offered me his hands
I shook my head sadly
"It's okay. I'm here" he said
I chocked a sob as I slowly took both his hands in mine
"Come here love" he whispered pulling me into him
"Where's Harry?" I asked looking around once I'd calmed down
"He's gone to the Forest" Ron and Hermione said
"WHAT!" I shouted standing quickly
"Whoa whoa whoa" Fred stood too and held my shaking arms
"Let me go Fred. That idiot is going to get himself killed" I said my voice low
"You can't go out there alone. Let alone in this state" he motioned to me.
I was shaking, barely able to hold myself up. My face tear streaked, my eyes red and puffy, my hands cut with my power sparkling. My suit was covered in dust, blood and dirt. My side having a bandage over it.
"He's all I have left of a family" I whispered scared
"No he's not. You have all of us. We'll get him back" Fred said softly
That's all it took for me to collapse into his side
"Where's Draco?" I asked Hermione and Ron
"He's um, there" Hermione pointed at the boy
"Get him for me. Nicely" I ordered
The girl and boy shared a look before they approached the blonde pointing back at me. Draco nodded and followed them to me and the twins
They stopped and looked at me
I offered Draco my hand and he took it, I showed everyone the flame that sat there. Meaning he was on our side
"Are you okay?" I asked worried
He just nodded
"Are you sure? Are you hurt?" I asked and he shook his head
"Draco" I said softly
He bowed his head, and I realised what was wrong.
I pulled his chin up, making him look at me. His eyes teary, and I saw the truth hidden in them
I sighed and held a hand to his throat
He gasped suddenly taking deep breaths
"What the bloody hell was that?" Ron asked
"A healing spell" I replied
"Thank you" Draco looked at me
I nodded
"What was wrong?" Hermione asked
"He's been crucio'd into not speaking" I whispered softly
"Oh" she mumbled
I followed the crowd outside
"Who is that? Hagrid's carrying? Neville, who is it?" Ginny asked
I gasped seeing my cousin in Hagrid's arms
"Harry Potter... ... is dead!" Voldemort shouted
"No! No!" Ginny ran forward but Arthur caught her
"Silence! Stupid girl!" Voldemort spat
"Harry Potter... is dead! From this day forth...you'll put your faith in me. Harry Potter is dead! And now it's the time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us...or die!" He said coldly
"Draco! Draco." Lucious called for the boy
"Draco. Come." Narcissa tried too
Draco looked up at me. I stood in front of him protectively
"And you must be Hailey Black. Heir of Merlin" Voldemort laughed at me
"Laugh all you'd like. I could kill you easier than blinking" I growled
He took a step back, genuinely scared. He'd heard of my capabilities, and he'd seen how dangerous I could be during the battle, my power gave me an 'unfair advantage'
Neville limped forward and I gasped
"Well, I must say I'd hope for better. And who might you be, young man?" Voldy asked
"Neville Longbottom." Neville replied
"Well, Neville, I'm sure we can find a place for you in our rank." He said
"I'd like to say something." Neville corrected
"Well, Neville, I'm sure we'd all be fascinated to hear what you have to say." Voldy said annoyance on his voice
"Doesn't matter that Harry is gone." Neville said
"Stand down, Neville!" Seamus called to his friend
"People die everyday! Friends, family. Yeah... We lost Harry tonight. He's still with us. In here. So are Pavarti, and Remus. All of them. They didn't die in vain. But you will. Because you're wrong! Harry's heart did beat for us. For all of us! It's not over!" Neville called pulling the Sword of Gryffindor from the sorting hat
I laughed overjoyed as Harry fell from Hagrids arms
"Potter!" Draco threw his wand forward as tribute
"Confringo!" Harry called. Shooting the snake
"Come on! All remain into the castle. We have to kill the snake." I shouted throwing up a weak shield
I was limping around with Fred, he was sending the attacking spells, while I held the shield up around us, and I was sending shields to others as well. Saving everyone.
A purple dome had grown around the dead, protecting them from further harm
We all watched Voldemort die by flaking away and becoming nothing but air
Everyone cheered in relief
I fell into Fred's arms for support and he held me upright
