Heeseung hummed a melody, looking at the bright blue sky. The birds were singing their song, dueting with his melody. He walked to the pavilion and saw his wife reading a book. He sighed and was about to turn around but decided that he needed to talk to her to clear a few things up.
Yeonbyul lifted her face from the book and frowned when she saw her husband walking towards her. He sat in front of her and saw her right foot that was wrapped with a bandage. He was about to take a closer look but she hid it, looking away.
"Were you hurt?" He asked worriedly. She scoffed, "Is it that obvious?"
"I'm trying to help you here. We need to clear the misunderstandings between us."
She glared at him and slammed her book close, "Misunderstandings? Heeseung, you chose that woman over me. I'm telling you the truth, I didn't shake the boat! If I did, I would've escaped from it earlier before it turned over."
"I know, " he mumbled. Her eyes widened and she grabbed him by his collar, "And you just let her embarrassed me in front of everyone?! You humiliated me, you jerk!"
He let her hit his chest continuously, letting her vent her anger out at him. She took a deep breath and fixed her posture, "You slapped me, accused me of something I didn't do, and you dare to show up in front of me."
Yeonbyul stood up before dusting off her shirt. She wiped the tear that escaped and cleared her throat, "I really hope you would leave me alone."
He stood up and grabbed her hand, stopping her from leaving him. He hugged her tightly from the back, "I'm sorry, Yeonbyul."
Her heart dropped from the sudden contact.
Sure, he hugged me for the first time.
But it doesn't feel warm like how Sunghoon hugged me.
It felt cold and I need to get away with it.
She pushed him away and pointed her finger at him, "Don't ever touch me again. I don't want your filthy hands touching me. Just use those hands to have sex with your mistress."
With that, she left the pavilion, feeling anger rising in her. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, cursing at the King internally.

Haesun walked back and forth in the kitchen, waiting for her dad to arrive. The back door opened and Mr Kim walked in, holding a small packet of unrecognisable powder. She rushed towards her father, "Did you get it?"
"This is one of the rarest poison that has ever been made. The King's parents will come later during lunch to eat with His Majesty and his Queen Consort. Tell the chefs to put this into her drink. She would lose consciousness for a few hours before dying. Then he would have no choice but to marry you and you will be his Queen."
Haesun couldn't hide her smile and took the poison, "Thank you, dad. You know I could always count on you."
She stared at the poison powder and hummed a happy melody, searching for a chef that she could hire to poison Yeonbyul.
Hanseo watched as the mistress and her father talked about something. She couldn't hear them clearly but she was confused when Mr Kim handed a packet of white powder to the mistress. She tried to think of theories of what the two could plan.
Probably beauty vitamins?
Protein powder?
Diet medicine?
Her eyes widened when a thought crossed her mind, Poison?...
A chef came and he talked for a while with Haesun before taking the powder and putting it into a drink. She hid at the corner, watching as Haesun walked out of the kitchen. She rushed towards the chef, "What's that?"
"Lady Haesun said it was a diet medicine that Her Majesty ordered days ago. She said Her Majesty wishes to drink it with the juice later."
Hanseo watched as he handed the tray of drinks to the butler. She scurried to the dining hall where the royal couple were there with His Majesty's parents. She stood near the door, watching as the butlers served the food and drinks.
"So, Yeonbyul, I hope your relationship with Heeseung is alright since he appointed a concubine, " Mrs Lee said.
Yeonbyul faked a smile, it was so obvious. She poked her food, feeling no appetite coming. Heeseung held her hand and passed her the black pepper, "Honey, it's more delicious if you sprinkle black pepper."
Honey?, Yeonbyul thought. She bit her bottom lip and nodded before obeying what her husband said.
Hanseo looked closely and saw that the powder started to go upwards in the drink. She remembered what Ms Han told her when they were ordered to identify the types of poison.
1. It will not stay put but will perform a cloudy texture in the drink or go upwards.
2. If it was put in the food, the food will change into a weird colour.
Her eyes widened and she took off her shoe before throwing it at Her Majesty's cup. Yeonbyul widened her eyes, "Hanseo! What's wrong?"
Mr Lee stood up, "How dare you interrupt the Queen eating?! You even dared to throw your filthy shoe at her!"
"Father, " Yeonbyul tried to calm her father-in-law down. The palace guards grabbed Hanseo by the wrists and dragged her out of the dining hall.
"Your Majesty! Mr Kim poisoned your drink! You have to believe me!"
Yeonbyul was about to follow her but Heeseung grabbed her by her arm, "Don't. I'll take care of it."
After he said that, he left the dining hall with his parents. She was left alone in the dining room. She picked up the cup and noticed the strange powder-like substance in her drink.
Mr Kim is trying to bring me down.
He may have started to harm me.
I have to save Hanseo!
She ran to the throne room and saw Hanseo kneeling in front of Heeseung with a chain locked around her neck. She took off her heels and ran, "Hanseo!"
She kneeled next to her and lifted her head, taking a closer look to check if her court lady was hurt.
"Your Majesty. You must stop it this instant!" Yeonbyul stood up, rushing towards the King but two guards stopped her, holding her by the shoulders.
"Why are you defending her? She committed treason towards you."
"She was trying to save me! I would die if I drink the juice earlier!"
"Do you have proof that it was poisoned?"
Yeonbyul pushed the guards away and told Ms Han to call for Mr Kim. The senior court lady nodded and ran out of the throne room to search for the minister. She faced the tall guard, "Get the head chef here and the drink."
He obeyed and scurried out of the room. The door opened and Haesun walked in, "What happened, Your Majesty?"
