harry stood in front of the mirror, looking himself up and down. his fists and jaw clenched. tiny beads of sweat formed under the loose bits of fringe that he'd pushed back not even a moment ago. you could tell he was nervous; he hadn't been in front of a crowd for over a year. after taking a break to star in a movie, one thing lead to another and his musical career was put on hold.
you walked up behind him and looked at him in the mirror. he looked down to you in the reflection before turning around to face you. you simply smiled and opened your arms for a hug. harry melted into them, you could feel him being put back together.
"you good?" you asked.
"i don't think i've ever been so nervous. i feel like i'm going to disappoint the fans."
you looked at him, he was a star. your star. him doubting himself hurt you, you wished he could see himself the way you saw him. you flattened the collar of his blazer and brushed off his shoulders. holding onto the lapels, you looked straight into his eyes. a mischievous grin creeped onto your face.
"do you know who you are? i think you're forgetting that you're harry mother-fucking styles."
he laughed, shaking his head and looking to the floor. you took his cheeks in your hands and got him to look back up.
"have trust in how much i and your fans love you. you've got this."
harry kissed you. he didn't need to say anything, you could feel everything he was thinking; gratitude, love, joy. you pulled away from the kiss with a smile.
"come on, you're on in a minute."
