~Lavender Evans POV~
We had probably five minutes til the end of practice and luckily it went smoothly, despite the fact that I was slightly distracted.
"Hey, Evans" I heard
I skated over to the other side of the rink where Andrew was standing.
Oh, yeah, Andrew, he's the person on shift right now, we've been good friends for a while.
"Whats up?" I asked
"Is there any chance you can stay til close tonight? I just got a call, I have a family thing going on, I have to run" He said
"Yeah, sure" I said
"Awesome, thank you, I owe you one" He said
"Don't mention it" I said
Did I just jump at the chance to stay here an extra hour and a half so that I don't have to have a awkward conversation with Sirius? Yep.
It's mostly the fact that if I make eye contact with Rem once, he'll know exactly what happened and I can't lie to him for the life of me.
I pushed that thought to the back of my head though so I could just wrap up practice quickly.
But I quickly realized once practice finished that I had to explain this to Lily, she'd immediately think Sirius did something, even though technically he did, I also asked him to.
With that I grudgingly made my way to the phone and dialed.
"Hello?" She said
"Hey, it's me" I said
"Oh, hey Lav, what's up?" She asked
"So it was just Andrew and I here, he had a family thing and had to run, so I have to stay til close, there's no one on schedule for the rest of the night so I'm just gonna be sitting here alone until close so if you need anything just call" I said
"Okay, don't worry about it Lav, just let me know when you're on your way home, if it's dark I'll grab the guys and we can meet you half way" She said
"I will, see you in like, two hours, good luck Lils" I joked
"Thanks" She said before she hung up.
I went around the rink and set up the things for the practice in the morning before I went and just sat in the office.
After about ten minutes, the phone rang.
"Duntonbury ice plex, this is Lavender how can I help you?" I said.
"Lav, it's me" Lily said
"Oh, hey, you okay?" I asked
"Yeah, just fine, okay, this is gonna sound crazy at first, but you just have to go with it" She said
"Whats up?" I asked
"Okay, I may or may not have brought the guys to the rink for something to do, and got them all skates, we just need you to let us in we're locked out of the actual skating area" She said
"Are you serious Lils?" I asked
"Yeah, we were bored, everyone except Remus has skated before and you were bored so we brought the party to you" She said
"Okay, I'll be out in 30 seconds, I just have to fix my skates" I said.
"Okay" She said before she hung up. Only Lily.
I quickly tightened both my skates before I walked over to the door.
"Okay, am I the only one who thinks this is a disastrous idea?" I said as I opened the door.
"No" Remus said
"I personally think it's a great idea" James said
"You'll never hear me say this again, I agree with Potter" Lily said
"I don't think any of us have enough coordination for this" Remus said
"Hey, don't be so quick to judge Rem, I'll let you know I played three seasons of hockey, and I wasn't half bad, quidditch is just more my speed" James said
"Hold on, you're telling me pretty boy Potter played hockey?" I said
"You're telling shy girl Evans isn't afraid to absolutely body someone?" He said
"Y'know what, fair" I said
"Honestly, if you look at it, almost all of us are pretty well prepared, Lily said she's skated with you before, Petey and I both played a few years of hockey, Sirius took skating lessons-" James started, getting cut off.
"Aye aye, got forced into skating lessons, but nonetheless learned" Sirius said
"Took, got forced to take, Sirius learned, moral of the story, the only person who hasn't been on the ice before is Remus" James said.
"I can work with that, I just still can't believe you played hockey, you just don't seem like the hockey persona" I said
"I'll show you up real quick bean, all it'll take is a few shots for me to prove you wrong if you're up for it." He said, I looked over at Lily who nodded, she gets amused by these things.
"You're on Potter" I said
"I just need two minutes to get used to the feeling of the ice again" He said
"I have to grab sticks and a puck anyways, go for it" I said before I walked into the side room.
I walked back out and Potter was on the ice, everyone else was standing right by the door.
"You sure you wanna do this Lavender? James was the best in our team" Peter said
"Oh don't get ahead of yourself Peter, you've never seen her on the ice" Lily said
"Now please go hand Potter his ass, I wanna see this" Lily said
"If you insist" I said before I skated out on the ice.
"So how long has it been since you played on team?" I asked as I got up to James
"Um, almost six years now, I played up to my first year at Hogwarts" He said
"Okay, then we're even" I said as I tossed the puck out a few inches in front of him.
"I'm about to put you to shame bean, sorry not sorry" He said
"Okay, if you insist, what are we going to?" I asked
"Just a quick three points?" He asked as he started playing with the puck, I'm assuming to get used to stick control again.
"That works" I said
"I'll take you goal behind me, you take the one behind you" He said
"Okay" I said
"I'll even let you start on offense" He said
"Oh really? You going easy on me Potter?" I asked
"Nope, just giving you the advantage, you'll need it" He said
"Aww, that's sweet" I said as I quickly flicked the puck out from under his stick and skated a few feet backwards. Yeah you could see the instant regret on his face, we're rolling with it.
"You ready Potter?" I said
"I'm not sure anymore" He said
"No shame in pussying out Potter" I said
"A lot of shame in pussying out actually, I'll take the possible shot of losing" He said
"I can respect that" I said
"Okay, hit me with your best shot bean" He said.
With that, I skated towards him, faking out last minute to get the puck around him and into the goal post.
"Okay, you were right, no shame in pussying out, cause there's no way in hell I'm wining this, respect though" He said
"Well, Lily's not great at skating, I should go help her... wait actually, Rem doesn't know how to skate, can you do me a favor and help Lily?" I said.
Potter and I have been friends for long enough, he knows what I'm getting at.
"I love you" He said before he skated off, I just laughed it off before I followed him off the ice and walked to Lupin who was in the back of the group.
"Okay Lupin, you're mine" I said
"I'm fine with that, you seem safer then James" He said
"I stuck him with Lily" I said
"You're evil, I'm having a good effect of you" He said
"I know" I said as I took his hand and slowly led him onto the ice. Everyone else was already out and skating around.
I grabbed both his hands and started slowly skating backwards.
"Am I gonna die?" He asked
"Probably not" I said
"Okay, I'll take those odds" He said
"So what happened with Sirius?" He asked after a minute.
"I mean, I'm pretty sure he was dropped on his head as a child if that's what your asking" I said
"No, well, yes he absolutely was, that's why he's the way he is today, but I meant in the kitchen" He said
"Oh, trust me, you don't wanna know" I said
"Good or bad?" He asked
"It's Sirius, if he did something bad, he's be apologizing profusely right now" I said
"You have a good point" He said
After a few minute he started to get more comfortable with skating and I let go of his hands, and started skating normally next to him.
We were talking about a book he's reading when we caught up to James, Lily, Peter, and Sirius.
"You stuck me with Potter, seriously?" She said, I just returned a cheesy smile.
"Ugh, you're lucky I love you" She said
"I know" I said with a laugh
"Damn Rem, you're actually picking this up fast" James said
"I know, he's doing pretty damn good for his first time" I said
"I haven't busted my ass yet, so I'll take it" He said as the phone rang.
"I'll be right back, no one die in the meantime please, that's a lot of paperwork" I said
"I'll help you with the paperwork don't worry" Sirius said
"What if you're the one who dies?" I said
"Touché" He said after a second, I just laughed it off and skated off the ice, and took the few steps to the office.
"Dutonbury ice plex, this is Lavender how can I help you today?" I asked
"Oh thank god it's you, I called your house and no answer, it's Val" She said
Oh, yeah, Val.
Val and I have been good friends since I was little. She's lived down the street from us for our whole lives, she's close with Lily and Tuney, Ive just always been closest with her for some reason.
"Hey, what's up" I said
"What time do you get off?" She asked
"Not for over an hour, what's up V?" I asked
"I had a date tonight, and the bloke stood me up" She said
"Oh, Val, I'm sorry." I said
"It's not a big deal, I just need to see my girls" She said
"You know what, do you have clothes in your locker?" I asked
"Always, why?" She asked
"I have the perfect way to fix your night, come over here, I'll let you in, theres some people I'll have you meet" I said
"Okay, I'll be there in ten, I'm right down the road" She said
"Okay, see you soon" I said before I hung up.
Yeah, Val has worked here for as long as I have, she just works year round since she lives here year round. She just figure skates instead of hockey.
I made my way out of the office and caught up with the group on the ice.
"Wrong number or Tuney?" Lily asked
"Neither actually" I said
"Wow, who was it then?" She asked
"Val" I said
"Oh wait, she had that date tonight, right? How'd it go?" She asked
"He stood her up" I said
"Aww, poor Val" She said
"Yeah, but I had the idea to tell her to come here" I said
"True, if anyone can boost her spirits it's you and the Marauders" She said
"Okay, also, hear me out" I said
"Okay" She said
"Okay, tell me if I'm wrong, but Val and Remus" I said
"Val and Remus? I don't know they such opposites- oh my god they'd totally hit it off" She said
"Exactly what I'm thinking, wait shit Remus" I said as I turned back to the group.
"Realized you forgot me?" Rem said as I got up to the group.
"Yep" I said.
"You know, I think Remus here may be ready to pick up some speed" James said
"Oh really?" I said as I stuck out my hands
"Should I trust this?" Rem said as he took my hands.
"Not in the slightest" I said before I started skating backwards, pulling him away from the group.
"Why can you skate faster backwards then I can forwards?" He said
"Just years of practice I guess" I said
We made a few laps around the rink before I let go of his hands.
"Lav what are you doing?" He said
"C'mon, you can do it, just keep your eyes forward on me and you'll be fine" I said.
"You're gonna be the death of me" He said
"Probably in a way yeah" I joked
At this point James and Lily were skating around, I'm guessing having a race based on how fast they were going, and Sirius and Peter were taking a break on the ice.
We made a few more laps around and luckily Rem hasn't eaten shit yet.
"Okay, yeah you were right, this is starting to feel normal" He said
"I know, I'm just good like that" I joked, he returned a laugh.
"Lav slow down for a sec" He said with a laugh
"You just said you were feeling normal" I said.
But I quickly realized he was telling me to slow down for a reason, because I hit something and felt myself stumble backwards.
I prepared myself for the brutal hit I was about to take since I have no padding, but the impact never came.
I quickly realized the impact wasn't coming and opened my eyes to Sirius looking back at me.
"Falling for me Evans?" He said.
"In your dreams Sirius" I said
"Yeah, actually kinda" He said as he helped me up.
Only Sirius.
"Wait, hold on, how long has it been since I got that call?" I said
"Like, ten minutes" Rem said
"Shit, okay, I'll be right back" I said as I skated off the ice and towards the lobby.
~Sirius Blacks POV~
Yeah today's been interesting to say the least I guess.
To see this other side of the Evans'.
And that's exactly what Peter and I have been talking about.
We think we've got it down pretty good.
Lily and Lavender are very rarely apart when they're home.
Lily gets snapped into perspective when she's home by Petunia.
And apparently Lavender does whatever she can to please her parents. I understand that.
But based on how both Lily and Petunia pull to Lavender, she's the glue. But James and I have talked about that before when we were at school, we knew that already.
"She's gonna hit us, isn't she?" Peter said.
"Huh?" I said as I turned to see Lavender and Remus coming at us.
"Oh, yeah, probably" I said
"Should we tell her?" He said
"No, I have a better idea" I said as I turned.
"Lav slow down for a sec" Rem said.
"You just said you were feeling normal" Lavender said.
And as I assumed one of her skates ran right into mine.
I caught her before she hit the ground.
"Falling for me Evans?" I said
"In your dreams Sirius" She said.
Lily was right, she really is most herself right now.
Plus for some reason Lavenders just bold today, but I like it.
"Yeah, actually I kinda do" I said, she just rolled her eyes and let out a quiet laugh as I helped her up.
"Wait, hold on, how long has it been since I got that call?" Lavender asked
"Like, ten minutes" Rem said
"Shit, okay, I'll be right back" Lavender said before she skated away.
"Okay, that was weird right?" Peter said
"Yeah, shes up to something" Remus said.
"She's not up to something, she's meeting someone, who I have a strong feeling all you will like, just nobody be an asshole to her, the poor girl just got stood up" Lily said.
"I think I missed a step" I said
"Yeah, who's this someone?" James said
"Just one of our close friends, and she's muggle, she doesn't know the wizarding world exists, so don't do anything stupid" Lily said
"Okay, no wizard talk, got it" Remus said

~Lavender Evans POV~
Within 30 second of me getting to the lobby, Val was at the door.
"God it's cold out there" She said
"It's not much better in here to be fair" I said
"Yeah, but this is a choice, out there isn't" She said.
"Good point" I said as we walked into the locker room.
She quickly got dressed and slipped on her skates.
"So, who's here that I have to meet?" She asked
"Okay, so this might seem like a lot at first, so some of our friends from school showed up to our house, and now we're all here, and they might seem like a lot at first, but I promise you'll adjust to them" I said
"Who's this them?" She said
"Well, there's James, and you'll talk to him, but you can be confident that he won't make a move on you because he's in love with Lily" I said
"Is he a good guy?" She asked
"Yeah, he's the sweetest guy, I couldn't tell you why she keeps rejecting him though" I said
"I bet I could get her to come to her senses" She said
"Honestly you probably could" I said
"Okay, who's next?" She said
"Then there's Peter, and I mean he's pretty shy, but he's funny once you get to know him" I said
"Then there's Sirius who has the hots for Lav" Lily said as she walked out.
"Ooo wait who's this Sirius?" Val asked
"He does not" I said
"He does, you're just oblivious" Lily said
"Anyways who's the last person, you said there's four" Val said
"Then there's Remus" I said
"Ah then there's Remus" Lily said
"Whys this Remus so special?" Val asked
"You'll see, let's go" I said as I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the rink.
"And who's this?" James said as we got on the ice.
"This, is Valenciana Tesicini, aka Val" Lily said.
"Val, this is James, Sirius, Peter, and Remus" I said
"None of them make bright life decisions so you'll fit right in" Lily said
"Perfect" Val said
"Now Val, care to join Lav and I while I fill you in on the dumb shit Thompson did today?" Lily said
"Wow, no other conversations first you're just going right into this" I said
"Yep, cause it's horrifying" Lily said
"Oh hell yeah then let's hear this" Val said before she grabbed my hand and started to pull me across the ice.
"Okay, guess we're doing this" I said as I looked back at Rem, who was raising his eyebrows at me in amusement.
"Okay, give it to me" Val said once we got away from the guys.
"Oh where do you want me to start, the part when he admitted he's had feelings for Lav for years or the part where he kissed her" Lily said
"He did what?" Val yelled
"Shhh shhh, I'm still avoiding that conversation with Peter and Remus" I said
"Do they even know Thompson?" Val asked.
"No, but still" I said
"Yeah Remus would never let you live it down" Lily said
"Trust me, I know" I said
"Speaking of Remus, we both think you two could hit it off" Lily said
"Is that why you brought me here?" Val asked
"No, but it just happened to work out great" I said
"Okay, I'll try to get to know him, but no promises I'm gonna like him though, and I won't flirt with him right away" She said
"Obviously, we wouldn't put you into that position" I said
"Okay let's go see this I'm excited" Lily said as she pulled us to the group of guys who were now skating again.
"Can- can he skate?" Val asked me in a whisper.
"Ish" I said
"Okay, figured" She said
"So bean, no more shockers tonight, right?" Potter said
"God I hope so" I said
"So, Val, of all the people to hang out with on a Tuesday night, why'd you chose these two?" Rem asked
"Oh please these two are my mains, we've been through thick and thin together, no better way to spend a Tuesday night" Val said
"I'll take that as a compliment" Lily said
"Honestly Lav, I still can't believe Thompson was your first kiss" Val said
"Wait hold on, that's what happened?" Rem said
"Thanks for that" I said
"Love you" Val said
"You know what, I'll take a jump scare kiss from Eric Thompson over choosing to kiss Tommy McGuire" I said
"Yeah that was a low point in my life" She said
"Val, he was in the negative numbers, thats more then a low point" Lily said
"You know what, you have a point, he was rock bottom" Val said
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna close up now so we can stay right til seven" I said
"Okay, do you want help? We can do it quicker with the both of us" Val asked
"Nope, I'm good, thanks though, please don't let them scare you off in the meantime though" I joked before I skated off the ice.
It only takes a few minutes to close anyways, so it wasn't a huge deal to go through quickly and do everything I could before we left.
~Sirius Blacks POV~
I think basically all of us are trying to figure out Val still.
James and I immediately agreed that if she was friends with Lily and Lavender she's fine.
We're all just trying to read what she's like.
We've also spent the past minute or so joking with Remus about the fact that she's 100% his type.
Physically she matches him perfectly, we just know Remus too well.
"So bean, no more shockers tonight, right?" James said
"God I hope so" Lavender said
"So, Val, of all the people to hang out with on a Tuesday night, why'd you chose these two?" Remus asked (called it)
"Oh please these two are my mains, we've been through thick and thin together, no better way to spend a Tuesday night" Val said
"I'll take that as a compliment" Lily said
"Honestly Lav, I still can't believe Thompson was your first kiss" Val said
It could be the cold, but I could've sworn I saw Lavenders cheeks turn to a different shade of pink.
I'm not gonna say anything here though, no need to horrify the poor girl.
"Wait hold on, that's what happened?" Rem asked.
"Thanks for that" Lavender said
"Love you" Val said
"You know what, I'll take a jump scare kiss from Eric Thompson over choosing to kiss Tommy McGuire" Lavender said

I know I've said this already, but seeing Lavender her gives me a whole new perspective on her.
She's never gonna stop surprising me, will she?
~Lavender Evans POV~
We stayed at the rink for probably half an hour before we decided to go back to the house.
As soon as we got back, Lily and I went to the kitchen to grab everyone water bottles.
When we came back, everyone was spread out across the living room.
Peter was in the arm chair we have, Val and Rem were talking (as expected), and Sirius and James were sitting on the other end of the couch, Sirius with a gap between him and the arm of the couch, and James with a gap between him and Sirius.
Once we put all the bottles of water down, Lily and I quickly realized something was up.
"Yeah, Evans, you're stuck with us" James said
"Which one?" Lily asked
"Both of you" Sirius said, I could see the unamused look immediately hit Lily's face.
"I have an idea, follow my lead" I whispered to her.
"Sirius do you mind moving down a little bit so Lily and I can sit next to each other?" I asked
"Sure" He said before he moved over to be flush against the arm of the couch.
With that I took a step closer and sat on the opposite side of James, pushing him closer to Sirius, Lily following with sitting on the other side of me.
"You know what bean, that was smart, I really didn't see that coming" James said
"Actually, yeah I give you credit for that" Sirius said
"Thank you" Lily whispered to me.
"What are sisters for" I said
At this point, Val, Remus, and Peter were having a conversation, and James and Sirius split off into their own conversation.
"So why are you avoiding Sirius?" Lily asked
"What? I'm not avoiding Sirius" I said
"Lav I know you, you are, did he say something stupid earlier?" She asked
"Lils, I promise I'm not avoiding him, my social batteries just running low today, I'm avoiding everyone" I said
"Okay..." She said after a second
"Val doesn't believe we pulled off the amazing pranks we have, I told her a few ideas but I'm mind blanking" Rem said
"We shaved a kids head bald one night" Sirius said
"We specially trained a dog to eat only my homework on command, then one day had the dog come in and eat my homework in front of the teacher" James said
"There was also the time we put itching powder in someone's robes" Peter said
"They gave one of my friends a trick pen that only wrote in bright pink ink even though the cartridge was black" Lily said
"They also rigged a giant bowl of mashed potatoes to fall on a kids head to start a food fight through out the whole school one night at dinner" I said
"There's a lot more, we can keep going if you want" James said
"I think I get the gist of it" Val said with a laugh
"Yeah, like I said they have their moments" Lily said
Yeah, those were all coverup stories, in reality?
The 'shaving a kids head' was a temporary balding charm they put on Severus.
The 'specially trained dog' was Sirius, and yes they still do it whenever James forgets to do his homework.
The itching powder in 'someone's' robe, was a first year Slytherin who thought he was better then the guys.
The 'trick pen' was just a normal quill that Remus charmed so that no matter what ink Snape used, it came out bright pink on his parchment.
And the 'rigged bowl of mashed potatoes' was actually just charmed, and they charmed it right over Amos, partly to get back at him, and partly because they know how competitive he is and it would cause a massive food fight.
And like Potter said, there's many, many more.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna run to the bathroom" James said before he stood up.
And honestly, I should've expected this from James Potter and Sirius Black, why'd I actually believe he was going to the bathroom.
As he stood up, Sirius hooked an arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him and James sat between Lily and I.
"Now see, you two may think fast on your feet but the two of us, do shit like this constantly, you can't outsmart us" James said
"I can't believe I didn't see this coming" Lily said
"Yeah thats a little shocking, you usually can see when we're about to do something stupid, or in this case bloody brilliant" He said
"You guys are so stupid sometimes" I said under my breath.
"You're just realizing this Evans?" Sirius said as he wrapped an arm around me.
"No, I'm just stating it" I said
With that Lily started a little rant quietly about how Remus and Val are hitting it off.
"Ven, can you grab me a bottle of water" Sirius said, I moved forward and grabbed a bottle off the table.
"Wait, did you just called me Ven?" I said
"Don't give me that look, you responded to it" He said
"Do I wanna ask?" I said
"Okay, it's very logical-" He started, I gave him a confused look.
"Trust the process, okay, so, I was looking for a good nickname for you, because everyone calls you Lav, it had to be more original then that, a lot of people use Evans too, so I went to breaking apart your name, you following?" He asked
"As much as I can?" I said
"Okay, perfect, so like I said, everyone uses Lav, Der sounds like an insult, so I landed on Ven" He said
"I have no response to that" I said
"You know, some would take that as me being great at leaving you speechless" Sirius said
"That was a weak pick up line" James said
"Realized it as soon as it came out" Sirius said
"As long as you're self aware" James said
"You two know each other scary well" I said
"We say the same about you and Remus" Sirius said
"Touché" I said
"What do you guys wanna do?" Lily asked
She looked at everyone, no one responding, until her eyes landed on me.
"You look at her like she'll give you an answer" Rem said
"Good point" Lily said
A minute later Tuney walked downstairs.
"Why are all of you dead silent?" She asked
"We're trying to decide what to do" Lily said
"Just watch a movie" She said before she walked out the door.
"Where's she going?" Lily asked
"I think she said something about going to the Dursley's" I said
"Oh dear lord shes still going after him? He's awful, I was hoping it was just a quick crush" Val said
"Me too, the kids a bloody menace" Lily said
"As long as she's happy she can be with whoever she wants" I said
"Okay, but a movie was a good idea, you guys up for that?" Lily said, everyone nodded.
"So, what even are muggle movies like, like, what are they about?" Sirius asked in a whisper as she turned on the movie.
"Oh dear lord" I said
"Hey, I can't help that I have cousin fuckers as parents, it was a legitimate question" He said
"Oh?" I said
"You know what, I'm not gonna give you context for that" He said
"Should I be concerned?" I said
"Always" He said
"And to answer your question, just watch, it's easier then explaining" I said
"Fair" He said before he turned his attention to the movie playing.
~James Potters POV~
Okay, okay someone's pulling strings.
Okay, sounds stupid, I know, but hear me out.
Well, this ones obvious. Rem.
Lily and Lav brought Val here knowing they'd click and they haven't stopped talking since they had the opportunity to start.
And this.
Oh this.
Sirius Black of all people, caught feelings for an Evans after making fun of me for the past couple years.
And is absolutely internally panicking right now sitting here with his arm around her.
It's pretty funny honestly.
But to be fair, I'm in the same boat, cause in what world does Lily Evans fall asleep on my shoulder.
So moral of the story I'm pretty sure the only one of us who could tell you what's going on in this movie is Peter.
It's also safe to say that none of us expected anything close to this coming here today, we all just expected a day with the Evans'.
~Sirius Blacks POV~
I'll be honest if you asked me to tell you what's going on in this movie right now I couldn't tell you.
Something with these kids in detention I don't even know.
Kinda looks like a muggle us if I'm honest.
I happened to look over at the perfect moment when James moved to see Lily asleep on him.
Of course I immediately grabbed the remote next to him and paused the movie.
Ven totally didn't need to show me how, I totally did it all by myself, strong dog moment.
"Okay, what world are we in?" I said
"Elaborate" Remus said
"Petals, has she ever done anything close to that" I said
"That's a good point" Peter said
"They call Lily Petals" Ven said, Val nodded.
"Trust me, I'm shocked myself" James said
"Maybe she's finally starting to realize you're superior to Sniveleus" I said
"Wait, hold on, I missed that step, she doesn't like you? No way in hell" Val said
"Yeah, I don't really believe it" Peter said
"Well who do we know that would know" Remus said, looking at Lavender.
"Dont look at me, she tells everything to Marlene, I tell everything to Val" Ven said
"True" Val said
"That's why I can never get any dirt of you, I thought Marlene was just the worlds best friend" Remus said
"Please Marlene McKinnon can't lie for the life of her, she can keep a secret like no other , but you ask her on question thats the truth and she's done for" Ven said
"She really is a horrific liar" I said
"Anyways, I'm gonna run to the bathroom real quick since we paused the movie" Val said before she stood up and walked out of the room.
"I'll be right back" Ven said as she she stood up and followed Val out.
"They're absolutely having a very detailed conversation right about now about Remus" James said
"Without a doubt" I said
"100%" Peter said
"Vals more worried about the two strange men hitting on her best friends" Remus said
"Well she can only bring up one" Peter said
"What do you mean?" James asked
"Well everyone knows that James is flirting with Lily, even if Val brought it up I don't think it would click for Lavender that Sirius is flirting with her, nonetheless has been for months" Peter said
"That's true, I love her but the poor girls oblivious when it comes to flirting" James said
"She really is, it took her months to realize Amos was flirting with her, I bet even longer with Sirius" Remus said
"God let's not talk about that twat" James said
"Agreed" I said
At that point, they walked back into the room and we dropped the topic.
Ven sat back down and I wrapped my arm around her again.
It's honestly funny to me that she doesn't even question it anymore, she's just getting used to me.
~Lavender Evans POV~
I got lucky enough to catch Vals signal for me to follow her into the kitchen as she stood up.
"I'll be right back" I said before I followed Val down the hall.
"Whats up?" I asked
"Lily was totally right" She said
"About?" I asked
"Oh my, you're truly oblivious, you're lucky you're cute" She said
"Please, enlighten me" I said with a laugh.
"He's always has an arm around you in some way but no, he totally doesn't have the hots for you" She said
"Sirius?" I said
"Yeah" She said
"Since the first day I talked to Sirius he always had a hand on me in some way, thats just how he is, it doesn't mean he's into me" I said
"Lav-" She started
"He doesn't" I said
"Lav-" She said
"Don't say it" I said
"Lavender, listen to me" She said
"He doesn't" I said
"Lav, the boy calls you Ven, he grabs you by the waist to move you, he goes out of his way to make you laugh, the boy 100% likes you" She said
"And you totally like him too, you're just too scared to admit it, but I look at that boy and the last thing I ever think he'd do is hurt you, but he'd absolutely let you break his heart" She said with a laugh, I just stayed quiet.
"Oh my god you actually do like him I knew it" She said
"I don't want to, and why'd you have to expose my feelings to me, why couldn't you do that to Lily so she'd finally admit her feelings for Potter" I said
"Oh trust me, I will in the morning" She said
"Thank god" I said
"Why don't you wanna like Sirius though? He's sweet, he's cute, and he's absolutely into you" She said
"I know you don't go to our school so you can't see how it goes down but he's Sirius Black, every girl in the school had or does have feelings for him" I said
"But Lav, I can tell you right now he looks past all of them to find you, now c'mon, we have a movie to watch" She said as she started to walk back down the hall.
"I don't like you right now" I said.
"I know" She said
I sat down on the couch and Sirius immediately wrapped his arm around me again.
I happened to look over at Rem who was looking at me with his eyebrows raised, then it hit me, his stupid werewolf hearing.
He heard every word of that conversation, including me admitting to liking (one of) his stupid best friend(s), and he was clearly very amused by the new information.
"Oh screw off Lupin" I said
I could tell James, Sirius, and Peter all know what happened.
"Did he guess it or something?" Val said
"In a way I guess, he just has very good, how do I word it, intuition I guess" I said
"Oh, makes sense" She said
Sirius picked up the remote once everyone settled.
"You think you can figure it out this time" I joked
"Oi shut it, Evans" He said as he started the movie again.
"What did Rem just overhear?" He asked
"Nothing" I said
"Please it's not nothing, the smirk that came over his face said it all, do you need damage control?" He asked
"No, he's just gonna make fun of me mercilessly for the first few days once we get back but I have Val so it's fine" I said
"Oh so this is something about a guy" He said
"Watch the movie Sirius" I said
"Oh c'mon Evans, you totally have a crush, who is it?" He asked
"There's no crush Sirius, I can promise you that" I said
"Oh c'mon, a pretty girl our age has to have someone shes interested in" He said, I just tried my best to ignore him and watch the movie.
That was til he gently grabbed my chin so I'd look at him.
"Eye contact isn't gonna work" I said
"I know, it's not that, you're blushing" He said

Yeah so then I pulled a Lily, in a way. I just rested my head on his shoulder so he couldn't see my face.
What do they say, work smarter not harder?
"I hate you" I said
"I'm sure you do" He said
With that I just tried to turn my attention back to the movie, I'll admit it, Val got my head spinning.
I quickly got distracted with the feeling that his eyes were still on me.
I looked up for a second to see he was in fact still looking at me with a slight smile on his face.
Only Sirius.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing" He said
I just chose to ignore whatever thought was present in his mind and try my best to focus on the movie. It's better then getting my hopes up.
~Sirius Blacks POV~
I've said it before and I'll say it again, in the past couple months I've seen so many different sides of Lavender Evans that last year me would've never dreamed existed, and every single one of them amaze me.
And specifically today (more then other days) she's amazed me.
I really did try to stop myself from looking down at her, so I tried to just get myself sucked into the movie.
Which worked, but only for about 20 minuets until the movie got boring.
But when I looked back down, it's safe to say I was surprised again.
She was asleep.
Not that I mind it, cause I don't at all, I just didn't expect it.
"Is this as boring to you guys as it is to me?" James asked.
"Yep" I said
"Without a doubt" Peter said
"Lily did say it gets dull in the middle but the end gets good again." James said
"Yeah, Rem, what about you, you bored yet?" I asked
No answer.
"They're asleep" James said
I looked over and surprisingly he was correct.
Val and Remus were asleep all tangled up in each other.
"How did this night end up like this" I said
"Magic" Peter said
"Petey, we are magic, it's literally our world" James said.
"Exactly" Peter said
"You know what, you have a point" I said
"It's getting to late for this, you guys just broke my brain." James said.
"Lavender told me there's some blankets in this closet in case we wanted to crash here since it's supposed to snow tonight, she said it'd probably be safer." Peter said as he stood up and walked to a closet in the hallway.
He came back a minute later with a few blankets and tossed one to each of us.
"Do you guys just wanna turn this off so we can all crash?" I asked, they both nodded.
"Okay, I can do this, I think" I muttered to myself, looking at the remote.
"Top right corner" Peter said
"Thank you" I said as I shut off the TV.
"So the question now is, are the Evans' hooked on the Marauders or are the Marauders hooked on the Evans'" Peter said
"Oh, we're hooked on them, without a doubt, I can't speak for Sirius but I'm whipped" James said
"Lily's fun to mess with and who am I kidding, Vens my best friend-" I started
"Ven?" James said.
"New nickname I'm trying for her, anyways, if being hooked on then is how we keep them then I'll gladly be hooked on the Evans'" I said
"I love how we're talking about them like they're a drug" James said
"I mean, who am I kidding, even I agree with you guys. Lily was one of the first people to talk to me and be nice to me outside of you three, and Lavender and I were the quiet kids, we've always just got each other. Even more of a reason to fight Diggory." Peter said.
"He's not as much as a twat as you guys think" James said
"What do you mean" I said
"I thought he was being a dick, pretending to forget her, but no, Lily talked to him, he got a concussion at the beginning of the summer and has had memory issues ever since." He said
"Holy shit" I said
"You guys don't know that though, I promised Lily I wouldn't tell anyone because Lav doesn't know she talked to him yet" He said
"Okay, random question, where did the nickname Bean even come from?" Petey said
"No clue, it's just came out when I was talking to her" James said.
"I swear Petey, you're the only person who calls her Lavender. Even Minnie calls her Lav when she's talking to her in class" I said
"I just don't have a good nickname for her yet, I'll find one eventually" Peter said.
"Okay you two, we need some sleep, it's late as fuck and we don't know when we have to leave" James said
"Okay mom" I said
"You know I'll be mother hen if I have to, anyways, night" He said
"'Night" Peter and I said.
I laid for a few minutes trying to follow asleep but my mind was just spiraling.
Seriously, nothing was stopping it.
No matter what I did I couldn't get the thoughts to stop coming, or at least to slow down.
"Either of you still up?" James said after a few minutes.
Thank god.
"Yeah" I said
"Petey?" He said, no answer.
"Guess he's out" I said
"He must be" He said
"Okay, I have to ask, what suddenly happened between you two, we got here, you two were fine, she went outside and got jumped by that weird kid, then you two talked in the kitchen and she's been nervous ever since. What happened?" He asked
"Nothing" I said, he just stayed quiet for a minute. I know he can see right through me.
This isn't my news to tell, if Ven wants to, she can tell whoever the hell she wants, but it's not my place.
"I kissed her" I said
Okay, but it's James, and that silence with him staring at me was painful.
"There it is." He said
"I didn't plan to though, it sorta just happened" I said
"I will say I'm not shocked, you like to live in the moment, and she has her moments where she does too" He said
"Apparently" I said
"I don't know how she ended up with you though, she's the nicest person I know" He joked.
"In all seriousness, it'll blow over by tomorrow, she just needs to understand what happened in her head then she'll be back to herself, she's too smart for her own good sometimes" He said
"Yeah, I worry about what goes on in her head sometimes" I said
"I used to, then I realized shes got this far, she's probably doing okay" He said
"Has Petals been flirting with you?" I asked
"Not in the slightest" He said
"Then- what?" I said
"Yeah, this is very new, I'll take it, but it's very new" He said
"Is this whole year just gonna be us being confused by the Evans'?" I asked
"Probably" He said
"Okay, I can work with that" I said
"As long as the progress keeps going forwards and not backwards, I'm fine" He said
"Good point" I said
"So you kissed her?" He said
"Y'know, I think you're right, we should get some sleep" I said
"You still processing it?" He asked
"Yep" I said
"Figured, 'night Pads" He said
"'Night" I said.
It's safe to say I didn't expect this walking into tonight, but I'm definitely not disappointed.
~Lavender Evans POV~
Yeah I didn't intend to fall asleep here, but to be fair what I intended for tonight was to go to work, come home, and watch dirty dancing alone. So I guess I didn't do that either.
I was surprised to wake up to Sirius slightly stirring, obviously having some sort of bad dream.
By the looks of the moon it couldn't be later then 3 AM.
A second later her jolted awake.
"Hey, you okay?" I said in a whisper, looking up at him.
"Yeah, I'm so sorry I-" He started
"Hey, you don't apologize right now, what happened?" I asked
"Oh, it's not a big deal, just a bad dream" He said.
I don't know what possessed me to do this, but before I knew it I was reaching over and grabbing his hand that wasn't still wrapped around me.
To avoid the awkward eye contact snd conversation I just got comfortable again hoping he'd drop asking questions.
"Okay you just stole my heart and I don't even care, it's yours, take it, legitimately all yours, you own it, you own me" He said, I returned a laugh.
"You're not getting this back til morning, just so I can make sure you sleep" I said, holding up his hand that's still interlocked in mine.
"Fine by me" He said, I just laughed it off.
"'Night Sirius" I said
"'Night pretty girl" He said as he pulled me a little closer into his chest.
So what have we learned tonight?
One-Sirius Black is a hardcore flirt.
Two-Lily totally likes James.
Three-My two best friends absolutely will end up catching feelings for each other. (Val and Rem if you can't tell)
Four- Don't even get me started on Eric Thompson.
Five-And not really news but Tuneys still pining after that horrific Vernon kid, if we're lucky, she'll drop it.
And probably a ton of other things I missed, but it's 3:24 AM and I really don't want to think about the things I did tonight that'll probably horrify me tomorrow.
