Hello! Yeap this is an update and I will make you either cry or want to flip so many tables that they become extinct. And trust me, the video is worth a listen and view, and may be important to the story! On that happy note I do not own Ouran or anything I make references to.
Haruhi POV
We were all frozen in place, as we saw the fight between Elijah and the Twins unfold. It was like watching a movie that you couldn't turn off. Nobody moved until Hikaru started yelling and Elijah ran away.
Tamaki-senpai looked at Hikaru with unease "Don't you think that was a little harsh?" He asked. Hikaru shook his head "No I wasn't." He looked at the door to the host club "That bastard got exactly what he deserved."
I remembered when Elijah told me about how his mother and father met. Hearing Hikaru call him a bastard brought me out of the trance and I walked over to him, slapping his face hard enough just to make him look at me surprised "What were you thinking!?" I shouted "You're telling me that you think this entire time, Elijah was playing you just to get something like a necklace? That's a ton of bull!"
He looked at me with distaste "Of course you would defend him Haruhi. Your a commoner. Just like he is. It only makes sense you would try to get a criminal like him out of trouble."
"He isn't a criminal!" I shouted "And what if he really was framed? I've heard how he talks about you, it's obvious he really was in love with you,, do you know how he must feel knowing that you won't believe him?"
Hani-senpai held his Usa-chan bunny a little tighter "Eli-chan was always so innocent and nice. Why would he steal something, especially from Hika-chan? It doesn't make any sense."
Kaoru frowned and shook his head "You wouldn't understand Hani-senpai." He said putting his arms around Hikaru's neck "You don't know the hell Hikaru and I went through when we were little. The one person we trusted was a thief, and that's why we were so warped. Now to see Hikaru being in so much pain again..." He trailed off and nuzzled his brothers neck "It hurts so badly!"
Hikaru shrugged his brother off and looked at all of us "I need to clear my head." He spat out. He put the necklace in his pocket and began walking away "Dont expect me to come to club activities anytime soon." Kaoru followed him silently.
Kyoya-Senpai wrote in his clipboard again and sighed "First Elijah is an accused thief and now we're down a pair of loving brothers. This is not good for our reputation."I stared at him, surprised he was unfazed by what just happened. Then again, it is Kyoya-Senpai we're talking about.
Tamaki-Senpai on the other hand was fuming "Why?!" He asked scratching his head "Why are my boys so mean to each other, my family is falling apart!!" He looked like he was going to have tears in his eyes "I didn't know who to believe at first, but those tears in Elijah's eyes said it all. Someone must've did that to him."
He looked at the rest of us host Club members "Gentlemen, we are closing down the Host Club until we can solve this mystery. 'Operation: Prove Elijah's innocence' is a go!!"
Hani-senpai put a fist up "Yeah!" Kyoya fixed his glasses "Not so fast Tamaki. If we do this, the Clubs profits will go down by 18% minimum. We can't afford to let that happen."
Tamaki looked at him shocked "How can you think about money in a crisis like this?! And besides, thanks to the commoner ideas Haruhi and Elijah have given us, we will have plenty of money afterwards. And besides, we need the help of your family's private police force if we're going to get this done!"
Kyoya closed his notebook and looked at us all in a way that even have me chills "Absolutely not."
Tamaki looked at the ground sadly and Kyoya sighed "If you want to help him, we must do this in a way so this doesn't get out to the media or any other students. Is this understood?"
Tamaki looked at him with happy puppy dog eyes "Bark!" He said happily but the mood broke when something started beeping. We looked around and it turned out to be Renge's watch "oops! Sorry everyone, but I have a full schedule today." She frowned "man, I really wanted my OTP to get back together to..."
"We will begin the operation during host club hours tomorrow. For today, everyone just get your bearings and prepare for tomorrow. You are all dismissed" We all agreed with Kyoya-senpai and began to leave.
When I got to the car, I was a little surprised to see Elijah wasn't there."Hello Haruhi!" He said cheerfully. "Hey dad " I greeted getting into the car "Did you see Elijah earlier?"
He thought about it "actually, I did. He chose to walk home today though. He looked very depressed too, do you know what happened to him?" I nod and looked out the window "Hikaru broke up with him. And said a lot of horrible things to him because somebody framed him for stealing."
I could hear my dad gasp "That's horrible! That poor boy..." He put the car in drive and began driving home "we should do something for him. Something to help him, no one should have to deal with a broken heart alone."
"Like what?" I asked. He snapped his fingers "I know! Let's do it the old fashioned way and get some ice cream! We can invite him over and the three of us can watch movies together!"
I nodded and gave my dad a small smile "That might actually help him a lot." And he began driving to the store.

By the time we got back to the house, it was starting to get dark, the only.thing that had light coming from.it were the streetlights and our headlights. Dad and I were in the middle of deciding which movies to watch when he stopped the car and sighed"If we show him Lord of the Rings, he'll most likely fall asleep,Haruhi." I shook my head "it's full of action and will take his mind off of the break up. If we show him Fault in Our Stars he'll only cry more than he already is!"
He shrugged "Toushe (is that how you spell it?) my daughter. He continued to find parking when we saw someone on the corner of the building, collapsing "oh dear." My dad said "Who do you suppose that was?" I couldn't see much because of the darkness, but I had a foreboding feeling and unbuckled "They might need help." I said, my dad agreed as we got out of the car to get to the person.
And I nearly screamed when I saw who it was.
Kaoru POV
I did it, I actually did it! I found the one thing that Hikaru despised and managed to break He and Elijah up! Part of me wanted to celebrate the success of my plan, but I knew I couldn't just yet. I looked at Hikaru who was on the opposite side of the car, staring out the window.
I decided to play the good brother and patted his back "I'm really sorry about Elijah." I said and to erase any suspicion, I added "Don't worry though, I know you'll find someone soon who will really love you."
If it made him feel better, he didn't show it. He shrugged my hand off and continued to stare out the window "After this, I don't think I'll be able to trust anybody ever again." He turned to me and hugged me "You're the only person I could ever trust Kaoru." His voice cracking at the end "Without you, I'll just be alone in the world."
I was a little surprised to hear him say that, but I hugged him back, not bothering to hide my grin "Thank you Hikaru, I promise that I'll always be here for you."
The car pulled up to the house and we both stopped hugging and walked out, into the house. I went to go to the room, while Hikaru stayed downstairs to get something to eat.
I closed the door to my room quietly and did a happy dance "yes!" I cheered quietly, sitting on my bed "I can't believe that my plan actually worked!" I got out my homework and began to go through it pretty easily.
I still couldn't believe it, I got that stupid commoner to break up with Hikaru, Hikaru completely took him out of the picture, and I have now just reassured all of his trust and love into me. I didn't have to share my brother with anybody anymore! Things were finally going my way. There was one thing that I forgot to do though, and that came to bite me from behind sooner than I thought.
Hikaru came into the room a little later and did his homework silently. I had to admit, it felt good to have my brother back, but right now I felt awkward in the silence. I looked at my homework and called to him "Hey Hikaru, do you know the answer to #8 on the math work?"
He stayed quiet for a while then answered "25. You really suck at math don't you?"
I smiled playfully "Well, you're the one failing your foreign language class, and I'm not talking about English." He frowned at me and went back to his work.
I tried finding something I could talk to him about, but they all could be traced back somehow to Elijah. I frowned and sighed leaning my head back "Hey, Kaoru." I finally heard him say "Yeah?" I asked hopefully.
He didn't look at me but asked "What were you and Haruhi doing for your English project?" I tried to remember "I think the movie was called 'The Breakfast Club'. Why?"
He nodded "Okay, who are you two playing?" I tried to remember "She's playing the Princess and the Basket Case, and I'm playing the Athlete, Brain, and Criminal." I couldn't help but laugh "Funny how that worked out considering today."
He stayed quiet and shrugged "Do you needed props for your scene?" He asked me. I shook my head "No. What's this about Hikaru?" I couldn't help but ask. He stopped writing "Nothing really, I just want to ask one last question."
He looked up at me, almost angry "Why did you ask mom to borrow her jewelry?"
Hikaru POV
I saw Kaoru's expression show shock, but quickly go to a mask of calm "What are you talking about?" He asked "I've never asked to borrow her jewelry. I don't do drag." He started doing his work again, which made me even more unsure about what I was doing. What if Kaoru isn't guilty and I loose my brother as well as a love? I shook my head. No, he wasn't my anything anymore.
But still...why did I feel so uneasy?remembering the events from earlier, I decided to press on "Really? Because I heard different earlier.
******flashback******
I stormed into the kitchen and sat down, puttinjg a hand over my face, groaning "I hate that boy!!"
The chef jumped up slightly and looked at me "What's the matter Master Hikaru?" I glared at him "Your brother is a cheat, a liar,and a thief, that's what's wrong with me!!"
His smile dropped, his expression hardening "Hey." He said seriously "my brother is many, many things, but he is not a theif. He has never stolen a thing in his life, he only lies if he's forced to, and the last thing he ever wants to do is betray someone's trust. Especially if it's by cheating."
I shook my head "Well it looks like you were wrong," I put my head in my hands "He stole one of my mother's necklaces and tried to say it was Kaoru of all people who planted it there!" I stopped and looked up at him"unless..."
He put his hands up "Hey now, I've got plenty of money and I have your mother and the rest of the staff as alibies saying I've been here all night in till I went home."
Well that rules him out as the real thief. 'Real thief? Don't tell me I still think Elijah's innocent. He even said on tape that it was what he planned to do the whole time. But then he said that Kaoru edited the audio,and considering our dad's job, it was possible.'
I sighed 'no way, Kaoru is my brother, my only real friend since that maid betrayed us all those years ago. He of all people would never betray me.'
At that moment, my mother was running into the room, putting on a pair of earnings "Tobi, make me something I can eat quickly and on the go. I have an emergency meeting on my newest fashion line today."
"Yes ma'am" he replied and started cooking. As he looked at me and sighed in relief "Thank god, Hikaru, does your brother still have my necklace, can you please tell him I need it back?"
My heart stopped processing what she said "Do you mean the one with a ruby heart?" I asked dreading the answer. She nodded "Yes, definitely that one. He asked to use it for school today, but I really need it right now." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, but I took the necklace out of my pocket and held it out "he gave it to me earlier." I said and she put it on, kissing me on the cheek "Thank you my boy." Tobi handed her a quick toasted sandwich and she took a bite nodded impressed "Not bad, one of your commoner tricks?"
He smiled "yes ma'am, good luck." She held the edge of the sandwich in her mouth, waved goodbye,, and was off.
Tobi's smile disappeared and he looked at me "By the look on your face, I'd say that was the necklace my brother 'opposedly stole' ?" I silently stood up "I have to go." I turned around and went to the room where my so-called brother was waiting.
******flashback end******
Kaoru laughed as I finished saying what happened "Oh come on, if the chef is the theif's brother, I wouldn't be surprised he makes up a lie protecting him. We should get rid of him."
I leaned back onto the headboard "I don't know, he sounded very serious when I was talking to him, and the look in his eyes showed he wasn't lying." I realized something "Come to think of it, I didn't look at either of your faces when you were telling your sides of the story, so how do I know your telling the truth?"
I looked at him and he looked at me, his laugh turning nervous "Come on Hikaru, you know I would never betray you, I would only do things for your own good." I held out my hand "Fine. Then you wouldn't mind if I took a look in your laptop to check something out."
He looked at me surprised "Come on Hikaru, if you need something, look it up on your own computer." I could see the laptop on the foot of his bed and he saw where I was looking, and we both leaped for it, tumbling onto the floor "Hikaru!" Kaoru said annoyed, but I could also hear the fear in his voice "Let go!"
I kept tugging at it,and tried to push Kaoru away as he did the same movements but reflected "Oh come on Kaoru, if you didn't do anything, then why can't I see it!?" His grip loosened on the lapt and I took it as an opportunity, yanking it from his hands, and logging on (our passwords were each others names) and went to the editing audio shortcut.
"HIKARU!"Kaoru shouted and tried to stop me, but not before I clicked 'original sound' on the last file he used. And a certain someone's voice came from the speakers:
"You're wrong Kaoru. I'm not around Hikaru just because he's from a rich family, he's a good person to me and I like being around him because he cares about me. He's cool, funny, a little inappropriate at times, yeah , but who isn't! I like him for him, not for his money. And If I was going to try and mooch off your family, I would try and get on everybody's good side, and I'm not that kind of person."
I paused it, an ominous silence filling the room. I was happy that Elijah didn't say what Kaoru showed he did, but I was angry at Kaoru for making it seem like he did. I took a deep breath "Kaoru. Why did you edit the audio?"
He backed up a few steps stammering "I...I..." I stood up and turned away from him "I believed you. No matter how much I loved Elijah and couldn't understand why he would do something like that, I believed your story." I remembered when I smacked him when he was begging me to believe him and clenched my fists "I put my hands on him, I said such awful things to him, because I believed you. I thought he betrayed me...when it was really you."
Kaoru said nothing, so I walked out of the room "You were worried about losing me as a brother? well now you've just confirmed your own fears." I slammed the door and walked downstairs. Of all people, Kaoru was supposed to have my back, but he did something I can't forgive easily.
I figured the first thing I should do was tell Elijah I was sorry, so I dialed his number and called.
One...two...three beeps, then voicemail 'Hey, this is Elijah! Leave me a message and I'll get back to you!' I hung up and called twice more, all voicemail, but like he wasn't picking up, not like it was dead. I looked at my phone curiously like it had the answer "Why isn't he picking up?"
I sighed "well this day can't get any worse can it?" I decided just to try and find him, but as I walked past the kitchen, someone ran into me, almost knocking me to the floor.I looked to see it was Tobi who bowed quickly "I'm sorry,I'm sorry!" He started talking in a rush "I have to go. This is an emergency. The maids are in charge, I pre cooked dinner so just microwave it. Oh god oh god I have to go!" I grabbed his hand as he started leaving "Hold on! What's going on that's gotten you so freaked out?"
His eyes were watery like he was going to cry, and what he said made my day even worse.
"Elijah's in the hospital."
Elijah POV
I ran as fast as I could out of the school, and as far as I could away from it, before stopping, leaning on a tree to catch my breath. He didn't believe me...I did everything I could to make him, but he didn't believe me! And to make it all worse, he...He...
I cupped my cheek and looked at my hand, it was still bleeding. I rested my head against the tree, feeling like my world was crashing down. The only people I trusted now think I'm a thief. The only one I loved, the only one I felt safe around, was the first to put his hands on me. Why did this world hate me? Why could I never find happiness here? What was happiness anymore?
I gasped for air and looked up at the sky which had grown clowdy. After I had caught my breath, I stood up, trembling, and began the long walk home, wondering what I did to deserve such a hell for a life.

When I opened the door to the house, I saw beer bottles strewn across the floor. My dad looked at me ,angrier than I've ever seen him in a while. "Boy, do you know what time it is?" I glanced that the corner clock which read 7:39. I looked at him, emotionless and uncaring "I'm an hour and a half late, so what? I had to walk, there's no big deal."
I walked to my room, but he grabbed me by my shirt front, his breath reeking of alcohol "Don't give me that lip boy, you know exactly what'll happen." Like an idiot, I provoked him "Or what? You just gonna toss me out? Go ahead, whatever's there will be better than this living hell. Just give me to Nagisa, I bet she'd love to have her son back."
SMACK!
He hit me across the face with his fist a few times and pinned me against the wall "I told you to never talk about that woman again, did I not!?" He threw me against the wall again, my head making a loud banging sound. Under normal circumstances, I would've winced, but I still felt numb from earlier.
Making things worse, I smirked "Like I'd really take orders from you anymore." I leaned forward whispering to him "You don't control me. So go ahead and kill me, get this over with." He glared at me and hit me again, then threw me to the ground. I couldn't see in my right eye anymore, and I could taste blood. I just laughed "Come on old man, make me feel some real pain!"
I stood up, staggering a little bit "or are you too scared to hit a homo?" If I was thinking strait, or wouldn't have said that. I knew very well how my dad took homosexuals, but I didn't care anymore. I wanted to die.
He stopped and looked at me "What?" I smirked "You heard right old man! Your bastard of a son is a homosexual, likes boys, it doesn't matter how you say it! I am gay!" I laughed hysterically "So what you gonna do about it, huh!?"
If I was smart. I would've seen him take up the beer bottle next to him, but I wasnt, and fell back down on the floor as it made contact with my head. I tried getting up, but he sat on my legs, making me unable to move, and started just pounding on me, punch after punch.
"Never! I'll never be the father to someone who's a homo, you stop lying to me damn it!" I tried blocking him from my face, but then he started punching me on the sides, grabbing the bottle again. That's when I heard the sound of glass breaking and felt sharp pain flaring up my ribs.
It was as if all the pain from today flooded to me at once, but I was too terrified to scream. He moved slightly, enough to let me move my leg, and I kicked him as hard as I could in the stones, running for my room. I felt something hit me in the back of the head and clank onto the floor, my father shouting horrible things to me. I slammed the door and tried to shove my bed in front of the door.
I slid against it not able to fight back my tears anymore. I could barely see, the ringing in my ears wouldn't stop and it hurt just to breathe.Everything I had on was sticky with blood. I sobbed, than stopped myself, by putting my fist in my mouth. I jumped as he started banging on the door, the bed moved. I couldn't find a way out, until I saw the window. But going out that way might kill me.
"ELIJAH OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!" My father's voice boomed, the bed moving farther from the door. Having no other choice, I opened the window, despite my pain, and jumped down without looking back.
As soon as I landed, I heard something snap and howled in pain, holding my ankle. I could hear the door finally bang open from the window, and limped as quickly as I could into the shadows. He leaned his head out and looked all around, and finally spotted me.
"Shit." I muttered and turned, trying to run, but my bad leg gave out on me and I dropped to the floor. I was glad it did, if I didn't drop when I did, a glass bottle would've hit me in the head. Unfortunately, as I got up, it's glass shards cut into my hands. I heard him shouting at me to get back there, but soon they turned to threats "If I ever see your face again,I'LL KILL YOU!"
That was the last thing I heard him say before my vision started going dark. I gripped the side of the building tightly, trying to focus on the pain, my surroundings, anything to keep me awake.
I thought of calling Haruhi for help, but no. She hates me too. That and my phone wasn't on me anymore. It must've fallen out in the house somewhere. 'Come on, think' I told myself. A hospital. I needed to find a hospital. I leaned on the wall for support, trying to stay of my bad leg, but it was getting hard to breathe. Like I couldn't get enough air. I made it to the front of the building. I tried to get off the wall, but as soon as I did, pain flared up my leg and my chest.
I had to bite my hand to keep from screaming, but I managed and started limping towards the sidewalk, but the pain was too unbearable. All the energy from my body left at once, and I collapsed on the sidewalk, this time not being able to get up. I felt my tears coming down, burning the cuts on my face as they met.
The last thing I saw were headlights and two people coming towards me. Then everything faded black.
Finally finished!!! Okay for anyone who's confused, these POVs were written to take place at the same time as each other. Anyone hate me yet? Apparently not because this story now has 2.1K READS!!
