"Oh" it became dead silent "are you?" Aki's dad turned to Zoya
"No but it doesn't matter" she snapped
"Zoya's my girlfriend" Obie clarified awkwardly
"Are you saying Akeno?" Aki's mom asked Audrey who looked completely terrified and guilty
"Oh hi," Audrey got the hospital on the phone and was able to get out of the conversation "oh I have to go," she told Aki's parents walking away "Hi, so Kiki's good?" I followed her into the bathroom where she started freaking out "Oh my god, oh my god" she put the hand dryer on and screamed
"Audrey!" I grabbed her arms trying to calm her down
"I just outed my boyfriend to his family" Audrey cried "I cannot believe what I just did, I'm a horrible person"
"It's going to be ok" I assured her
"You know what? no, it's fine, this is not my fault, it's not" she tried convincing herself but didn't seem to be getting that far "he wanted me to come tonight, I didn't want to come tonight, I wanted to stay at the hospital I-I"
"Hey, Audge, you're just tired alright, you're going through something very hard and this is not helping, you're ok, everything will be ok, Aki will understand"
"Ok, so, what do I- what do I- how- what do I do?" she stammered breathing heavily
"You need to tell him what happened," I told her, she pointed her tiny finger in my face
"Absolutely not, no!" suddenly some tiny little voice came out of nowhere "do- do you hear that? where is that coming from"
"From your phone Audrey," I said exasperatedly she gasped and grabbed the phone
"Hello?" she furrowed her eyebrows "yes, this is, ok"

The next morning I woke up to a few texts from Max, I quickly opened them to see what was wrong.
M: I know you don't love me at the moment but could you come over
M: I really need your help right now
M: My dad did something again
M: please Cat
I sighed and rolled out of bed, it was 8:00 in the morning and I really didn't want to get up. I threw on a pair of sweat pants and a loose-fitting shirt before heading downstairs where my dad was cooking breakfast "Where are you going this early in the morning?" he asked setting down the pan with eggs in it
"To Max's," I told him simply grabbing my purse
"I thought you two broke up"
"We did"
"Then why are you going over there?"
"We can still be friends dad" I laughed a bit "he's dealing with some family stuff right now, weren't you friends with Serena after the two of you broke up?"
"Not really" he sighed as I walked to the elevator
"Well, I'll see ya later dad" he waved goodbye and I was on my way. I understood where my father was coming from, I mean, Max had hurt me a lot but friends still need to support each other, and Max's friendship wasn't one I was willing to lose. I hadn't seen his fathers in a long time, we stopped having weekly dinners after we broke up and he started with Rafa. When I got there I was about to knock when the door swung open
"Cat!" Max exclaimed, he looked really tired and quite put down "thanks for being here"
"Yeah, no problem" I went inside and put my bag down "what's going on?"
"Lemme show you" he pulled his phone out and handed it to me, I looked down at a screenshot from Instagram, Rafa had sent it, in the picture was his dad sitting in Rafa's apartment having a drink
"What does it mean?" I asked, "is your dad with Rafa?"
"I don't know but I need your advice on what to do" he sighed "I know Rafa's just trying to get to me but I don't like that my dad was there"
"I think you need to talk about it with your dad," I told him honestly "just tell your dad the truth, what's been going on and how it makes you feel"
"I just don't want him to hate me"
"Max, he's your dad, he could never hate you" I wrapped an arm around him "to be honest, considering his current situation I think that he would be happy he's talking to you at all, no matter what the topic is"
"Yeah, you're probably right" he put his phone down "thanks Cat" I nodded and gave him a full hug, I knew that my friends were going through a rough point right now and all I could do was support them "I want to talk about one other thing"
"Ok," I said wondering where this would go
"I miss you" he blurted out "I know you're standing right in front of me and I see you all the time but I miss what it was like before, I really do, I know that I hurt you and I will keep apologizing for it but I wasn't lying when I told you that I wanted you all those weeks ago"
"Max-" I began
"Please Cat, give us another chance" he pleaded, I so badly wanted to say yes but I didn't want to get hurt again, I didn't know what to do but I had to give him an answer
"Ok" I whispered and a grin spread over his face, he walked over and scooped me up, I laughed happily and wrapped my arms around his neck, I knew I had forgiven him very easily but it just felt right
"I'll never hurt you again" he promised

There comes a moment in every child's life when you realize the horrible truth that's been hidden from you all along, your parents are human just like you, they make mistakes and then repeat them. They act in their own self-interests and lie to themselves to feel better, they cheat, manipulate, and evade, but most of all, they do not learn.
"Hello?" Aki walked into Audrey's apartment, we were all having a dinner that was a thank you for helping Audrey and Kiki out
"Hi," we all said, Audrey walked out of the kitchen while Max and I were seated at the table
"What's going on here?" Aki asked
"Glad you could make it" Audrey smiled "this is a thank you to my three friends, I do not know what I would have done without you three this week and all the while you were dealing with your own things"
"Aww, well you did not need to do all this" Max grinned
"Sit," Audrey told Aki "it's my turn to shine" she ran into the kitchen and brought out a very amazing looking dish of pork chops
Therapy may help you identify your issues, but once created they're there forever, it's how you react to them that can change and that is amongst the hardest things to do. The plain and simple truth is that it feels better to be bad than to do good.
"This was lovely," Max said after we finished our meal "thank you, I think we're going to give you some privacy and head out" I stood up and started to gather my things
"What's private from you?" Aki asked that's when it hit me, shit, I had to get out of here Audrey took Max's hand and pulled him in for a kiss, I shot out of my seat and stood up
"Yeah, I'm gonna go," I told them awkwardly "this" I waved my arms around at the scene in front of me "this is not my thing" I quickly walked out the door and into the hallway, so much for never hurting me again, I thought I lay my head against a wall
"Cat!" Max cam running out
"What?" I asked annoyed, I was too tired to get angry
"I'm sorry, I-I shouldn't have done that"
"Yeah no shit"
"Cat"
"If you feel so bad then why did you do it?" I snapped
"I don't know"
"Do you even care about me"
"Of course I do" he sighed running his hands through his hair "I love you Cat, I have for a while now, I may not have always shown it but I do love you" there was a dead silence
"I love you too"
Spotted: Max and Cat sealing the deal, it was only a few weeks ago that he broke her heart but I guess this kitten and wolf are meant to be. Let's just hope it lasts and if it does, Constance will be looking at a new power couple, look out JC, a new queen might be on her way.
