Chapter 11
I woke up after only an hour of sleep on my now bare bed, I looked around and the world that I've been living in for the past almost 5 years, dissappared into a brighter world. And for once, I could breathe in completely and not feel the ache.
I got up from bed, walking throuhg my apartment getting ready with every step. I got into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, looking at how plain I looked; I opened the medicine cabinet grabbing my case of make-up from the shelves. I opened the case to the aray of colorful eye-shadows and eye-liners, the bruising blush; it all seemed to glow with welcome. I began on to my new day with a new face out lined with the influenced beauty of makeup.
I walked into the kitchen looking throught the cabinets for food even the tiniest of crumbs, but from last night when the full realization that i was straving hit, I took everything but the wood from teh counters. I sighed and looked at my watch, I have time...and a bag of McDonald's hashbrowns sound fabulous right now.
I pulled into the parking lot with my passenger being my bag full of fifth teen hashbrowns, I got out and started walking up to the lobby doors where I saw Danni sitting, "hey Danni." I smiled as he looked up until I saw his face and my face drew in horror. I ran over to him and gently grabbed his face to look at the bruising that showed up over night. "Oh my god Danni what happened?!"
He smiled even though I could see the pain in his eyes, "don't worry so much Kegan, I just totally ate it last night on my way home." He tried to laugh it off, but he was lying to me; something else was going on. He must of realized the dissapproving look I was giving him when he changed the subject; "What's in the bag?" He snatched it from me.
"Hey now! Give it back!" I tried reaching for it, but he jumped up and started reading the order that ws staple on the side of the bag.
"FIFTH-TEEN HASHBROWNS?! Kegan you're gonna give yourself a heart attack!" He said as I took a few steps toward him, and he took the same back.
"So?! They're mine! Give them back!" He took off in a mad dash across the front lawn that was soaked in dew. "DANNI!" I took off after him, begin careful not to slip.
"KEGAN!" He yelled back; we made it a lap around the lawn when Danni took one step to many and slipped face first into the grass, it was a pretty comedic scene. He rolled over as I walked up to him, "I'm so sorry."
"What are yo-," I looked down and saw my crushed McDonalds bag stuck in the mud from where he landed on it. "DANNI!" I think I was about to cry. Danni jumped up, while cont' to look down at the bag.
"I'll go right now and buy you some more, Kegan I'm sorry. Here let me give you a hug you look like you're about to cry." I looked over at him and took in the mischievious look on his face, I looked down to see his mud covered shirt.
I started trying to run from his grip, only to have him grab me before I could make off, "Danni No!" We starrted laughing, I pushed back and he slipped back down bring me with him. We laughed even more, with him keeping his wrapped arms around me. Ready to get up I turned over in his arms, but he stopped me when we came face to face.
He tucked a piece of lose hair behind my ear and really looked at my face, "you look beautiful today Kegan. With or with out the make up," he said smiling. I smiled back and for a moment I got lost in the infinate possiblities that seemed to cloud my mind. He started to come forward to me and I only hesitated for a second before I started to lean in to meet him.
"KEGAN!" Damn you Heath.
