3rd POV
There on the stage was a beautiful young woman accepting an Potamkin Prize award and she was only 29 years old. She has been receiving awards since she finished her neurosurgeon course and has been dipping her toes in science when she was only 14 years old. She has a doctorate in neurosurgeon and neuroscience,also one in Law and a Master's degree in Computer science. She basically has a finger in every pie but she was met with a tragedy a year ago that only hardened her already stone of a heart.
"Thank you again for this award,if my husband was here he'd really appreciate. James left me a lot of money when he passed away and that's money I'll be donating to every cancer project and experiment out there. I've tried everything to cure James and we did" She said her voice cracking a little "which is why I am giving 140 million to cancer project of any kind so that a lot of people won't have to go through what my husband did and I know this is what he'll want me to do with the money. Thank you" she said finishing up her speech.
She was talking to her colleagues and maybe friends at the after party,when Khalil asked for her.
"A, Dr. Brown would like to speak with you" he said
"And here I thought my night was going great,lead me to her" she said following him into the back of the building.
There on the dark was a woman pacing up and down with her red gown flowing graciously.
Dr. Brown
"Dr. Brown how can I help you?" Astrid asked the woman.
"You can help me by giving my project,the fucking money you promised me!" She said with gritted teeth.
"Sorry I can't do that" she said "Your whole project was based on enhumane experiments and remember how James didn't want anything to do with you once he found out? " Astrid asked her "Now imagine giving you his money to carry more enhumane experiments, he'll roll in his grave"
"Don't tell me about your dead husband!" Dr. Brown screamed "The was lot of things James didn't know and I'm sure he'll roll in his coffin until he gets over it" she told Astrid "I've never done those things before until I offered to be on the team that helped James because you guys were my friends and now you want to blame everything on me" she yelled.
"There's one thing you aren't going to do and that's disrespect my husband. I won't give you the money Melissa and that's final,now go hung yourself on a tomato tree" Astrid said walking away until Melissa shouted her name.
"How about I tell the press and police about all the experiments we've done" she shouted "And I mean everything from the unlawful experiments we did with the homeless and poor people huh!!" She said grabbing Astrid's wrist and turning her around.
Astrid was a quiet for a long time but then she smiled "There's no need to do that Mel,how long have we known each other?" She asked Melissa.
"Since freshmen in Harvard and I was the one who took care of you after that whole thing,I also introduced you to James too" Melissa said.
"I am grateful Mel's and you know what you're right, you did everything in your power to help my husband and you did" she said tapping her phone "Just sent the money on the offshore accounts I opened for you, go and help a lot of people Mel's"
Melissa smiled "Thank God because I wouldn't do good in jail and I would've cut a deal with the police" she joked.
"I know Mel and I am so sorry,I wasn't thinking let's hug it out" Astrid said pulling her into her arms "After James died I've just been trying to do everything by the book and honour his dying wished but for you I guess I'll bend some rules" she said then bashed her head with the award on her right hand and watched her fall to her knees.
"You should have took your chance with the tomato tree Mels" she said before bashing her head in " Bitch ruined my dress,give her a water burial at Marina trench and see you in America Khalil" she waved bye to him while cleaning herself up.
Two months later
Kris's POV
It was a busy day at the hospital because of an accident that happened outside town involving the secretary of finance and she was in need of a surgery. Dr. Golden-Andreassen apparently called the best neurosurgeon in Europe and they were now in the Operating room.
After six hours I was able to sit down and take a down breathe but there was still a lot of work to do. My pager beeped requesting all available doctors and nurses to the front desk for an important announcement.
We get there and there is Dr. Golden-Andreassen with a girl besides her wearing scrubs and she was drop-dead gorgeous.
The girl
"okay everyone this here is Dr. Astrid Alexandria Golden-Andreassen,she is the new neurosurgeon and neuropyschology but mostly she'll be the attending general manager. Please welcome her with warm hands and make her feel at home" Ander said "here are your residents baby"
"Thanks dad" She said "As my father said I'll be your new attending manager and resident,I don't like incompetent,lazy,stupid people on my team but mostly I don't like slow people. I also don't like repeating myself,being bothered by minor things because I'm sure your professors taught you well and if you were daydreaming in class quit now Doc McStuffin. Now here are the people who'll be on my team Angela Montgomery,Jordan Jackson,Kristopher Watters and Lily Brown. The people I picked should study what Mr Stein has and tomorrow you'll tell me his diagnosis and the person who is right will be doing their first surgery,you are all dismissed" she said with the stoic face she started with.
We went our separate ways and as soon as we entered the cafeteria,Angela screamed her lungs out and danced in what I assumed is excitement.
"What's up with her?" I asked one of the residents confused
"What's up with her? Dude whats down with you,I'll probably be jumping for joy too if I was chosen by Dr. Astrid too," he said and I still looked him with confusion "You seriously don't know who she is?" He asked sounding surprised and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Let me tell you who she is" Angela said popping out of nowhere "She is the best thing after sliced bread okay! She is the greatest doctor in North America,Africa,Europe and the UK. She is just the greatest to ever do medicine" she finished dreamily
"Whatever Angela just said is true" John said "I espire to be just like her,I sometimes wished I had a brain like hers"
"Well I got mine and now my life is going to be complete" Angela said walking out of the cafeteria with John.
I don't know who this Astrid chick is but she seems like she is a big deal,which is why after I got home,showered and ate I searched on Google about her.
"Astrid Golden-Andreassen born 1993 September 08 is the number one neurosurgeon and surgeon in the world today. She went to ..... Academy where she finished her 12th grade at the age of 15 with an IQ of 316 and by 16 she went to Havard Medical School but a year later went back to Cambridge University for Neurosurgeon and Neuropyschology studies then went for Masters in Law in Oxford University. In 2015 she got married to Dr. James Walker who is a big time lawyer , Now here are thethings you didn't know about Dr. Astrid Golden-Andreassen." I got out of the page because I knew the important stuff and wow married at 21!
