The O'Hara family were fairly well known around Derry. Not just because of their beaming red hair, but for the way they treated people.
Someone was having a party? The O'Hara's arrived there first, helping to set up and bringing plates upon plates of food. Someone was in trouble? The O'Hara's were there; to give advice or to give a smack on the back of the head, was anyone's guess. All that anyone knew was that the O'Hara's were some of the nicest people in Derry.
So when they learnt that the Mallon family, had a cousin coming to live with them for a while, they went out of their way to make the new addition feel welcome.
Some more than others.
