"MOMMA PLEASE" Sara, my seven year old daughter, screamed at the top of her lungs thrashing her feet and flailing her arms around.
"I said no sara you've had to much" I said looking down to her from the dinning table offering a small smile but Sara just scowled back at me. after having a small family dinner to celebrate stella's sixteenth birthday, everyone had just stayed sat around the table talking apart from Stella who excused herself to go and get ready. She had made plans to spend the evening at a bowling alley with her friends and newish boyfriend.
"MOMMA" Sara stamped her foot,
"uh oh the Sara-Saurus Rex is coming out" Sebastian said Dryly, Anthony laughed at the long running joke. before getting up and taking his 'niece' in his arms. Anthony started tickling her, spinning Sara around distracting Her from her dessert fuelled rage.
After Sara's tantrum was successfully diffused, we decided to move to the living room. Chris Sebastian Anthony and I all grabbing a beer from the fridge before getting comfortable on the couches. We all talked together for a while, but I quickly noticed how seb's eyes kept drifting between the stairs and the front door. He knew stellas boyfriend was picking her up, and to say the least he was protective and wanted to be the first to open the door. To give the guy a once over, the Seb stamp of approval.
I patted his leg before standing up, placing my half empty beer glass on the table. "I'm gonna go check on her" he nodded kissing my cheek before I walked up the stairs. Knocking gently on stella's door. Hearing her voice from the other side I walked in. She was sat at her vanity curling her hair.
"Hey mom, what's up?" she smiled at me through the mirror as I walked in and sat down on the end of her bed. "Nothing, just come to check on you and get away from your dads door watching"
Stella groaned and threw her head back, spinning her chair to look at me "is he gonna be weird when Louis gets here?"
I shrugged cringing a little, "I won't lie he probably will be, but that's only because he's nervous although he won't admit it"
"Nervous why the hell would he be nervous" Stella mumbled confused. "Because he's your dad...and He's a little scared that if he doesn't like Louis he won't be able to say something because you'll be annoyed with him, because we both know he's not into the whole you dating thing just yet"
Stella nodded "considering he played a big tough super soldier with a metal arm...he's a big softie" she added the last bit with a sly grin at the end. I laughed and shook my head "you have no idea stell" I stood up and kissed her head before walking out "I'll call you down when the door goes alright and I'll hold off the softie"
Stella laughed and I shut her door, heading back downstairs.
When I got to the bottom I rejoined the guys in the living room, this time Sara came and sat on my lap giving me puppy's eyes as she did so. "sorry for shouting" she mumbled so quiet that I could only just hear her over Chris and Anthony's laughter. I smiled down to her running my hand through her hair as she nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck hugging me tightly.
Sebastian's arm fell from the back of the couch onto my shoulder subconsciously pulling me into his side as he chatted and laughed with Anthony.
It was then that the door bell went. Seb immediately stood up. But I stood aswell, resting Sara on my hip. Chris and Anthony both grinned at each other. "Go on Seb go full daddy Stan on the boy" Anthony chanted but soon stopped when i shot him a look. "Sorry kam" he said with a huge ass kissing grin on his face.
"STELLA" I yelled up the stars as I made my way towards the front door pulling it open, revealing a fairly tall floppy haired brunet boy nervously waiting with flowers. I smiled down at him, Sara moving her head from my shoulder to get a good look at her older sisters boyfriend. Seb also appearing behind me, while Anthony and Chris looked through the doorway trying to see what was happening.
"Hi, you must be Louis it's great to finally meet you"
"It's good to meet you two, Stella talks about you and mr Stan a lot" he smiled back clearly growing more confident as he spoke. Seb gave a happy grunt with the respectful address Louis had said.
"Oh I've got these for you" Louis raised the flowers he was holding handing them to me. I smiled taking them from him and stepping back a little, "aww that's so sweet, I'm going to go put these in a vase Stella should be down in a second why dont you come in and wait"
I subtly moved Sebastian who was stood like a brick wall blocking the door, Sebastian reluctantly followed me to the kitchen where Chris and Anthony had moved to, in an attempt to get a better view. I put Sara down and she scurried of probably to see what was taking her older sister so long.
Anthony quickly got to work chatting with Louis barely giving the teenage boy a chance to walk in the house. While Seb stood beside me on the opposite side of the island, his arm wrapped around my waist drawing random circles on my hips mindlessly with his finger as he watched Louis laugh at something Anthony had said about Chris.
But then it went serous and Anthony stopped smiling I rolled my eyes already knowing what he was playing at.
"So Louis now that we've got the laughs out of the way we're friends right" Anthony paused and Louis nodded slowly clearly confused. "Great so I'm going to ask you a question and because we're friends your going to answer honestly"
"Oh my god" I mumbled under my Breath looking away from Anthony resting my forehead on seb's shoulder, his arm around me tightened a little making me look up to see him looking down at me "I haven't said anything it's all Anthony" he whispered down to me. I smiled kissing his cheek before I whispering back "I know" he looked away a smug smile growing on his face knowing Anthony would be the one getting told off by Stella once she got home.
Finally Stella came down the starts just as Anthony asked his question "what are your intentions with out stell"
"Alright well that's not happening...we have to go" Stella quickly said walking from the stairs taking Louis hand in hers, Seb visibly tensed, as Stella guided Louis towards the door. Anthony shook his head "don't cut me off like that Stella" Anthony called after her as she pulled Open the door and looked back at us. "Have fun and be back by 12" I quickly shouted before Stella nodded and waved goodbye quickly ushering Louis out the door. But not before he smiled back and said goodbye to us all.
Chris patted his legs and grinned "well that went well, Seb didn't go all winter soldier on him" I let out a laugh as I hoisted myself up onto the counter so I could sit down.
Seb shrugged at Chris with a smile before mumbling back, "He seems nice enough-"
"-cheep flowers though"
