Once Idina and I walk through the doors and the smell of bread soaks up in our clothes like perfume Brie walks in too,
"Idina have you met Brie?" I ask knowing the answer,
"I can't say I have," she smiles and shakes Brie's hand, "Pleasure to meet you Brie!"
"Likewise." Brie is smiling like she is about to punch someone. I know she is angry at me for not talking to her. I mean can you blame me? Idina Menzel and I now hang out! It's like living a dream. I know that sounds like a jerk thing to say. I am supposed to love my friend, but life kind of happens.
I pay for all of our sandwiches. When we all walk up to the register the guy behind it starts to freak out,
"Oh my gOSH," he yells, "IDINA MENZEL IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!" and he almost passes out. Idina and I look at each other for a moment (even though that's how I feel right now as well.)
"Um, hi?" she says nervously,
"H-h-hello!." he says equally nervous except, you can tell, "T-that will be $16.75. Um, I know this may sound weird, but can I take a picture with you?"
"Of course!" I glance at his name tag and see his name is Logan. He hands me his phone and I take a picture of Logan and Idina. To be honest Logan is just a big ball of sweet.
After a few pictures he takes his phone back and stands behind the register. We all get our drinks and sit down in a booth. To make Brie less ticked off I sit next to her instead of Idina because if I didn't who knows what she would have done.
We all unwrap our sandwiches in some really weird in sync motion. Brie looks mad of course. Idina is in an awkward looking state and I am here trying to think of a good way to start a conversation while a I'm chompind down on a 6" sandwich. Why are conversations so hard? I ask myself, I don't know, BUT WHY IS IT SO EASY TO TALK TO MY DANG SELF? I swallow my rather big bite of sandwich and try to start up that conversation,
"Brie, this is Idina. Idina, this is Brie." I say OF COURSE I DID THAT. BRIE OBVIOUSLY KNOWS WHO SHE IS AND I TOLD IDINA THAT SHE WAS COMING. I start to cringe in my seat, but things are going better than I thought. They shake hands and start talking, but then they kind of forget about me. I actually don't mind. I sip some iced tea and just listen to their conversation.
