Sophie sat in bed as Tam studied her burns. She anxiously tugged out an eyelash. "Tam?" she asked, her voice catching on the first syllable making it sound like "Ta-am"
Tam look up. "Yeah?"
Sophie took a deep breath,"Why can't anyone get near me besides you?"
Tam sat on the bed by Sophie's feet with a sigh, "If there was a Pyrokinetic they could be near you too, but..." he trailed off.
A/N: Adira hasn't finished the entire series yet so she doesn't know who the newly manifested pyrokinetic is so NO SPOLIERS FOR POOR ADIRA!

A/N: okay, Also, for future refrence, here are Malum's abilities. Shade, Pyrokinetic, Mesmer, and a secret ability that will be revealed soon, and by soon I mean around the 25th chapter. Until then you all just have to cry and beg for a clue.
Tam cleared his throat, "You see, these burns give off radiation that only pyrokinetics and shades can withstand."
Sophie finished for him, "Because a Neverseen pyrokinetic and shade combined Everblaze and Shadowflux." she paused briefly, "But why can't we melt the skin off?"
Tam smiled sadly, "We could, but the burns around your neck aren't the problem. They didn't just burn you physically, but..."
Sophie cocked her head curiously, "But what?"
Tam sighed, " Have you used your abilities since Mr. Forkle rescued you?"
"No, I haven't."
"Somehow, they didn't just burn your skin. They burned your abilities too."
