"Girls ready to go?" Mom calls
"Yeah!" Maddie shouts back
we all get in the car and we drive to dance
"Do you think Abby will be in a good mood this week?" Maddie asks
"Yeah! The group dance won for the first time on the show!" I say
"Abby will definitely be in a good mood" Maddie laughs

"Okay so starbound, can we have a round of applause? Woohoo!" Miss Abby cheers
We all clap
"Okay Brooke, you blew them away the people sitting around me were in awe when you did your handstand twist."
Brooke smiles
"But why all the drama with the hip? If you are seriously injured you don't need to go to your mother and get everybody worked up, you come to me and that needs to be clear yes?" Miss Abby says
Brooke nods
"I wanna talk about this week's competition.." Miss Abby trials off
I didn't pay attention I knew the rant every time we went to competition here in Pittsburgh we got the "my peers will be here everyone will be here" so I didn't really need to pay attention
Miss Abby turns the chalk board around
"Do you see there's somebody new on top?" Miss Abby says
"Yes Brooke, you are here because of your performance, you worked through an injury you did what you had to do your a team player" Miss Abby says
Brooke smiles
"You are getting a solo this weekend" Miss Abby says to Brooke
"Kayla and Maddie you are also getting solos this weekend"
"the five on the bottom what am I supposed to do with you?" Miss Abby asks
"You need to step it up you need to get your butt back into class and start working on your technique"
"Since were in Pittsburgh this weekend I'm gonna give every single one of you a solo"
That's a lot of solos.
The moms clap
"Okay let's go!"
After a long couple hours in class it's finally my time to learn my solo

"Okay your solo is a contemporary piece called red rose" Miss Abby says
i don't know why she's explaining it..i did this solo a year ago.
I learn my solo and go from the top it's too the song red rose by vera
"Beautiful!" Miss Abby says as I finish

We finish up rehearsals and we're finally going home
"So how do you like your solos?" Mom asks
"Mines is one I've done before but it's named different" Maddie says
"Same" Kenzie says
"yep." i nod
"Yeah I love mine but tap hardly wins anymore and I'm up against you and Chloe and Paige and Nia" Maddie says
"I doubt you'll loose to Paige and Nia." I say
i'm glad cameras weren't here to pick that up
"that's mean" Kenzie says

"I know but I've competed against them a lot and they've never came close to beat me the competitions they've won I've either wasn't doing a solo for that competition or wasn't at it" I backtrack
"How does that help me?" Maddie asks
"We are at the same level of talent if they can't beat me they won't be able to beat you" I say
"That's right" Mom says
mom agrees.
"what about Chloe?" Maddie says
"I can't help you on that Chloes beaten us both a good couple of times" I say
"Fair." Maddie yawns
"Okay girls were home" Mom says
|Two Days Till Competition|
We left a bit early this morning as me and Maddie had a private with Gia and Abby
I was working with Gia and Maddie with Abby
"Can I see Kayla for a moment?" Abby asks
Gia nods and I walk into the room with Maddie in it
"Okay I wanna enter another solo for yous both" Abby says
"So will we be doing two solos?" I ask
"Yes." Miss Abby says
i smile
"Any solos in mind that you can do?" Miss Abby asks
"I can do cry?" Maddie says
"Yes good. Kayla?" Miss Abby asks
"I can do my bring it on solo" I say
"Okay make sure your mom knows to bring the solo costumes" Miss Abby says
We both nod
We go to mom
"Miss Abby said we are doing two solos so we need the bring it on and cry costume" Maddie says
"Okay that's fine" mom nods
We smile
"Thanks!" We both say in unison
|Competition Day|
We're finally at the competition we're all getting ready for our solos and I guess mines and Maddies first solos
"Okay everyone let's go!"
We all walk into our dressing room and mom starts on Maddies makeup for her tap solo while I get into costume
Kaylas costume:
I twirl on my costume I love it so much!
"Kayla come here" Mom says I walk over and sit down and she does my hair and makeup
"Remember you have two solos and you are going to do fabulous" Mom whispers to me
I smile and nod
Kaylas hair:
All of us walk backstage to get ready to perform
"Welcome Mackenzie to the stage with mouse trap!" The announcer says
"good luck" I say to Kenzie
As she enters as she performs she is absolutely adorable! After Kenzie finishes I hug her so tight
"You were so good Kenz!" I say to her
"Thanks." She says
Maddie also hugs her and she goes back to the hall to find mom
"Welcome Vivi-Anne to the stage with BumbleBee" the announcer says
Vivi enters and does her dance
"She's good but Kenzies also six and she's way better" Maddie says to me
"Agreed" I say back
"Oh she fell" Chloe says
"She did?" I say
"Yeah" Chloe says
After Vivi performs its Maddies turn to go on
"Good luck!" I say to her
"Thanks!" She says
"Welcome Maddie to the stage with Acapella!" The announcer says
Maddie goes on and taps her heart out they are very clear! She exists the stage and I hug her
"That was the best you've done it!" I say
She smiles
"thanks! I hope I win" she says
"We will see" I smirk
She rolls her eyes playfully
Brooke is getting ready to perform
"Good luck Brooke!" Chloe says to her
"Thanks." She says
"Welcome Brooke to the stage with Break Me" the announcer says
"Her dance,is really pretty she is such a good dancer" I say to Chloe
"I know right!" She says back to me
Brooke finishes her dance and it's my turn to preform,
"Good luck!" Paige says to me
"Thanks.!" I say
"Welcome Kayla to the stage with Red Rose" the announcer says
I go on stage into my starting pose the music starts and I try really hard with the dance
I remember what Abby said to make eye contact with the judges and I do just that I finish my dance and I see my mom cry I walk off stage
Chloe attacks me with a hug
"you were so good!" She says
"Thank you!" I say
"good luck with your solo" I say as I walk to the audience and sit beside Maddie
Nia is next to perform and she was pretty good Paige is next
"Welcome Paige to the stage with Double Take" the announcer says Paige goes on and she very sassy up until she forgets her dance
oh no..
"Is she okay?" I ask Maddie
"I don't know" she says
Paige goes offstage and Kelly goes to find her
"I feel really bad Abby looks really mad" I whisper
"I know" Maddie says
"Moving on please welcome Chloe to the stage with Mother" the announcer says and Chloe comes on stage
Abby didn't do the poor girl justice with this solo it wasn't her best and she was shaky
"I think Abby could've done better with her solo" I whisper
"Yeah" Maddie frowns
Christi does not look happy
Chloe finishes her solo
"Wooooo!" I cheer for her
"Maddie, Kayla we need to get you ready for your other solos." Mom says
We follow her to the dressing room
Maddie gets into her cry costume while mom does my hair
"Go get your costume and and I'll put the bow in after" Mom says
"Okay" I say
"Maddie come here so I can do your makeup and hair" Mom says to Maddie
"Okay." Maddie says and walks over to mom
I get into my Bring it on costume and I still love it
"Kayla can I do your bow" Mom asks
"Yeah" I say
Mom puts my bow in my hair and the moms and girls come in
Kaylas costume and bow:
I smile and run to Chloe "you were so good!" I say to her
"Yeah I guess." She frowns
"What's up?" I ask
"It wasn't my best solo" she sighs
"You were Great! I promise." I say to her and hug her!
"Maddie,Kayla let's go." Mom says
"Good luck, again" Chloe says
I smile and walk out of the dressing room with Maddie
With mom and Kenz behind us
We turn the corner and I hear Christi shouting
"Melissa!"
"Good luck mads" I hug her
"You to!" She says
"Welcome Maddie to the stage with Cry" the announcer says
Maddie goes on and performs her heart out
I shake my body out take a breath
Maddie finishes and walks off
"You were really good" I say
"thank you" Maddie smiles
"Welcome Kayla to the stage with Bring it on" the announcer says
I walk onstage and perform the best I can I finish and I walk off stage
"You were amazing!" Maddie says
"Thanks" I smile

"In fourth place overall is Chloe with mother" the announcer says
Chloe gets up and gets her award
"In second place overall is Maddie with Cry" the announcer says
Maddie goes to get her award
"And in first place Overall is Kayla with Red Rose!" The announcer says
I smile and go to get my award

"Well done mads" I smile to her
"You too!" She smiles back and high fives me
I walk over to Chloe
"You did really good you didn't deserve fourth" I say to her and Side hug her
"Thanks. But I'm more worried about Abby she wanted everyone do win" Chloe sighs
"Unfortunately Abbys going to have to learn that not everyone can win constantly" I say
"But you win" she says
"Not all the time you beat me with baby mine" I giggle
"I guess" she smiles
We turn the corner with Abby and the moms
"Woooooo!!" Abby screams
We all start running towards our moms
"Good Job!" Mom says to me and Maddie and
Kenzie hugs mom
"Good job baby!" She says to Kenzie
Miss Abby gives me a huge hug
"Alright let's go" Miss Abby says to us
"Abby I think we need to talk" Christi says to Abby as we walk
"no you're not gonna ruin this day" Miss Abby says
"No we need to talk Abby in the hallway now" Christi says
"Are you kidding? I'm a paying client and you won't speak to me" Christi says again
Abby walks into the dressing room
"no nothings worth that much money." Miss Abby says
We all walk into the dressing room and I put my ALDC jacket on
"I'm so excited for you!" Mom says to me

"What does it mean?" Kenzie asks
"It means she got the best award." Mom says as Christi storms into the dressing room
"No you don't wanna ruin the way to victory" Christi says
"I'm not ruining today" Miss Abby says

"We need to go into the hallway." Christi says
"Don't be doing this infront of my Daughters Christi!" Mom speaks up
"We can all go in the hallway! Cause I tried to talk to you and I tried to talk to you" Christi points to my mom and Abby

"Let's go in the hallway!" Christi says

"My daughters are happy." Mom says as she gets her things
i start to pick up my dance bag slowly
"Let's go in the hallway! Do you wanna talk about all the things that need to be talked about" Christi pauses
"Not here not now!" Miss Abby says
"You won't talk about it! And you won't talk about it!" Christi points again
"You aren't paying me! You aren't paying me!" Abby says
"You're my daughter cry shut up!" Mom points over to Kenzie as she starts to cry
I look over to Maddie who's also starting to cry
"THEN HOW MANY TIMES HAS MY DAUGHTER BEAT YOUR DAUGHTERS THIS YEAR?!" Christi yells at mom
my eyes widen
i feel tears start to go down my cheeks
"Bite my ass!" Mom says
"Get out of here now!" Mom says to Christi
"Let's go!" Christi shouts
"Bitch" Mom says and walks away
"Let's go!" Christ yells
Mom starts getting Kenzie and her stuff while we get our stuff and Kelly helps us
"Anything your kids feel bad! But it doesn't matter that mine daughter feels bad!" Christ yells
"Your daughter is holding a national title and I will take it away in a minute!" Miss Abby yells
"Go ahead and take it away Abby! I'll leave your studio!" Christi says
That's when we leave the dressing room Kelly hold Kenzies and Maddies hand while I hold Maddies freehand
And mom walking behind us
"No come with me! Girls, they are staying with me!" Mom says to one of the producers
"I'm not going on the fucking bus!" Mom says
"That fucking bitch!" Mom says
"Don't cry" Kelly says to Kenzie
is Christi mad i won?
or is she mad that i beat Chloe?
