It's been about 2 and a half weeks now, you still hadn't woken up. Sanzu would argue with the doctors sometimes, it would always be the same argument. He'd ask why you hadn't woken up yet and the doctor would just tell him it was up to you and that there was nothing they could do. Sanzu had grown impatient, begging you to wake up because he missed you.
The day that Hina was supposed to get married passed already, she didn't have the wedding though. She refused to celebrate a new chapter of her life without you there, Takemichi completely agreed. Hina told you about her old best friend that died, Emma. She said that you would've loved her. She was afraid she'd lose you like she lost Emma.
Everyone that came to visit you would tell you about their day mostly, Mitsuya, Hakkai, and Yuzuha whom you hadn't known for long would tell you more about their lives so you could get to know them better and be more comfortable with them when you wake up.
Kazutora would read to you, he'd read you books that he enjoyed and shared them with you. You loved listening to him tell you stories, he had a nice gentle voice for it and you thought it was sweet of him to do. He'd remind you everyday that Artemis and that cat you left unnamed missed you.
Chifuyu would tell you about stories from when he was in middle school, there were many stories involving him and Takemichi. He even told you about someone he missed, someone he admired greatly who was no longer with him anymore. "Baji would've loved you, I just know it. You two would've been good friends." He would tell you from time to time, although he'd sound sad while talking about him.
Sanzu would sound pretty restless while talking to you, you were worried about him. He'd stay in your hospital room all night just incase you woke up in the middle of the night. He'd talk about your childhoods and bring up memories from it. He reminded you of the times you'd build huge slides every winter to slide down, he even confessed that at one point when you both were little he had the hugest crush on you, he told you he just chose to ignore it until he got over you though.
"Once you wake up, i'll go try and find Mikey some more... I'm more worried about you right now, I need to be here when you wake up." Sanzu sat besides you in his usual spot. He'd play music for you sometimes, it would be the music you both enjoyed together. "Oh! Ran and Rindou wanted to visit you today, finally see what you look like, you know? They caught me texting you that one time so they've been bugging me to see you ever since." He chuckles a bit, his smile then turning into a frown.
"I've been avoiding your friends that come to see you... I don't really want to bother with them but when you wake up, if you want me to meet them then i'll agree just for you." He clears his throat, taking a look at the clock on the wall. "Well, Rin and Ran should be here soon. They won't stay for too long, they're pretty chill so don't worry, for the time being let's listen to some music okay?" He pulls out his phone, playing your favorite song, leaning back in the hospital hair.
He stared up at the ceiling, the music filling his ears. He started to feel his eyes get heavier, he hadn't been sleeping well and anyone could tell based on his new eye bags. He closed his eyes, he was only planning on resting them, but he soon fell asleep with the music still playing on low volume.
Sanzu awoke to knocking on the door, he looked over at you to see if you were by any chance awake, to his dismay you weren't. He sighed, standing up from the chair, rolling his neck around to stretch it out. He opened the door to see Rindou and Ran standing in front of him. "Oh you guys made it, come in." He said nonchalantly, stepping aside for the two men to enter.
The two looked around the plain hospital room, the only decoration being a couple vases filled with flowers and a couple balloons which Kazutora had bought to try and make the room a bit less depressing, it didn't really work but it was the thought that counts. "I hate hospitals, their so damn depressing." Rindou mumbled, Ran instantly nudged him in the arm to which Rindou instantly quieted down.
"Well, here she is." Sanzu spoke tiredly. Rindou and Ran both admired your sleep-like state. "Gotta hand it to you Sanzu, she sure is pretty." Rindou smirked, Sanzu shooting daggers towards him. "Too bad she loves me and not you Rin." Sanzu fired back causing Ran to snicker, Rindou now frowning. "He's right though, she's definitely appealing." Ran now spoke.
Sanzu smiled, looking over at you. He thought you looked so peaceful, he watched the way your chest would slowly rise and fall, he'd often look at it just to make sure you were still breathing. It was sometimes hard for him to decipher whether you were alive or not, you laid there so still. "Yeah, she's insanely beautiful, she has a beautiful personality to match too. Maybe when she's awake you guys can actually meet her." Sanzu spoke softly, his gaze still stuck on you.
The three men talked a bit more until eventually Rindou and Ran left. Once again Sanzu was left with you. In your dream-state, sometimes you'd talk back to Sanzu, even though he couldn't hear you. He was rambling on to you about something, you listened until you heard another voice. It was a females voice, it sounded like it was a nurse.
"Hey, can I get you anything to eat? I've noticed your always in this room and well.... my shift just ended, we could grab something quick to eat?" The young nurse spoke to Sanzu. He looked over at her, his eyes examining her. "No, i'm not hungry." Is all he replied with. She frowned at his response, "Please? You need to be taking better care of yourself... you were just shot too you know?" Sanzu sighed and rubbed his tired eyes, normally he would snap and tell her to get lost, but he didn't want to deal with all of that right now.
"I don't want to leave her, i'm waiting for her to wake up." The young nurse instantly came up with an idea, "I'll go get food for us then! That way you can stay here and watch her and still be able to eat. I'm gonna eat with you to make sure you actually eat." She smiled, walking out of the room before Sanzu could even reject her proposal.
"What a pain." Sanzu groaned, "Hey Y/n, you should wake up to get me out of this situation." He laughed a little. He held your hand in his, his thumb stroking along the side of it. "Hopefully she takes long enough for me to come up with an excuse to not eat with her, it seems rejecting her won't work." He yawns.
You knew it was probably time to wake up, it's been 2 and a half weeks already. You were sort of at peace, but at the same time you were going crazy. You didn't know how to break out of this coma, why'd it all have to be up to you? "C'mon, try Y/n.... we need to get going." You told yourself. You tried your hardest, nothing really working.
"Dammit, concentrate." You weren't really sure what to do, but you just imagined Sanzu. Memories of the both of you flooding your thoughts. Memories with Hina and Kazutora and the others following along too. You missed all of them, you wanted to see them all again. You wanted to see them again so badly, you had the motivation you needed to get out of your coma now, you just needed one final push.
You suddenly thought about Mikey, you were determined to find him, maybe even surprise him of your presence. You weren't sure what Sanzu's plans would be for Mikey, but you knew you had to put an end to things. You wanted revenge. You wanted revenge for what he not only put you through, but for what he put everyone through. He hurt all of your friends, he hurt Sanzu. You had a feeling that if he found out you were alive, he'd try to come after you again.
He seemed to be the determined type who doesn't stop until they get what they want, even if it won't benefit them anymore. This was it, you knew what you'd have to do. You had a new job to do, you weren't sure how you'd go about it.... but it would have to be done.
You'd kill Manjiro Sano before he'd have the chance to try and kill you again this time.
You were right though, Mikey soon found out you were still alive, maybe he'd need to put a bullet to your head next? He guessed that Sanzu had found out, meaning he'd no longer be able to work with Sanzu again. But that didn't matter, he blamed the entire situation on you. If you had died he could've easily played the whole thing off, but now everything was for sure ruined, which is why he was still out for blood.
Everything was coming together, you had your new goal. You basically had the key to it all, so many new factors played a role in your newfound determination.
Your eyes slowly fluttered open, the LED lights slightly blinding you. You moved your free hand up to rub your eyes. Sanzu who was still holding your other hand sat stunned, he didn't know if he was just seeing things at this point. "Hey i'm back-" The young nurse opened the door, her eyes instantly met your now opened e/c eyes, the food trays filled with hospital food almost falling out of her hands. You looked back over to Sanzu who had slightly watery eyes now. You smiled, a slight weight being lifted off your shoulder as you had one obstacle down.
"I'm back, Haru."
