"Remember this time of the year? At Omatsuri village." Kurama raised an eyebrow with a frown.
"That's were you messed up the seal, if I remember correctly" they answered not long after.

Almost a full year ago during his training with the toad sage, the two ninjas stumbled upon a friendly village that hosted a summer festival. They walked around for a few hours, just enjoying the colorful streets lit with lanterns. Every nook and cranny of the village was decorated with beautiful game and food stands, not to mention the numerous gift shops that caught their eyes.
Naruto had looked around for a ramen stand, disappointed when he noticed none around. Jiraiya on the other hand was far more interested in the beautiful women passing by.
After finding an inn, Both of them decided on parting ways. Well it was more like Jiraiya simply ditching him for a night club, but those are some unimportant details.
Naruto went to the inn, tired of the day's activities and deciding to just lay around for a while.

"And then you had the BRILLIANT idea of messing with the damn seal" kurama shrugged their shoulders off with a thoughtful look. Naruto rubbed the back of his neck and grinned sheepishly.
"I don't even know what I was thinking..ha ha" he laughed raising one hand to tug kurama to him.
Kurama hummed softly as naruto pulled them in, not minding when the guy Nuzzled them affectionately.
"But hey, it was for the best right?" The blond whispered, twisting his head to connect their lips in a soft kiss.
"Huh to think, all that happened before led to this..." Kurama mumbled against his lips, seemingly amused. Naruto pulled away and grinned again.
"You absolutely hated me at first!" He laughed, remembering how kurama had almost killed him during the time they spend shortly after the seal got messed up.
"I believe the feeling was mutual" kurama huffed, messing with a strand of their hair.
"No way, I didn't hate yo-" one look from those crimson eyes and naruto quieted down.
"Okay maybe a bit. But like...I couldn't help but like you after a while" naruto's smile turned soft. He pressed them flush against each other and hummed in satisfaction. "Especially seeing that you actually care about me, the day you blew up that cave was surely a changing point between us, wasn't it ?"
Kurama flushed and tried to pull away, naruto's grip tightened.
"I only did what I had to" they huffed, but naruto shook his head with a smug grin.
"You caaaarrreee"
"I don't"
"You're lying~"
"I will not hesitate to kill you"
"You can't! You love me!"
Kurama's eye widened dramatically and in a second they had naruto on the floor.
"Ow- owowow oka_ okay!!! You don't care about me!!" The blond squirmed and surrendered loudly, his tone still playful even under the influence of pain.
Kurama kept their grip tight, one reason being the said playful tone and the other reason being...
"Kurama ?"
"What..."
"...are you blushing~ ?"

Naruto huffed angrily as he couldn't pull any chakra from the ninetail's seal, that bastard fox was being an ass.
Unlike what Jiraiya told him, the fox didn't submit or cave in even after 2 years of chakra training.
It was truly frustrating to think that the demon was probably feeling oh-so smug about it. Naruto grabbed his hair and pulled at it in anger.
"Stupid stupid stupid fox-teme !!!" He yelled loudly, falling flat on his back with a soft thud.
"Just give up already!!!" He turned around to bury his face in the sheets.
He stayed like that for a few moments considering all the ways he could try and get that seal to open, just a bit to pass up chakra when he called upon it.
Destroying the seal was impossible. He couldn't open half of it since kyuubi may try to take over. All naruto needed was a tiny crack to get what he wanted.
It was then that it happened.
His eyes snapped open and he got up to sit straight.
A crack is all he needed

"Oh..kami OF COURSE !!" naruto yelled, jumping from his place in glee.
He could crack a part of the seal, only a tiny part of the power transferring section and BOOM.
He could easily do it, all he needed was some time, a few shadow clones and some ink.
"Suck it up you damn fox asshole"

"Tsk tsk. terrible, absolutely terrible. That was one of, if not the dumbest idea, you ever had"
"I know, I know. It was the seal placements that fucked me over" he laughed in response and kurama sighed.
"It'll be a few days before it's a whole year" he mumbled fondly, locking their fingers together.
"We should celebrate" he flashed a suggestive smirk at his mate. the redhead pushed him away with an eyeroll, albeit a playful one.
"How about we go back to the village hmmm? We can celebrate there when we had our first time." They suggested with a small wink that sent naruto's heart pounding like a drum.
The blond's face heated up, and he grinned widely.
"THAT'S A GREAT IDEA-"
He deflated a second later
"They would never let us tho..."
Kurama watched with amusement as the boy proceeded to curl around on the couch and sulk.
"Yes you can, that's will benefit them by giving them a chance to spy on me so they'll say yes after some pursuing"
They made their way to him and smirked "tell them you want to take me there as an anniversary gift of sort"
Naruto surprised them with another kiss as he hurriedly made his way to the balcony to jump from it.
'Where the hell are you going...?'
'Hokage's office!!'

He fucked up.

Naruto accidentally broke the whole section of the seal with a single idiotic move, a wrong stroke of a brush.
Now that seal leaked red chakra slowly and he couldn't stop it. In fact all he could do is stare is utter horror.
'What have I done-'
The chakra started taking form and he panicked dropping the ink all over the floor.
"Fuck-"
His eyes focused on the black spill for a second before refocused on the forming beast again and he cursed louder.
What should he do ??! He tried to summon one of the toads to call Jiraiya, surely he'll know what to do.
He tried to, but when he looked up it was already too late and a claw barely missed his face by a few millimeters. The blond jumped back on instinct, his eyes Widened even further as the horse sized fox advanced towards him with bared teeth.

Naruto froze when the red chakra started to swarm around the beast like an angry colony of bees.
I'm dead
Naruto moved out the way just as the nine tails leaped at him, avoiding having his head severed form his body. The beast recovered rather fast, one of his tails wrapping around naruto's waist when he wasn't aware and throwing him against the wall forcefully.
The wall cracked and naruto fell to the ground, coughing a bit of blood at the impact.
It wasn't nearly enough to knock his out, but the powerful tail that cough him again and slammed him against the floor repeatedly sure did the job.

Naruto brust into the hokage's office to find her and Sakura speaking in hushed voices.
"Naruto!!" Sakura called out surprised at his entrance.
Tsunade got up from her seat alarmed, only to sit back when she noticed the smiling blonde.
"Naruto...what's the matter? Why are you smiling like that" she asked noticing the way his smile grew mischievous as he entered the office.
Naruto ignored the question and grinned widely at her.
"Oi granny, I want a vacation!!" He announced loudly and both women stared at him with wide eyes.
"...what...?" Sakura mumbled in disbelief.
"A- a vacation?" Tsunade asked shakily. The old women got up abruptly and cast a sharp look at Sakura. "Call Jiraiya and tell him to come here this very instant!" she ordered before making her way to naruto and cheking his temperature.
Naruto watched blankly as Sakura left is a hurry to find the old pervert.
"..huh?"
"Your temperature is a bit higher than usual but not enough to mess with your brain-" Tsunade mumbled getting ready to do a medical check on the blond before he jumped back.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AFFECT MY BRAIN?? IM TOTALLY FINE!!" he yelled pointing an accusing finger at her.
'What the actual-'
'Entertainment at it's finest'
"All I'm asking for a is a vacation for a week! What's wrong with that !?" He asked annoyed at the way Tsunade's eyes Widened again in alarm.
"Why would YOU out of all people ask for a vacation? You never like to take any, so why so suddenly?" She asked crossing her hands over her chest and narrowing her eyes.
Naruto huffed, taking the same pose as her. "I want to take kurama somewhere." He spoke bluntly, bracing himself for the questions he could already hear spilling form her mouth.
The hokage eyes Widened again. she lost her composer for a second, completely caught off guard.
"Wha-" naruto cut her off, his tone changing form annoyance to joy.
"I'm taking them to omatsuri village! That's where we met for the first time and I wanted to take them back there for our one year anniversary !!" He rambled on, excitement taking over his thoughts. He was completely oblivious to the way the woman soaked in every information he let out of his mouth.
"...I..I see" she mumbled after a few seconds of silence.
"Do I get the vacation?" Naruto asked with a hopeful tone and his irresistible puppy dog eyes.
"I need to take Jiraiya's opinion first before making any decisions." Tsunade spoke firmly, gaining her composure back and turning around to walk back to her seat.
Naruto pouted and huffed again.
"Come oooonnnnn" he whined loudly.
"Wait for Jiraiya you br-"
Just at that moment a white haired man burst through the office's window with a frantic look.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO NARUTO !?"
Kurama laughed loudly in his mind, and naruto couldn't help the exasperated sigh that left him.

The next time he opened his eyes, naruto saw a dark room illuminated by the moon.
He got up, groaning in pain as he felt his chakra working to repair the damaged bones and teared muscles.
Except, he felt no broken bones when he moved. His muscles also felt mostly fine.
"H-how.." He mumbled softly to himself, he should be surprised he's still alive let alone in a semi-good shape with nothing but a few scratches.
"I healed your most critical wounds" a smooth voice spoke from his side and naruto jumped back to glare at the new comer only to stare in shock as familiar crimson eyes narrowed at him in warning.
'Do something stupid, I dare you' those eyes seemed to tell him. shrouded in darkness, he can only guess it belonged to the ninetails.
"Why didn't you kill me!?" Was the first thing that left naruto's mouth when he felt his back against the wall.
The eyes narrowed further before the voice spoke again with no emotion.
"If I kill you, I kill myself temporarily. And the rebirth cycle isn't something I'm very fond of" they explained and naruto found himself silent.
The ninetails can't kill him.
This info changes the rules of the game to naruto's benefit.
With the new found courage, the blond took a step forward and the eyes followed his movement in amusement.
"Oh I bet this little information gave you some courage, didn't it ?" They laughed lowly. Sinister and cold. Naruto narrowed his eyes at them and took another wary step.
Killer intent filled the room.
The tension rose up and naruto found it hard to swallow.
"You-"
a firework shot up in the sky and exploded, illuminating the room and naruto's eyes went wide and he stopped mid sentence.
That wasn't a fox on the bed.
They smirked with teeth too sharp for a normal human, eyes glinting in twisted malice.
Naruto found himself gasping for air. And the reason was unclear

They ended up agreeing on something.
Naruto could go, BUT only if a team leaves with him as means to 'guard him and his lover'.
'Guard' his ass. He already knew why they were sending lord-knows-who with him.
To fucking spy on them.
Well there goes his merry mood.
Naruto angrily shoved all his belongings in a seal and mumbled under his breath. Kurama on the other hand had excused themself to do something before leaving.
The blonde didn't mind, especially when they returned after an hour with a satisfied smirk.
"What did you do?" Naruto asked, playfully nudging them. The demon looked up at him with innocently. "Who, me? I didn't do anything" they faked a confused tone, dodging naruto's attempted hug.
"Come on! We both know you did something" naruto laughed, his sour mood slowly dispersing.
"Well...if you're so insistent on knowing" they started "I may or may not have found out which team was assigned to us and made a mess for them to clean up, as well as a few other teams" they finished with a shrug and naruto faked an angry sigh.
"Kuurrraaammmaaa" he whined playfully and went for another hug.
"It appears that they were sending anbu with us, too bad they're not available anymore"
"Mmmm who are they going to send us with now?"
"Hopefully one of your 'friends', cause I would love to meet them"
"Huh?"
"I'm being sarcastic"
Naruto grinned, tightening his grip around the redhead, he mumbled softly but firmly
"You better be"

They had managed to form something of a ceasefire and naruto insisted to look for Jiraiya to inspect the seal.
Naruto managed to make them agree on coming with him since he doesn't know what the demon in human skin could do.
They got plenty of looks while walking, naruto wasn't used to it being other than hate filled unlike these. These were ones of awe and just general checking them out.
He glanced to the side with a nervous look. the kyuubi flashed a few smiles here and there and the blonde couldn't help but feel a ping of horror
'If it could blend in so easily...'
"I can hear your thoughts you imbecile" kyuubi whispered with a sly smirk and naruto almost jumped.
"Stop it you asshole- its weird" he hissed back, throwing his arms behind his head and relaxing his composer.
"Mmmm says the one with a giant force of absolute destruction inside his stomach" they countered without messing a beat.
"Yeah!? Well you-" he cut himself off when he noticed that they neared the night club Jiraiya said he'll be in.
"Ugh...such a dirty place, no wonder that old pervert will be here" they whispered in disgust and naruto decided to bite his tongue instead of starting an argument.
They entered and naruto spotted his sensei already half passed out with a bunch of ladies surrounding him.
Naruto sighed in disappointment knowing the man wouldn't be able to help him now, and the kyuubi wrinkled their nose in distaste.
"Well...it seems this gotta wait-"
"Why hello there beautiful, Would you like a drink?" A voice spoke interrupting the fox.
Naruto turned around to stare in shock as a wealthy looking older man approached the demon in disguise and offered a hand to them. Behind him was a table full of others like him, they all looked absolutely disgusting and naruto couldn't help but feel bad for the kyuubi and seriously worried.
They wouldn't kill somebody in front of all these people right? Naruto frowned. What's stopping them from killing all these people.
On the other hand kyuubi just smiled.
"I appreciate your offer kind sir, although I'm afraid that I'll have to refuse" naruto's eyes went wide.
Where the hell did that come from!?
The man looked disappointed "oh? And why is that?" He asked, casting a glance over to his friends.
It was then that the kyuubi proceeded to do the unexpected. And naruto didn't know what to make out of it.
"My dear partner and I are here on a date" they said, taking naruto's hand in theirs and intertwining their fingers with the sweetest smile.
'What the-'
'Just play along, why don't you?'
"U-um yeah- we were just passing by and decided to come for a drink" naruto blurted out with a nervous grin, rubbing the back oh his neck
"Oh...I see i see, well then I shall leave you to it" the man spoke before casting a smirk at the redhead.
"If you ever get tired of him, our table is right here" he said and naruto felt wronged. He scowled at the man.
"Hey! What do you mean-" the man ignored him and went back to sit with his friends.

"That was the first time I took you on a date, right ?"
"It wasn't really a date"
The two laughed at the memory, that was the first time they went somewhere together. And probably the starting point of this entire thing.
"That man was so damn rude!" He growled loudly, throwing his arms in the air. That guy was rude and if naruto saw him again....well let's just say that it won't be pretty.
"Even when I wasn't with you, I was still really offended." He said again, with a dangerous laugh. "Oh dear, imagine if we catch him again! I'm gonna have a Field day with that" he laughed loudly and kurama couldn't help the small smile that appeared. "Dear lord, being possessive now huh ?" They snickered loudly, pressing themself against naruto's back with a purr.
"I like it" naruto hummed in response.
"Oh! it's almost time to go" naruto pointed out with a grin and the demon nodded.
Kurama disappeared in a swirl of flames and naruto followed suit.
"I should've had you teach me that sooner" the blonde laughed, and threw one arm around them as they walked down the village. The villagers stopped to stare in both hate and confusion.
Whispers started to get louder and louder and naruto did his best to ignore them. Kurama reached one hand to grasp naruto's hand that was on their shoulder.
'I have an idea, move your hand' naruto glanced at him with confusion. 'Down to my waist' naruto's mouth took an O shape for a second before he let his hand drop down to grasp kurama's waist in a protective hold and the whispers kicked up a few notches.
Finally arriving at the gates, naruto breathed in through his nose.
He could not fathom the intensity of the hate he felt toward everyone who was participant in this 'mission'.
"Ahh...its the old pervert" kurama mumbled, clearly dissatisfied.
"And team 10 ....of course..." Naruto sounded just as dissatisfied if not more.
'I mean- fucking of course. Who's better than figuring out a spy other than a Nara and a mind reader.'
'And the big guy? What's his job?'
Naruto shrugged, his grip growing possessive as the other nins started noticing them.
Ino was the first to react, jumping over choji to get a better look at the redhead.
Jiraiya's eyes widened upon seeing them before he narrowed them in suspicion.
"I'm just going to a nearby village- do I really need all of you to come with me ?" Naruto asked nearing them with an upset pout.
Jiraiya looked at him and changed his expression to one of happiness. "Of course ! Nothing is more important than your and you're partner's safety, am I right ?" He laughed loudly and everyone sweat-dropped.
The Nara who was too busy leaning against the gates, straightened up and sighed."the danger tend to follow you around naruto, it's such a drag" he mumbled lazily, nearing the couple.
"So this who the fuss is all about ? Huh..." He whispered lowly to himself, it went by unheard by everyone other than the redhead themself.
"Fuss, you say ?" Kurama asked with a surprised expression, instantly turning to stare at naruto in confusion.
"Its nothing dear, don't worry about it"
A few eyes Widened at the nickname. Only one made their surprise clear.
"DEAR!? oh my kami-" ino whisper-yelled to herself.
Kurama looked even more confused and naruto looked ready to snap someone's neck in two.

"o-oh !! Yeah hahahaha yeah- I kn- I know that kid, HEY GIVE THE KID AND HIS FRIEND A DRINK ON ME!!"
Naruto was currently sitting down and having a drink with a walking breathing talking natural disaster with the power to wipe half of the world without breaking a sweat.
And the power of attracting a bunch of wandering eyes and flirty gestures.
"There you two go" the bartender said, clearly dead inside. Not even batting an eye at how young they both looked.
"Hmmm" the demon took their glass and sipped the alcohol without much care. naruto stared in horror.
"What is it ?" They asked without sparing him a glance, too busy brushing off another offer to dance.
"I...are you really drinking ..?" Naruto asked slowly, can't process having to deal with a drunk tailed beast. They will destroy everything in their wake!!
"Quit panicking" kyuubi ordered, amusement laced in their voice. "My chakra treat alcohol as poison, by burning it. So if you're worried, know that I cannot get drunk" the demon sighed, disappointed "back in my days, I knew a certain village . they used to make sake extremely strong, enough to get some of us wasted, not me of course but I loved how it made me dizzy" the beast ranted, looking at their still mostly full cup.
"Y..you used to drink?" Naruto couldn't help but ask. "with the other tailed beasts ?" He couldn't mask the disbelief in his voice, suddenly the fear he had vanished and he leaned in close.
"You guys went and got wasted!?'' He whisper-yelled with an amazed expression. The kyuubi took another sip of their drink and sighed, an expression of nostalgia taking over their face.
"getting 'wasted' as you put it, is not the only thing we did"
"Tell me?" naruto asked stealing a glance back at his sensei.
The kyuubi went quiet for a moment before speaking again.
And that's how they spent the night until naruto has to drag Jiraiya back to the inn.
Naruto ended up not telling him about that night, or the seal, or the kyuubi.
Maybe the beast wasn't so bad after all.

Questions, lots and lots of questions is what naruto had expected.
And surprisingly...not so surprisingly actually, that's exactly what he and kurama received.
Ino had asked for information after other and naruto was so close! This close to shutting her up for ever!
The kunoichi was clearly doing it for two reasons : informations for the hokage and gossip.
'Well good lord, isn't she annoying?' Kurama mentally growled, keeping their face calm and collected trough out the entire ordeal.
'I wish she could swallow her own hair and shock-' naruto thought randomly and kurama had to hold in a snicker, instead opting to cling a bit more to the blonde.
"Wow- I never though anybody would date naruto- I mean, well I DO know a person who would but like, why? No offense naruto." Nature took great offense in that "tell me, what did you see in him when you two met?"
Now this...is actually a good question that even naruto wanted to know the answer to, And it appears he's not the only interested in knowing.
The Nara who pretended to not listen to their entire talk, moves his head slightly to stare back at the redhead who seemed unbothered by the sudden question.
'If all of this is an act, then they're doing a great job'
"Well you see, I felt drawn to him...he felt so too. So he took me for a drink and was really sweet company, I honestly enjoyed my time with him. And after that we just hit it off. Being around him feels like a nice sunny day spent by the river." they explained with a shrug and naruto's face grew warm before kurama smirked and added in a hushed voice "and his looks and stamina are a huge plus"
May kami have mercy on his soul cause naruto's pants suddenly got tighter.
Jiraiya shared a look with asuma. The team leader gave him a unsure look and Jiraiya nodded with a frown.
Shikamaru narrowed his eyes at the interaction between the two, looking for any signs of insincerity.
Choji and ino regarded their teammate to assess his reaction.
"Now.." Kurama suddenly smiled darkly surprising everyone.
"Who is this 'person' that would 'date' naruto, yamanka-san?"
Screw being with a team, there is some silencing seals in his storage one. They're definitely not sleeping tonight.

Its been a month and some time since the seal broke, naruto still kept it a secret.
Kyuubi and him grew closer, and something was starting to build in his stomach whenever the mischievous redhead was around.
Would you believe that they shared some actual interests ? Mostly pranks and stories about others.
The kyuubi spoke about the sage of six path with the enthusiasm of a child boasting about their father. Naruto spoke all about his adventures with Jiraiya even when the kyuubi passively pointed out that they were there most of the time.
Naruto found that they weren't half as bad as he had imagined. While yes, he found out that some stories that he heard were nothing but fabrication of the minds of a bunch of paranoid lunatics, he was pretty terrified when the fox easily admitted to killing thousands upon thousands of people for reasons they deemed Appropriate.
Looking past that, they were pretty good company.
And naruto's stomach felt weird.
"So I'm going out now, I'll be out till tomorrow evening_"
"EVENING!? where you even going you ero-senin !?" The blonde interrogated the toad sage who sweat-dropped and held his hands in silent surrender.
"I'm a writer naruto! I need space, time and res-"
Naruto cut him off annoyed "research material ya ya ya- heard it all before ! You just disappear for a few days and then come back beaten up by a bunch of angry women" naruto rolled his eyes, then dropped down on his bed. "I don't care anymore, I'd you want to get killed by a hoard of angry naked women just go ahead I won't stop you"
And they left it at that, Jiraiya left to find some research material and naruto was left waiting for a certain red-eyed demon to show up.
Speaking of the demon. The blonde turned to face the window and sighed with a troubled expression.
'Where are you ?'
"Right beside you"
Naruto didn't need to look behind him to see the red eyes staring at him. He took a deep breath and turned around to meet the crimson gaze.
"Hey"
"Good to see you again"
They stayed relatively quiet after the greetings. Only the sounds of naruto's breath and the white noise of the bustling town in the background filled the room.
"He left you again?"
Naruto nodded with a shrug."he does it all the time, nothing out of ordinary"
"Peeping on women, again? Shameful" the demon rolled their eyes and naruto laughed.
They quieted down again and naruto's stomach twisted in discomfort and excitement when the kyuubi reached one finger to drag it on his birth marks. The blonde's eyes glazed over as he reached his hand to caress the other's face.
"What do you want to do...?"
"I personally have Nothing in mind, any suggestions?"
Neither one ceased their movement and naruto found it hard to breath correctly.
'What's the worse that could happen if he just said...'
"Whatever it is on your mind, just spill it" they whispered moving closer.
"I can smell your lust"
This all it took to make naruto act up.
A feverish kiss. Two and more. the clothes were soon discarded, just a pile on the floor as the two teens enjoyed themselves to the fullest.
"My name's kurama" the demon lowly whispered in his ear before naruto could go in.
"Kurama.." Naruto stopped and pulled to stare at them, whispering softly to himself. He smiled, going down to connect their lips.
"I like it"

When they got to the village, naruto and kurama instantly ditched everyone.

"How did they know we're here ?" Choji asked, directing the question at his sensei.
Asuma glared at the retreating figures in suspicion.

'I see...' It seems they're not the only ones who know about the missions goal after all.

They made it to the inn. Finally, naruto didn't know how longer he could wait.
They vanished in the flames, reappearing in their room. Instantly naruto discarded his jacket and shirt while kurama took their time with removing their clothes.

He smirked and kurama mirrored his expression.
