SNAPSHOT/SUMMARY
Wilbur Moss "Wil" is a fourteen-going-on-fifteen year old kid who lives in South Sydney, NSW, Australia in the early 1900s. He had a relatively normal life with a working-class family, with eleven-going-on-twelve year old brother Theodore (Or commonly referred as "Teo"), sixteen-going-on-seventeen year old brother Daniel, loving parents Henry and Hannah and 2 family dogs Ruby (Female Australian Shepherd) and Spark (Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever).
All was La-la-happy-days until 4 August 1914 when Britain officially declared war on Germany. Henry and family friend Mark would go on to successfully enlist in the war followed by Wil's cousin Hamish, Wil's older brother Dan who turned 18 in February 1915 and eventually Wil himself when he turned 18 in November of 1917. This story *Ahem* "Takes you behind the scenes in Australia at the time of WWI while also taking you into the war itself, through each kilometer of trench, through each activity, through each battle"
This story is told through first person perspective , mainly Wi's and Henry's.
CREDITS AND INSPIRATION
the entire idea and concept for this story actually comes from a history project I had to complete in school where I had to literally craft a scrapbook posing as a 14-15 year old living through the early 1900s along side WWI. And although I'm extremely doubtful that I'll pass it (I missed out on a lot of work and actually restarted the scrapbook last week :/) it did however form a large story that I worked hard on - this story.
I'll also have to give credit to S.E. Hinton's amazing book The Outsiders for inspiration for this story and for even helping me include elements in my writing that make my writing less like it's from a picture book and more from an actual graphic novel, which is the main set up for this book.
