Present Day
Severide and Casey were sitting in rec room eating lunch. The morning had been all simple calls and no one had died. Kelly kept looking at his phone hoping Lily would text him but she never did. Severide was feeling like he was losing Lily.
Casey watched as his best friend picked at his food and was lost in thought. "Call her."
"What?" Severide looked at his best friend confused.
"Make the first move. Call her. She's broken Kelly. She needs help putting herself back together."
"Don't you think I've tried? She just shuts me out. She will barely do anything."
Casey saw the defeat in Severide's eyes. "May..."
Brett suddenly comes stomping into the rec room all pissed off. "What the hell are they teaching these new EMTs?!" Brett threw herself down onto the couch.
"Another one bites the dust?" Cruz teased her as she was having no luck finding a new partner since Gabby moved to truck.
"She almost killed a patient because she grabbed the wrong medication!" Suddenly a light bulb went off in Brett's head. She sat up and looked over at Kelly. "Hey isn't Lily EMT trained?"
"Not gonna happen Brett." As much as Kelly would love for Lily to take the job he knew she wouldn't. Not with the state she was in right now.
"Just ask her please?" Brett stuck out her bottom lip and was giving Severide puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh fine as long as you stop making that face."
"Thanks Severide!" Brett jumped to her feet and headed out to do inventory.
"Don't thank me yet!" Severide yelled after her.
"Have fun with that conversation." Matt said while smirking.
"Shut up Casey." Severide rose to his feet, throwing his lunch away before heading to his quarters to do paperwork.
Severide had been in his office maybe 30 minutes when someone was knocking at his door. He looked over to see Gabby standing on the other side. He motioned for her to enter. "What can I do for you Dawson?"
"I have an idea to maybe get Lily out of this funk. And start to move forward."
Kelly put down his pen and focused all of his attention on what Dawson was saying. "Whatcha thinking?"
"Maybe the girl she work with in Italy could come and talk some sense into her. She's probably done it before when Lily first got to Italy."
Kelly looked at Dawson in amazement. He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of it before. "I could kiss you Dawson."
"A thank you will do just fine. Plus Matt might punch you." They both chuckled. "Call her."
"I will."
Dawson left Kelly's office closing the door behind her. Kelly fished his phone out of his pants pocket and then looked for Marisol's number. He tapped the call button and then raised the phone to his ear.
"Hello?" Marisol sounded as if she was sleeping.
Kelly had completely forgotten about the time change. "Oh shit. Sorry Marisol forgot about the time change."
Marisol looked at her phone to see Kelly Severide's name on her screen. "Is Lily okay?" She knew Kelly would never call her unless something was wrong with Lily.
"Uh... no. Not really." Kelly could hear some shuffling going on in the background.
"What happened?" Marisol had started gathering items from around her room to throw in a bag.
"Uh I don't know if she told you but Connor died in an explosion a few months back."
Marisol stopped what was doing and just stood still. She knew how much Connor meant to Lily. "I'll be on the next flight to Chicago."
"You don't have too."
"Look here Kelly, Lily is like the sister I never had. We have been there for each other no matter what over the past three years. I'm coming to Chicago." Marisol began to quickly throw more items into her bag, trying to hurry.
"Thank you. Come to the firehouse when you get here."
"Text me the address. I'm heading for the airport now."
"I will."
"See you soon Kelly."
"See you soon." Kelly ended the phone call and slumped back into his chair. He was hoping that this was a good idea and maybe Marisol could truly help.
Ambulance 61 Truck 81 Squad 3 possible drowning.
Kelly headed for squad 3 trying not to think about Lily but it was hard. She had become his whole world and he needed her to be okay.

End of Shift
Cruz, Capp, and Tony were placing items back into squad 3 when a taxi had dropped some girl off. She walked up the driveway with a bag rolling behind her. The men all stared at her.
"Can we help you?"
"Yes. I'm looking for Kelly Severide."
Of course she was is what the three men were thinking. "Follow me I'll take you to him." Cruz led the women into the firehouse and found Severide and Casey standing in the kitchen talking over coffee.
"Lieutenant this women was looking for you."
Kelly looked over to see Marisol standing behind Cruz. "Oh thank god." Kelly walked over to her and embraced her in a hug. Everyone in the room exchanged a look of wondering who this women was.
"That flight took forever."
"I remember. Thank you so much for coming." Kelly was filled with hope again. Maybe she could get Lily to live again. Get her to heal.
"Like I said on the phone. She's my sister. I'm always going to come when she needs me."
Kelly smiled and then looked around the room as everyone had came in to see who this girl was. "Guys this is Marisol. She was Lily's partner on ambo in Italy."
Suddenly a light bulb went off in everyone's head. Now they understood. Cruz realized he might actually have a chance with this girl now.
"I'm Joe Cruz. I'm on rescue squad with Severide."
"Charmed." Marisol shook Cruz's outreached hand. Kelly couldn't help but roll his eyes at how Cruz was acting.
"Cruz you don't have a chance in hell." Kelly couldn't help but laugh at his facial expression. "She's gay."
Marisol was laughing a little. "Sorry Cruz but if I was the littlest bit straight you might of had a chance." She winked at him
Everyone else came up and introduced themselves to Marisol. She was happy to finally meet the people Lily always talked about. But she knew she need to go see her.
"Kelly can we go check on Lily?"
"Sure thing. Let me change and grab my bag and we can head out." Kelly went to head out of the room but then stopped "Hermann, Cindy and you don't mind watching Victoria a bit longer?"
"Are you kidding? Cindy loves that little girl. Take all the time you need. Just bring Lily back."
"That's my plan. Thanks Hermann." Kelly jogged off down the hall to go to the locker room.
Maybe today was the day. The day Lily could start to move forward.
