The carriage rode along a thin path, a horse steadily pulling it. Myne stretched out her arms, letting out a small tired yawn. "So, do you have any plans for this assassination or do you plan to just run at him hoping he doesn't have enough time to react?" Myne asked, getting a little snarky with the spear hero. Though, everyone knew that her getting offensive ever rarely happened to the public eye, since she needed him for her little tests. And simply to make her duties easier.

Motoyasu hummed, thinking for a moment. "I haven't really thought of that," Motoyasu mumbled, placing a hand on his chin. He grumbled, getting deep into thought wondering what kind of method he should use to kill the beast. He narrowed his eyes, aware that he wasn't going to assassinate the sinner without making him feel real pain beforehand.

Myne stared at him, a little annoyed that he was taking so much thought into it. She just wanted to see the shield hero die, so she needed it to be quick. She had been told that she only had a few moments after Motoyasu stopped the carriage that she could stay and observe. But back at the castle she needed to defend her upcoming country and help out with her princess duties. She mumbled, really wishing that she didn't have those. Mainly since it reminded her that she wasn't in full power since she wasn't the Queen, although, all of this was her potential way of becoming the next queen instead of her sorry of an excuse sister Melty.

"Ok. I think I'll watch from afar for a bit, examining what he's doing so I can make a better stealth attack and get around the area easier! I'll then wait until he's alone since I assume he'll have Raphtalia and dear Filo with him, so I'll attack him from behind and make sure his last moments are as painful as ever," Motoyasu claimed,  snapping his fingers as he explained the idea to Myne. Motoyasu felt a warmth from his heart, remembering dear ol' Filo that he adored like so. He wanted to protect her, and guide her through her steps. He frowned, knowing the devil of the shield had placed a curse on her, and would not let her free until he's had his share.

"Ok...But that'll take a while! Sure we want strategy, but we also want something quick! Also, people won't notice!" Myne chuckled awkwardly, feeling a burning feeling in her chest not getting what she wanted. Part of her wanted to scold the spear hero for having such a long plan, but part of her also knew it was effective and would probably kill the hero without too much effort. Myne crossed her arms, annoyed. She furrowed her eyebrows, glaring at the young blond before her.

"I think my plan will work! After all, Raphtalia is our only obstacle really since she's so torn up in Naofumi's brainwashing that she's willing to sacrifice herself for him," Motoyasu sneered, wanting to throw up at her actions. Motoyasu lowered his head, shameful that he hasn't been able to save those two dear women yet. Raphtalia and Filo were too caught up in the brainwashing shield that they weren't even aware of their own presence anymore, it destroyed Motoyasu just thinking of such antics.

"Just kill the filthy demi-human too if you have to! You're the spear hero, I'm sure you can beat some whore raised by a devil," Myne sighed, rolling her eyes. She wondered how long it would take to possibly even convince Motoyasu, knowing how stuck forward he was on this idea. Myne couldn't help but grow tense, knowing she'd most likely have to leave before Motoyasu even got near the demon.

Motoyasu snarled, personally growing offended by the rude remarks Myne was making. Sure Motoyasu felt the need to protect Myne with all his heart, but the one he loved dearest was also on that team. And Motoyasu remembered the time before Filo where he craved to protect the demi-human, and cherish her for all the suffering she would've had to push through. "She is not a whore to start. And I am not going to kill her even if she is trying to engage in battle with me. I will try and save her, end of story."

Myne growled, looking off to the side in irritation. "Ok, fine you can proceed with your plan. But, if anything goes wrong, don't say I didn't try and help," Myne sighed, slumping back in the seat. Myne hated it when she couldn't do things the way she wanted, it made her feel misplaced and that no one could ever satisfy her. But, everyone around her just thought she was acting strange or was just in a bad mood.

Motoyasu smirked, about ready to save the two girls. "I will try my best to make it succeed."

The two reached a small town just outside of Melromarc, staying higher up in the cliffs. "Alright, this will due," Motoyasu ordered, not wanting to get too far up the mountain. Myne sneered, not wanting to go back already. But, she had to follow the spear hero's orders. She threw on a smile and clapped her hands with glee.

"Alright, sir Motoyasu! Though I must ask, why the mountains?" Myne asked. She stood up, brushing off her skirt for any dirt or grime she didn't want on her. Motoyasu followed her lead standing up, and they both hopped out of the carriage.

"Well I know you have to leave soon enough, but we can get a better view from up here. It is right up against the village and the village isn't all too big to start with...But I did hear some people say yesterday that he was staying here for a bit," Motoyasu explained, walking towards the edge. He looked down at the view, smiling at how nice the village looked.

All the homes were more modern, made of wood, glass and some with a bit of stone. Flowers and rivers surrounded the area, making it more lively and comfy. Shops scattered the area, attracting many people over to buy things. But Motoyasu especially liked the culture there, as everyone seemed very peaceful and kind to one another. Motoyasu had to admit, where he usually stayed, there were a lot of scrawny, grumpy-looking people.

Motoyasu last his eyes wander around the people, looking for a male in a green cape, a small blonde and an orange-haired girl. Motoyasu grumbled, slowly turning his head across the people. Myne watched Motoyasu, not bothering to help him find the male. Myne looked down at her fingernails, wondering if she should get them re-polished.

Motoyasu spotted them near a large water fountain near the centre of the town. Motoyasu narrowed his eyebrows, proud that he had spotted them in such limited time. He turned to Myne and placed a hand steadily on her shoulder. He looked into her bright green eyes, passion filling his own. Myne held back a comment, wondering why he was so excited if it wasn't a very big task.

"I spotted them! They're by the fountain in the distance," Motoyasu proudly stated, planting his hands on his side. Myne glared at him, serious questioning how he was proud and acted so touched by such small measures. But, like always, Myne played along. She wrapped her arm around Motoyasu's arm, resting her head on Motoyasu's shoulder.

"I see them, good job sir Motoyasu!" Myne chuckled. Myne smirked, glaring at the raven. "Now, we can free the people of Melromarc."

"We sure can." Motoyasu agreed, growing serious once again. Motoyasu watched Naofumi's green cape flow in the wind, watching the young boy pat Raphtalia on top of the head. The girl quickly grew excited, and her tail wagged. Filo then stuck herself to Naofumi's leg, and Motoyasu could only imagine that she wanted him to pet her head just like he did Raphtalia. Motoyasu shook his head, truly wishing Naofumi would take that unforgivable hex off of the girls.

"I seriously hate the way he treats them. They are nothing but slaves to him and all he does is take them for granted," Motoyasu scoffed. Myne let out a small sigh, and Motoyasu looked at her, half confused.

"Well, Sir Motoyasu...I'm going to have to go back to the castle now, I'm sorry. I'll send a carriage over in a few hours to come to get you, stay safe!" Myne apologized, planting a gentle kiss on Motoyasu's cheek. The blond could feel his body grow hot quicker than a wildfire as Myne kissed him, not expecting such a reaction.

Motoyasu nervously chuckled, "Y-yeah! You stay safe too, Myne."

"I will, thank you. See you later, Motoyasu," Myne waved, taking her place back on the carriage. The horse let out a small sound and worked its way around. Myne growled, clenching her hands into tight fists. She wanted to stay and watch badly, watching as the true villain would stay alive, and some pawn in her game would die. Myne stomped her foot in aggression, causing a fuss for no one to inspect.

Motoyasu looked back at the male, watching him sit down on the stone surface keeping the water in place. He handed some money to Raphtalia and began talking to her. Filo walked beside Raphtalia, her small little wings flapping happily. The two girls walked off, excited, leaving the shield hero alone. Motoyasu assumed he had asked them to go buy him something. Motoyasu sneered, knowing that the shield hero now also asked them to do all the shopping. Motoyasu wouldn't have been surprised if he lays back and does nothing while they did all the work. Motoyasu felt disgusted, not understanding how people could do such a thing.

Motoyasu took a deep breath, taking this as his chance. He went down the mountain, keeping a steady pace so he didn't lose balance and fall. He knew it could either lead to serious injury, or even death. And he would be ashamed of getting injured in such stupid circumstances.

He reached the ground before long and began running. Motoyasu felt uneasy and anxious as everyone looked at him, stared at him as if he had done something wrong. He shook his head ignoring their strange behaviour and followed the streets that lead to the middle. Or that he thought led to the middle.

Before long, Motoyasu looked at Naofumi through an alleyway. He was from the same angle as he had been from the mountain, just closer than before. Rage and anger still darted through his veins, waiting to explode and strangle the male to death. Motoyasu stayed in the shadows, not wanting to risk it quite yet. Motoyasu's expression quickly changed to a more concerned look, watching the male lean forward.

Naofumi rested his head on his hands, allowing salty tears to roll down his face. Naofumi's face appeared so thin and lifeless as if he were already dead. Eye bags were present under his eyes, and they were quite visible even from afar. Motoyasu swallowed nervously, wondering if Naofumi was getting enough sleep, enough food, and was even able to support himself mentally.

Naofumi ran his fingers through his hair, and Motoyasu only now noticed how shaky he was. Motoyasu caught on quickly and felt bad for the male. Motoyasu pieced it all together and wondered if his assumption was correct.

Naofumi gave Raphtalia and Filo some money to go shopping since he was on the verge of having an anxiety attack. He chose a spot that wasn't filled with people and thought it was good enough. He could hear the male sniffling and trying to catch his breath as he sobbed.

Motoyasu lowered his head, not feeling the same vengeance he did before. Motoyasu stood up and slowly walked away. He couldn't help but look back at the male a few times, seeing how bad of a state he was in.

Motoyasu grew conflicted now. He knew he was supposed to assassinate Naofumi for all the bad he has done. Motoyasu hated him for all the sins he had committed, but part of him wanted to go hug the male. Sooth him until he calmed himself until he returned to a normal state where he could function. Motoyasu shook this thought from his head but knew there would be no assassinating at the moment. Even if it was an easier time to just slit his throat and end his life.
