Putting on shades to quiet restless eyes,
tone down a dull day's stoup of warm tureen,
suiting the sup of bees and butterflies;
though drab birds doze within deep walls of green.
Weightier apples tug down at each bough
to shape the autumn / winter skeleton:
when bud-twigs antler upwards anyhow,
that lancing light must undulations run.
A ruffle's intermittent in the leaves,
and thistledown drifts slowly on strange trails;
dream intermits: rain patters on my sleeves,
ceases in seconds; sunlight gleams and fails.
Suspended animation seems so kind,
in semi-somnolence dissolving mind.

It's another descriptive sonnet, of course, whether of flag, wind or mind.
