Tsukishima and I walk through Ukai's store. We place items in our respective baskets every now and then. Periods suck and I get it next week so I'm stocking up on some things. Tsukishima needed to get some groceries.
"I'm so pumped for tomorrows match." I comment, throwing in some candy to my basket. Pre-game excitement pumping through my body. "Aren't you?" I ask and Tsukishima hums and shrugs his shoulders. Tsukishima and his shrugging.
"I guess. But I'm jut hoping to block a few of Ushiwaka's spikes." Tsukishima says. That answer shocks me a bit. He has a goal.
I turn to him and smile.
"Don't hope, just do it." I say as we continue to walk.
"Okay then. I'll do it."
"Good."
"Hey Y/n. You love volleyball too, right? Not just managing it?" Tsukishima asks and I pause thinking about the question.
"I love volleyball because I can manage it. If I didn't, I probably wouldn't be as interested. But because I can help people I care about, I really do love volleyball. If I didn't become a manager, who knows if we would be as close as we are now?" I comment.
We move on to the feminine hygiene products and I start tossing in some pads/tampons. Tsukishima throwing in a box as well.
"My Mom. I looked in the bathroom and there was no more." He states plainly and I smile at him.
"Mama's boy - Tsukishima Kei." I smile at him at elbow him slightly.
"Yeah whatever." He grumbles and I laugh.
"I'm just saying! When I get a boyfriend, I hope he's as sweet as you. I'll say it again. Girls like boys who are sweet to their mother." I state. Tsukishima looks to the side nervously and scoffs.
"Let's just go pay." He says.
We walk to the counter and wave at Coach.
"Hey you two." Coach greets, scanning my stuff first. I pay and say my thanks and he moves onto Tsukishima.
"You two better head home. We've gotta big game tomorrow." Coach advices, waving his feather duster around and about. "Glasses make sure she gets home safely."
"Yes sir." Tsukishima sighs and I laugh.
"Bye Coach! Have a nice night."
"Good night you two." He smiles and we as we exit.
As we walk the cars rush past us. The wind blowing at my skirt as they drive by. Tsukishima moves me to the inside of the sidewalk so he's closer to the incoming traffic. He doesn't say anything, just looks forward.
This boy. Tsukishima Kei is something else.
