Alexei scoffs at us and I frowned at him, "You cannot kill a fox that swift." He said glancing between with this tone in his voice making me grimace at him. "Ew." Nat said with a disgusted face as I agreed with her.
"What?" He asked absolutely clueless as to why we were disgusted and I shook my head, looking away from him. "She was the scientist, the strategist. I was the muscle." He explained as I nodded as to getting where I wanted us to finally get to.
"She worked directly for Dreykov far more than I ever did." He said loudly as I looked at Yelena. "Wait. Are you telling me that Melina is working for the Red Room present day?" Nat asked nodding her head towards Alexei.
"She works remotely outside St. Petersburg." He explained as I looked down to see how much fuel we have. I laughed, "Uh..." I began, "I don't think we have enough fuel for St. Petersburg." I said looking at Yelena and down at the fuel percentage.
"No, we're good." He said shaking his head, "We'll make it." Alexei waved it off and Yelena scoffed at Alexei, "Okay." Yelena said shaking her head and I smirked at Yelena. We flew a couple more miles towards St. Petersburg.
The helicopter started making weird noises then the alarm went off. "What is happening?" Alexei shouted from the back as I huffed, "I told you that wouldn't make it." I said monotone, I looked back at him and the helicopter began to fall.
I grunted, hearing them shout as the helicopter met the ground roughly. "We made it!" I shouted taking off the headphones and looked at Yelena smiling. Nat opened the door and stepped out, Yelena following after her. I walked out, looking at the brushes and trees around us.
I spot Nat squat down, and I looked at the smoke coming out of the helicopter and around us. "You two should've brought the Avengers' superjet." Alexei said looking at us as I huffed, rolling my eyes at this man.
Nat got up as we began walking away from the helicopter, walking side by side. "I swear, if I hear one more word from him, I will kick him in the face." Yelena threatened as I nodded agreeing with her, "I second that." I said as Nat nodding.
"He's the worst." She said softly and we walked down the path, "Natasha." I hear Alexei call out for her and I snicker, she smacks my bicep. We kept walking hoping to ignore him, "Natasha. Natasha." Alexei says whilst rushing after us and Nat glanced at us.
"Come here, I want to ask you something." I smiled at her as she rolled her eyes at me. We kept walking whilst she slowed down, "Come, it's important." He said as I looked at Yelena and shrugged.
"What?" I hear her ask him, "Did he talk to you about me?" He said softly as they walked towards us. Nat looks at Alexei confused, "What?" She asked once again, "Did he talk to you about me? You know, trading war stories?" He tried to whisper but failed.
"Hmm, it's so quiet." I said to Yelena as she nodded agreeing with me, "Who? What are you talking about?" Nat asked him still confused, "Captain America." Alexei said clenching his jaw as I looked at the ground.
Yelena and I walked further away from them and we looked back at them, "My great adversary in this theater of geopolitical conflict." He said before continuing, "Not so much a nemesis, more like a contemporary, you know? Coequal." I hear him say, rolling my eyes as we continued to walk.
"I always thought there was a great deal of mutual respect..." I hear him as I looked down at the bag in Yelena's hand. "Wait. You haven't seen either one of us in 20 years and you're gonna ask me about you?" Nat said causing us to halt and turn to them.
"What is with this tension?" Alexei said walking to the side as I looked at him, "Did I do something wrong?" He asked towards us, I scoffed at the stupid question. "Is that a serious question?" Yelena asked for me as I glared at him, "Blya, ty brosil nas!" I shouted at him. You fucking left us!
"I only ever loved you girls." He said looking at us as I scoffed looking away from him. "I did my best to make sure you would succeed to achieve your fullest potential, and everything worked out." He said making my blood boil but also made me want to cry out of his ignorance.
"Everything worked out?" Nat asked nodding at him as looked at Nat, "Yes. For you two, yes." He said pointing at Nat and I. I shook my head at him, "We accomplished our mission in Ohio." He said waving his arms around.
"Yelena, you went on to become the greatest child assassin the world has ever known." Alexei ranted walking close to Yelena and looking down at her. "No one can match your efficiency, your ruthlessness." He said smiling at her as she shook her head slightly.
"Larissa, you became the worlds greatest miracle, and working alongside with the Black Viper!" He said stepping towards me as I stepped back, "You were the Red Rooms, Black Rooms and HYDRAs miracle weapon and assassin then becoming an Avenger." He said shaking his head smiling down at me as I felt tears in my eyes and I tried to blink them away.
He turns to look at Nat, "And Natasha, not just a spy, not just toppling regimes, destroying empires from within, but an Avenger." He said looking at her as she looked away and back at him. He took a couple steps back, "You three have killed so many people." He said grabbing Yelena's wrist and my wrist, then looked at Nat.
He shook our wrists, "Your ledgers must be dripping, just gushing red." He said glancing at all of us. He pulled us in for a hug, "I couldn't be more proud of you." He said shaking his head, I got a whiff of mustiness and scrunched my nose at the odor.
I pushed him away, whilst glaring at him and walked away with Nat beside me. We continued to walk forgetting the whole moment that just happened. "So, are we there yet?" Yelena asked him as we walked down the path. "You'll know when we're there." He said looking at Yelena then made pig noises and I looked at him weirdly.
"No but Larissa, I do want to know, why did you mess up the mission?" He asked as I glared at him and the two women looked at me confused. "What?" Nat asked looking at me then at him. "Because I was an idiot and fell in love with HoJin!" I shouted annoyed at all these questions that were being thrown at me.
"HoJin? wait what was the mission?" Yelena asked glancing between us as he opened his mouth to speak but I glared at him. "Shut up old man." I said pointing at him as he got quiet and we continued down a hill. "Here." Alexei said as I got a whiff of animal shit and grimaced.
We walked closer to the chain linked fence, we stopped in front of it as we spotted a familiar woman. I took a glance at her, holding a sniper then looked away. Melina looked at the man she was 'married' to and the three women who were once her little girls. "Honey, we're home." Alexei said to Melina as she was surprised but shook it off.
I looked at her as she walked past us, glancing at us and continued towards the small house. "Come on, girls." Alexei said walking after her and I glanced at Yelena and Nat. I nodded following after him, going down the hill.
Melina opened the door to the house, I walked slowly, looking around the outside of the house, "Welcome to my humble abode." I hear Melina say as we walked in.
"Make yourself at home." She said turning a corner and Nat followed after her. "Let's have a drink." She said sighing as I looked around the home. I walked towards the table where Yelena stood by, smiling towards but it quickly fell as the memories came rushing through.
I sat down across Yelena and soon Alexei disappeared. Nat sat beside me and Melina sitting beside Yelena placing down plastic containers that held food in them. I looked up at Yelena hearing Alexei grunt and I snickered at the noises he make.
"Larissa, don't laugh." Melina said towards me as I gape at her. "What? It's funny!" I exclaimed shaking my head whilst chuckling. "Let's drink." Melina says grabbing the vodka bottle and pouring a shot. I hear a door open and someone clearing their throat.
I put down the shot glass and looked up. I spit out my vodka, seeing Alexei with his hand against the wall, smiling. I looked at him, "It still fits." He said nodding towards the suit on him. Melina wolf whistles at Alexei and I groan at that.
"Oh, my God." Yelena said turning around and looking at me. Alexei begins to laugh as Melina claps at him, "I never washed it once." Melina said shaking her head and Alexei walked towards us.
"Come and drink." Melina said turning around in her seat and looking at Alexei. She smiled at him as he sat down and she poured him a drink. "Rise, you workers of salvation" He said singing and grinning at us as I looked down at the table and up at Yelena.
"Family....back together again." He said smiling, glancing at all of us and I looked at Nat. "Mmm..." I hear Melina say serving herself some food then continued, "Seeing as our family construct was just a calculated ruse that only lasted three years, I don't think that we can use this term anymore, can we?" She said glancing at all of us, trying to get a reaction out of us.
"Agreed. So, here's what's gonna happen..." Nat said to Melina leaning forward before being cut off. "Okay. A reunion then, huh?" Alexei said grabbing a container that sits in front of me.
"And, uh..." He said brushing his hair back looking at Melina, "I want to say something right off the bat." He said lowly as Melina looked at me then towards Alexei.
"You haven't aged a day, huh?" He started as I looked at Alexei, "You're just as beautiful and as supple as the day they staged our marriage." He said lowly as I glanced at Yelena and Nat then looked away disgusted at him.
I took a shot, looking away from then as Yelena and Nat did too, "You got fat." She said back as I grimaced at them. "But still good." She said smirking at him and Alexei chuckled at her.
"I just got out of prison. I, uh..." Alexei said smiling mischievously and glanced at us. "I have a lot of energy." He said towards her as I felt the bile come up and I covered my mouth.
"Oh!" Melina says back as I looked at Nat for help, "Please don't do that." Nat said shaking her head in disgust and looking at them. "So, here's what's gonna happen." Nat said getting back on track as I see Melina looking at Nat.
"Natasha, don't slouch." Melina said annoyed as I looked at her posture then fixed my posture not wanting to get in trouble. "I'm not slouching." Nat says leaning back as I looked at Yelena who also fixed her posture.
"Yes, yes, you are." Melina said nodding her at Nat, "I don't slouch." Nat said moving around, "You're going to get a back hunch." Melina said gesturing with her body as I glanced at Yelena then at them. "Listen to your mother." Alexei said patting Nat's arm as she gape at them.
"Oh, my God, this..." Nat said before getting cut off, "Up, up." Alexei said making his chest puff out. "All right, enough. All of you." Nat said loudly as she looked at Yelena and I. We gape at her, "We didn't say anything. That's not fair." Yelena said looking at Nat as I agreed with her.
"Here's what's gonna happen..." Nat said fed up and looking at Melina as Melina herself snuck food onto Yelena's plate. "I don't want any food." Yelena said looking down at the plate, "Eat a little something, Yelena, for God's sake, you too Larissa." Melina said putting some food on my plate.
"You're gonna tell us the location of the Red Room." Nat finally said looking at Melina as the table finally got quiet. Melina exhaled sharply and nodded whilst placing more food on Yelena's plate and mine, also.
She looked at all of us, "You know, it's like when you told them that they could stay up late to catch Santa Claus." She explained to Alexei and he smiled looking at Melina.
"What? That was fun. You know, 'He come down the chimney, girls.'" He said shaking a bit and looked at us as the lost memory popped up.
"'Look out." He said looking from side to side, "Where is he?'" He said looking at Yelena, "You wait for him, and then when the cookies are gone, then you see he's there." He said nodding as I looked at him weirdly but let him continue.
