Its been 2 days since the incident happened. But despite of that, so many things changed in the camp.
The number of soldiers became less, and the once lively atmosphere was gone.
And Tae can never be used to it, and Bogum was not was same anymore. He rarely smiles now.
He understood why, losing a friend who you’ve grown up with is really hard.
He knew the feeling since he felt like he lost Jimin too because of being in a different era.
And thats not what changed only, a huge changed happened.
The American Captain — Hugo Walker came yesterday, and the General proclaimed him as one of the temporary supervisors of this camp while Jungkook is away.
The trainings became intense because of that, and its just the start of the day but theyre tired already.
It was lunch break, they were in their rooms eating.
But you know, the soldiers still wanted to bring back the happy atmosphere back then. Some of them are starting to laugh and open up again.
But Bogum...he felt new for Tae. He’s been so quiet.
Namjoon caught Tae’s attention, but he did not call him tho — the stares of Namjoon on Seokjin was quite interesting for Tae.
Because maybe, he knew how different a STRAIGHT stares.
“Hey...” he whispered to Bogum who was eating quietly beside him.
He’s still not taking his eyes off Namjoon. “Hmm?” Bogum answered.
“What do you think about Namjoon & Seokjin hyung?” Bogum was quite surprised at Tae’s question.
He looked at him and inspected his expressions. He saw that he was looking at Joon so he looked at him too.
“What do you mean by that?” Bogum asked and Tae thought.
“Do you think Namjoon hyung likes Seokjin hyung?” Tae asked.
The way Namjoon follows Seokjin by his eyes, and the way he randomly smiled when Seokjin is around was too obvious for him.
Or maybe it was just him?
“Like? As a friend?” Tae shook his head. “You know what I meant.”
Bogum took a look again at Namjoon, and thats where he understood what Tae was talking about.
“Are you trying to tell me that Joon hyung has feelings for Seokjin hyung?” He asked.
Tae nodded with a smile, he hit the bulls eye. “Yeah!” He cried.
“I mean look at him, from his eyes you can tell that he’s inlove.” Tae lowkey pointed at Namjoon who was smiling while talking to Seokjin.
“But a guy with a g...” Bogum did not continue what he was gonna say.
Because he should be asking himself that. He liked Taehyung, even if he’s a guy. So why would he ask about that?
Tae realized that things like that aren’t normal here. So he understood why Bogum was quite confused.
“Yeah, I think so.” Bogum changed his answer.
Tae smiled, atleast he had someone to fanboy around. Jimin and him used to do this — watching students around and pinning them onto people that they thought suits them.
Tae sighed with a smile, by looking at Namjoon...does Jungkook look at him like that too?
Who knows? He’s never seen him looking at him, but somewhere in his heart...he knew he does.
“Trainees,” A soldier staff spoke onto the megaphone that echoed through the camp.
“Lieutenant Lee wanted to announce that all of you can take a break for today.”
The soldiers were confused, its just wednesday, why is it their rest day now?
“You can go out, visit your family and anything. But make sure to be back here before tomorrow.” The speaking ended.
Even though theyre confused, some went out the camp and did their businesses.
Some just stayed in the camp and rested or slept, some just practiced their tactics.
Tae planned on just staying in the camp and maybe sleep too. But he was really bothered for Bogum since he looks so down.
And Tae wanted to do something for him to atleast make him smile.
“Hey, get up.” Tae ordered as he stood up.
Bogum looked up with a confused expression. “Why?” He asked, Tae held his arm and pulled him up.
“Come on, we’re going somewhere.” He encouraged and Bogum finally stood up. But he was still dull tho.

“Jajaaaaaan!” Tae said as they stepped right in the wide amusement park.
Bogum looked around. “Arcades...? You’re really a kid, are you?” He joked.
Tae wanted to smack him, but he went with his joke instead. “Yes, I’m a baby.
“My baby?” Bogum asked.
Tae got caught off guard with what he heard, he froze right on his place. “H-Huh?” He asked.
Bogum impishly smiled and shook his head. “Nothing, I asked why we’re here.”
“O-oh, well you see...” Tae cursed himself for stuttering. Gosh, he lost his focus.
“Obviously, were gonna have fun! Lets play games!” He said in a cheering voice.
Bogum smiled a bit and nodded. “Okay.” He got pulled into lots of stalls and rides.
He missed being a child, who’s problems are only about toys and playing.
When Bogum was a kid, he wished to grow up and be an adult because he thought it would be cool and he’ll have a lot of privileges.
But now that he’s an adult, he just wanted to back time and became a kid again.
He hated being mature...so much.
But he also knew, that kids nowadays are experiencing hardships like how adults do. And he’s more than lucky to not experience that as a kid.
“What is this?” Bogum asked as Tae pulled him onto another ride. “Its called drop tower.”
“What does it do?”
They looked up to see how the drop tower works, and just by watching it, Bogum felt nervous already.
Tae felt nervous too, but he wanted to be brave and look cool for now. FOR NOW.
“T-Tae I d-don’t think this is a good idea.” Bogum let out a nervous laugh.
Tae smirked, maybe this will let the the energy in him out. “What do you mean? It looks fun!” Tae cried.
“Hahahaha...” Tae wanted to laugh at Bogum’s nervous laugh. But he’ll just save it for later.
They fell in love — oops! I meant line — and waited for their turn.
They were now in the seats of the ride. And Bogum can already feel his insides shaking.
The drop tower started going up slowly. “Are you scared?” Taehyung asked Bogum who was beside him.
“No, I told you I’m strongAAAAAAAAA!”
Everyone on the ride screamed when the seats dropped immediately.
But Tae couldn’t hold back his laughter since the loudest scream was from Bogum.
“AAAAAAAAHOLYCHICKENSWHATTHEFUCK!”
He was holding tightly onto Tae’s hand who is currently laughing so hard.
“No no no, I getting off stop this!” Bogum cried as soon as the seats are rising up again.
People on the ride with them are also laughing because of his words. “You can’t yet!” Tae said.
They were holding each others hands to release their fears.
“NonononoOAAAAAAAAA!” Bogum screamed again as soon as the seats dropped.
While Tae on the other hand, doesn’t know if he’ll scream of just laugh.
That repeated for no on knows how many. But atleast, it ended.
They went off the seats and Bogum’s legs were shaking.
“Hey, are you okay?” , “Do I look like I’m okay?”
Tae laughed at his answer. His voice was cracking and he was almost tearing up. He looks so traumatized.
“Why are you looking up?” Tae asked when he saw him looking up the sky.
“I think I left my soul up there.”
Tae was laughing so hard that he’s almost crying.
Bogum laughed too, not because of himself, but because of Tae’s laugh. He thinks its funny.
“Why are you laughing?” Tae asked. “I dont know, you were laughing.”
“Whats funny?” , “I don’t know, I think were funny.”
They met each other’s gaze and laughed together. They don’t know whats funny this time, but it gets funnier as they think about why they were laughing.
They rode a few more rides, until its finally sunset. They did not even realize its already 6.
“Hey stand over there.” Tae ordered him while Bogum was busy munching on the grilled meet on stick.
“Why?” He mumbled since his mouth was full.
Bogum stood with the carousel on his background. Tae took out his phone and opened the camera.
“Say kimchi!”
And its just funny since Bogum literally just said the word kimchi. “No, you have to smile.”
“Oh okay.” Bogum fixed his position, “1...2...3...!”
He showed his gummy smile until the camera finally flashed. Tae reviewed the photo and Bogum looks cute.
Bogum went towards him to see the photo but he was so confused to see an unfamiliar thing on Tae’s hand.
“What is that?” Bogum asked. “Oh, this is a cellphone.” Bogum furrowed his brows.
“Its used to take photos.” Tae explained. “Like a daguerreotype?”
Tae was felt familiar of the word, he heard it from somewhere. “Daguerreotype?”
“Yes, its used to take photos too. But its like box...not like that. Where did you get that?”
With that simple question, Tae doesn’t know how to answer.
“U-uh...I just got it from somewhere.” Tae immediately hid the phone on his pocket.
“Lets go, its almost night.” But even tho Tae those already, Bogum couldn’t help but think that he’s lying.
Theres no way he got that from him. Its too advanced.

“Gosh! Its obvious that they like each other, why not just go for it?”
Tae complained while watching Namjoon and Seokjin from beyond.
He in the rooftop with Bogum to watch the sunset, and now their topic went back to Joon and Seokjin.
“Yeah. But I think they’re having difficulties on confessing, I understand cuz I had some guy I like and...shit.”
Tae’s mouth went agape as soon as he heard Bogum slipped on his words.
“Goodness...YOU HAVE A GUY CRUSH?!” Tae cried.
Bogum was cursing himself for being so clumsy. How is he gonna get rid of this?
“Uh, that’s nothing—“ , “No waaaaayyyy! You have to tell me about him! Come on, come on, come on!” Tae encouraged.
Bogum scratched the back of his nape. Well shit, he said.
“There’s nothing special tho... he just smiled with his eyes, his smile is also cute. And you know what? His features are far from real. He looks too beautiful for the world. And besides that, he has a good heart.”
Tae felt happy for him, he really in love.
“Whats his name? I wanna meet him! It really looks like he caught your heart.” Tae teased, and Bogum just smiled.
He really has no idea, does he?”
“I don’t think you can meet him.” , “Why not—“
“Unless you look into a mirror.”
Tae laughed, he thought he was joking. “Why would I look into a...mirror...”
Tae finally realized what he meant. He was frozen in his place, and he doesn’t even know how to react.
“Y-You...like me?” Tae asked, and Bogum nodded. Maybe he had no choice but to say it already.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Tae asked, he was trying to calm his heart.
Bogum chuckled, but it looks painful this time. He was smiling, but his eyes looks so sad.
“How am I gonna have the chance to tell you if all you talk about is Captain?”
Tae felt so bad, is he really that numb?
“You know, I was the one who gave you extra shirt when you got soaked in the mud. I was the one who bought you food one time where you forgot your lunch. I saved you too from the forest. I was giving you all the hints...”
Tae felt a lump on his throat. His heart was breaking, but he knew that Bogum was the one who’s more hurt.
“But all of my efforts were nonesense, because you liked Captain...not me.”
Tae’s eyes were tearing up. How can he hurt someone whos done nothing but love him?
“I’m sorry...” thats all what Tae could say. He was really shocked and speechless.
Bogum giggled, “No, Its not your fault. Its my choice to continue liking you.”
Bogum wiped the tear from Tae’s cheeks. “Don’t cry. Its hurts me.”
And even if Bogum asked him to not cry, that just became the reason for him to burst more.
Because he knew that he can never love him the way Bogum does.
“Can I have your hand?” Tae did not hesitate and placed his hand beside Bogum’s.
He compared their palms. “Your hands look tiny beside mine.” He giggled, he thought its cute.
But Tae was surprised when Bogum suddenly intertwined their fingers. “Just let me hold your hand for five minutes...just for five minutes please...”
Tae didn’tanswer, but he agrees. He held Tae’s hand and placed it right above his chest. His heart was beating so hard.
Love can be beautiful, but can be cruel too. I know one sided love is frustrating, but doesn’t it hurt more when u know that u cant return their love back?
