"And we're here! What should we do first." L/N looks up from her phone closes the map app and looks up at Miyamura.
"We should probably get tickets first." Miyamura answers while looking around at everything in the carnival. The smell of cotton candy is in the air and the ringing of games, as laughs and screams can be heard all around.
"Okay then let's go get them." l/N grabs Miyamura's hand dragging him to the ticket booth. He looks down realizing that he's suddenly moving but he was even more surprised at the fact that his hand was intertwined with l/n's. Is this what friends do? Well if this is what they usually do he was fine with it. In fact, he enjoyed it and could feel his body getting warmer at the contact, it was like he was wrapping himself in a fluffy blanket, he didn't want this newfound feeling to go away. He just smiled to himself as he gets dragged towards the booth.
"Hello, good afternoon. Can I have two tickets please, thank you!" L/n talks to the ticket agent regarding the price of food, the rides, and everything else. Sometimes carnivals can be expensive, she needed to make sure she was getting the best price out of it. As she's speaking she then realizes that her hand was still locked with Miyamura's. She lets go and turns around whispering a sorry to him before turning back to the ticket agent and discussing the tickets.
"Would you like a day pass? That will be $100 per person. This pass will include access to all the rides, a food voucher, and free parking. Or would you like the 2-hour pass? That will be $20 every 2 hours per person but it will exclude a food voucher and free parking." The ticket agent tells this to l/n awaiting a response. "If you need some time to talk to your boyfriend about it that's fine."
"Haha yeah, I'll talk to him about it," L/n responds to the ticket agent before turning around to talk to Miyamura. "I think it would be best if we do the 2-hour pass, and just buy the pass for 4 hours that way we would pay $40 in total. I mean we didn't drive here so there would be no use for a free parking pass, and carnival food kind of sucks. I mean we can just get food after the 4 hours if you're down." She gives this information to Miyamura while looking everywhere but his face. She didn't want to make eye contact with him as she was still kind of recovering from the ticket agent calling Miyamura her boyfriend, she didn't want him to notice that.
"Yeah that sounds good, and I'm down to get food after." He says while also trying to avoid eye contact with l/n as he was also recovering from what the ticket agent had just said. Miyamura l/n's boyfriend? How could the ticket agent see that, I mean they had gotten very close as they only really talked to each other but him being her boyfriend, no. They were just friends. Right?
"Okay, that decides it we'll have two 2-hour pass tickets but instead of having 2 hours could we add 2 more to both passes making it 4 hours in total on both passes." She says hoping the ticket agent caught all of that as it sounded kind of confusing coming out of her mouth.
"Okay, that will be $80 in total. Will you be paying with card or cash?"
"Cash". L/N and Miyamura say this at the same time and look at each other and start laughing at the fact that they said it at the same time. They both set their $40 down as they see the ticket agent taking them and registering their wristband that they'll have to wear for 4 hours.
"Okay here are your two wristbands. They will give you access to all the rides, there will be machines at the entrance of every ride. To enter just hold your wristband toward the scanning machine and when the light turns green you will be able to enter the ride. After 4 hours your wristband will start buzzing indicating that time is up and you will no longer be able to go on any more rides. And when that happens just come back here so we can take the wristbands off and you'll be good. Is that all?" The ticket agent informs them while putting the wristbands on their wrists.
"Yup, that's it!" L/n answers the ticket agent.
"Okay, then you're all set. Have a good day."
"Thank you, you too!"

"So where do you want to go first?" L/N looks up at Miyamura waiting for his response.
"I'm down for whatever you want to do," Miyamura answers waiting for l/n to take him somewhere. He didn't mind where they went as long as it meant that they could have fun together.
"Okay then come on let's go over there." L/n drags Miyamura over to the roller coasters. She takes him to the tallest roller coaster at the fair and drags him to the line. Not seeing the fear in Miyamura's face l/n looks at the line. "Woah there's a lot of people on the line but it won't take long so don't worry." Waiting for Miyamura to say something l/n keeps looking at the line. A minute passes and Miyamura still hasn't said anything so she turns around. "Miyamura why haven't-." She sees the boy's eyes shake back and forth as he eyes down the rollercoaster. "Miyamura are you okay?"
"Huh. Oh yeah, I'm okay." Miyamura returns his gaze towards the floor so that he doesn't have to look back up at the roller coaster. L/n takes her hand and puts it under Miyamura's chin so that his eyes were facing hers. But before she could say something she found herself drowning, drowning in his eyes. The way his eyes glistened and burned into hers, seeping and searching everything about her, as if she was an ocean. Little did she know he was also drowning in hers. Even though they both wanted to continue drowning in each other's eyes l/n retracted her hand.
"Are you scared of roller coasters? Is that why you kept eyeing it up and down? If you don't want to go on it we can get off the line. I promise I won't make fun of you if you do if you're worried about that." L/n was awaiting Miyamura's response she didn't want him to go on the ride if he was scared. Or she didn't want to make it seem like she was pressuring him into going on the ride if anything.
"I don't mean to interrupt your conversation but it's your turn to go on the ride." Before Miyamura could say anything he started walking towards the ride and so did l/n. Until he stopped again after hearing l/n's voice. "Miyamura if you want to get off the ride it's fine you still have a choice before you sit down."
"L/n it's fine I'll get on the ride." Miyamura starts walking towards his seat with L/n right next to him.
"If you say so." L/n sits down right next to Miyamura on the roller coaster. As her seatbelt gets put on she looks over at Miyamura. She sees the tremble in his eyes being reminded of herself whenever she's scared of something. "Come on hold my hand. If you're scared just squeeze my hand. It's magical enough that it'll make your fear go away got it." L/n reassures Miyamura as the ride starts moving.
"Remember to keep your hands in at all times. If you raise your hands at any moment during the ride we will stop the ride so please keep your hands in at all times, thank you and enjoy the ride."
Just like that, the ride was moving. Miyamura looked ahead seeing that they were going up the hill of the rollercoaster. Although he was scared he was less scared knowing that l/n was next to him, that she was holding his hand in case he was scared, that she was just there, there with him. It was at that moment he just felt like saying something, anything really, anything that would affirm his appreciation for her. "Hey l/n I just wanted to say tha-." And before he knew it the roller coaster was going down, the only thing that came out of his mouth afterward was pure screams. L/n looks over as she heard Miyamura saying something but then she just focused on his screams and her hand being squeezed to the max.
"Cute." L/n instantly regretted saying that as she accidentally said it out loud that was until she realized that Miyamura didn't hear anything due to his screams overpowering what she had just said and at that moment she was thankful that Miyamura was scared of roller coasters.

The ride had ended and L/n and Miyamura were both walking out of the exit looking for what to do next. "By the way Miyamura what were you going to say before we got interrupted by the roller coaster going down." L/n raises her eyebrow as she wanted to know what he was going to say.
"Oh, that. I just wanted to say thank you. Thanks for being such a great friend. I know we've only known each other for a couple of weeks but these past few weeks have been so much fun and that's probably because of you." Miyamura looks at l/n and then away after saying that as he's not used to being so expressive.
"Thanks for that. These past few weeks have been amazing and you made them even better Miyamura, I love being friends with you too! Now come on let's go to the next ride." As l/n dragged Miyamura to the next ride they both weren't focused on the fair itself but rather the words that they had just said to each other. Although they had both said they liked being each other's friends something still bothered them.
Friends.
And just like that, the word friend replayed in their mind the rest of the night.

I know I haven't been active for a few months, but I'll try to write some chapters to make up for that. By the way, the next few chapters may be messy as I haven't written in a while.
