Moments make up memories,
Memories make up the past,
The present soon becomes it,
And the future after that.
And yet - we don't appreciate
the moments eating in restaurants;
waiting at the bus stop;
or most importantly, the ones
we spend with people.
It's all a mistake;
And we'll only realize that when they're gone;
when the moment has passed;
when it becomes a memory;
when all that's left is an older me.
