Dream paled at the sight. "Oh, gods, it's them."
"Dream," Techno monotoned, "why are three of the server's most powerful leaders here?"
"The meetings!" the ex-criminal squeaked. Anxious fingers wove into his hair as Dream began to panic. "I- I remember them coming to see me, and we'd talk about-" The man gasped. "Oh, gods, I hope it's not true."
"What? What's not true, Dream?"
With a desperate sort of strength, the man grabbed hold of Techno's cape, and yanked the hybrid down to eye level. "Promise me you won't say anything," Dream pleaded, his voice a harsh whisper. "Promise you won't tell them about Tubbo, and you won't fight Quackity. Promise!"
"Okay, okay," the piglin relented. "I promise. Just remember who's side you're on." Dream released the warrior and gave him a quick nod; he wouldn't let the Blood God down.
"Hello, Dream," a British voice sang. "How lovely it is to see you again." The two prisoners turned to see the three leaders step off the platform to stand in the visitor's lobby.
Dream cleared his throat, and reached over the half-wall to shake Wilbur's hand. "Hello, Wilbur," he greeted. "Quackity. BadBoyHalo."
The men exchanged pleasantries, until the mayor of Las Nevadas paused mid-conversation. "I see you have a new roommate, Dream," he sneered. "How have you two been getting along?"
The ex-criminal shrugged. "It's nothing I can't handle." Techno huffed in contempt, rolling his eyes behind his cellmate's back. Nothing he couldn't handle? Yeah, right. He could overpower Dream any day of the week.
Quackity glared at the Blood God, raising an eyebrow in disapproval. "Is that how you keep your enemies in line, Dream? You're seriously going to let him disrespect you like that?"
The ex-criminal flinched. How had he managed to slip already? He had to cover up his mistake, and fast. "Erhm, that's right, Quackity. I- I mean, no. I'm not going to let him get away with it at all." The man spun on his heel, and with his hands on his hips, he barked, "Go to your corner, slave! I'll deal with you later."
Techno's jaw dropped. The audacity! How dare Dream address him this way?! If it wasn't for their little undercover performance, Techno would have decked the man right then and there. Instead, the piglin clenched his teeth, and walked off without a word.
Quackity burst into raucous laughter. "Look at him- the mighty Technoblade!!"
Wilbur smirked. "Yes, like an errant child being punished for his wrongdoings."
"I agree," BadBoyHalo hummed. "How fun it is to watch a once great hero fall."
It took everything the piglin had to keep himself under control. His shoulders tensed, his hands rolled into fists, but he did not attack anyone. It was a big step for the warrior.
Wilbur waved his hand in nonchalance, regaining the attention of the small group. "We have much more important things to discuss rather than poking fun at our favorite anarchist." Techno grunted in the distance, but the Brit continued. "In order to keep the contents of this meeting secret, we will be speaking in enderman from this point on. Any questions?" When none of the leaders in attendance raised so much as a query, Wilbur smiled. "Very well. Let the meeting begin."
How long will Dream and Techno be able to keep up their act?? And what could this secret meeting be about??
