Dawn was asleep in the back of Carlisle's Mercedes S55 AMG, he and Esme were sat in the front. Edward was in his Volvo C30 with Alice and Jasper, leaving Rosalie and Emmet in the BMW M3.
They had been driving for ten hours and were seven hours from the Denali when Dawn started to wake up "were going" Dawn smiled sleepily at her parents
"We're going to visit some family who is excited to meet you" Esme whispered "go back to sleep we won't be there for several more hours" Dawn nodded and shut her eyes again
Esme picked up her phone and called Forks high "Hello, I am Mrs Cullen, I am calling to let you know that non of the children will be attending for a while as a family member has died so we need to help with the preparations for the funeral" After she hung up she turned to face her husband's gold eyes and smiled slightly
"What's wrong my love"
"What those monsters did to Dawn all those people who were supposed to love and care for her" Esme started dry sobbing the walls of venom behind her eyes "you should have seen the terror in her eyes when she realised it was her biological parents"
Keeping his eyes on the road he planted a kiss on the back of his beautiful wife's hand.
Dawn was still asleep when they pulled up to the house and slept soundly as they laid her down in a bed the Denali's set up for her.
"Thank you for doing this"
"You never explained why you have a child" Kate asked sitting down
"Dawn was in an abusive foster home and several abusive homes before that" Esme took a deep uneeded breath before continuing "we abopted her, she has no knolage of what we are". At the moment Dawn woke up prompting Esme and Carlisle to speed to her side.
Everyone else staid waiting quitly down stairs "there are some people who want to meet you" Esme's soft voice filled the house.
Everyone remained quite as the trimmed girl followed her mum and dad into the living room, "this is your aunte Carmen, your uncle Eleazar and your cousins Tanya, Kate and Irina"
Dawn slowly made her way to each if them giving them all light hugs Carmen was the first to notes a red carnation suddenly appear in her hair, Tanya had a lavinder hycinth, Kate a cobalt blue hycinth and Irina's was deep purple, Eleazar had a red carnation in his lapel
"Dawn do you have a gift" Carmen spoke softly and quietly just as Esme had hoping not to scare the child
"yes" Dawn whispered
