Bucky letting go of his past as the winter soldier slowly but surely yet Someone from the past has a bone to pick with him trying to forget.

So maybe Bucky going on a mission like this alone wasn't the best idea.
It was an undercover mission where he had to pretend to be someone he's not.. He's not been himself for very long so going back to pretending he's someone else didn't come easy for him and well-
"Buck please tell me you didn't just blow your cover" The disappointment in Steve's voice was unsettling seeing as Bucky remembered he used to do that to him. Now was Steve wrong, no, Bucky most definitely blew his cover. Was he going to admit it... also no
"No one noticed, relax Steve. You sound like a mother. I told you I got this so stop it." He lied threw his teeth. He kinda let it slip that he was looking to find someone at this auction ran by old HYDRA inventors. The only problem with that was the whole idea of this place.
It's a masked auction. Meaning no one was supposed to know any names, only numbers
"Great Job Barnes, Steve is never gonna let you go on a mission again" He thought to himself as he attempted to sneak into the hall so he could take a breather.
Being around so many people was different when it was the crazy streets of Brooklyn with yelling from his neighbor, but a cramped room with people who used to torment him. Not a fan
"Not good in crowds?" A woman spoke to him in a soft voice. He looked to her with an awkward smile
"That obvious, huh?" He chuckled as he leaned his head against the wall. He knew why she noticed. He didn't even know himself nor was he ready to play make believe with someone else in mind
"Well only an amateur would blow his cover like that so late into the party." She smirked to herself while scratching her leg.
"Yea that was pretty stu- What did you say-" He didn't have a moment to think before she kissed him.
"What is happening? I'm kissing the pretty lady, I'm dizzy, and I can't see. What is happening now Bucky?" He thought to himself before passing out.
"You make it too easy,Солдат" She said before getting her henchmen to collect his body. (Солдат = Soldier)

Bucky woke up in a dark room, no, he woke up with a bag over his head. He'd never been kidnapped before, this was exactly how it happened in movies that Sam made him watch.
"You're awake. I'm not surprised it didn't last long, you know with the whole super soldier thing." The voice said from a distance, however not just any voice. It was her. The girl, who he now knows, was after him.
"Can we skip the whole bag thing? It makes me feel like a bad guy. I am a bad guy but I don't wanna feel like one, you know? Oh right. You definitely know, my cute little Солдат. You've been trying to become a good guy. How's that working out by the way? I bet you found a new girl and everything. I bet-" she ranted before being cut off
"I thought you said you wanted to skip the bag thing. What's this called? Monologuing? Yeah, can I at least see who's talking to me before I begin shaking in my boots?" Bucky quipped back annoyed that he got captured but more annoyed that he feels like he knows this person. The way she talked had his brain going into overdrive, and she called him by his old name meaning she didn't know him as Bucky so she has to be HYDRA.
She huffed before ripping the bag off his head and chucking it at something behind him. He opened his eyes slowly so he could adjust to the new lighting.
He was in a nice apartment with a skyline view next to him. He turned to look at his abductor when she slapped him across the face.
"Don't interrupt me. It's rude. Who raised you?" She scoffed as she went to grab a chair and sit in front of him. He finally got a chance to see who she was. Her voice, mannerisms, even the way she hit him across the face felt so familiar yet he can't place a name to this person sitting in front of him.
"Stop trying to figure out who I am, it's literally impossible." She grumbled before taking off his gloves, she seemed to hate them since she threw them out the window afterward. She didn't seem to be as upset with him as she was trying to make it seem.
"Can I ask you why I'm here then? I'm sure you know they'll be looking for me." They being the Avengers, but mainly Steve cause he would run across the ocean if it meant his family being safe. He was still trying to figure out who she was but every time he connected a dot it felt like it would disappear.
"You're an Avenger now. It must be nice to have people who care if you live or die. Well, you've always had that but they are especially different because they prioritize the world over themselves. That's what a hero is right? Save a loved one or the world, they always chose the world." She looked away sadly, revealing a scar on her neck.
That's when it hit him.
"Y/N.. The little assistant that helped with my brainwashing back in HYDRA. They had you be part of what I forgot so that they knew it worked but after while they stopped and I remembered you for awhile till.. I tried to forget everything HYDRA did to me." He let out a breath. He couldn't believe it. Of all the people he could've been kidnapped by it was her.
"Didn't I say stop trying to remember who I am." She said with a slap to his face, harder then last time.
"You got that scar from me. One the times I was fighting back. I got a piece of glass and you said something that set me off.. what was it?" He spoke softly so she wouldn't hit him again while he tried to figure out how to get back to Steve and the rest.
"You're trying to escape by making me monologue about our past. I wasn't planning on keeping you anyway. I just.." she paused before looking back at him. The look in her eyes broke him.
They were filled with a sadness similar to his own. He felt whatever she was feeling.
The thought of being alone again. That hurt more than anything.
"I was trying to escape, but I was going to listen. I hurt you when I was the winter soldier, meaning you're part of my amends." He said as he released his hands from the restraints of the chair. He rubbed his flesh hand from the roughness of the ropes.
"It was before HYDRA juiced me up with your super soldier serum. I just didn't have the heart to let them hurt you again, so I tried to step in and calm you down so they would let me be with you again." She paused to collect her thoughts.
"I called you by the name you're friend had called you before you fell from the train car. You paused and threw the glass at me. Then you shut down completely and I was injected with your blood since I apparently need a transfusion in order to tangle with Winter." She got up to get a drink and silently asked Bucky if he wanted one. He declined, incase she was trying to put him to sleep again.
"I see. That means you're as old as me." He said as a question, she nodded.
After a few minutes of silence, he couldn't stand it that she was just drinking wine while having him "kidnapped"
"Why did you kidnap me? We could have talked normally." He questioned. This doesn't seem like a normal way to reconcile with your old pet but he didn't mind since he was getting answers.
"I told you. I am a bad guy but I don't want to feel like one. You know how it was me you were supposed to find tonight?" She spoke out into the distance.
"I felt that if I could get The big bad Winter Soldier back in my hands then I could get rid of the feeling of not want to feel like a bad guy. Stupid right" she chuckled to herself
"I should've thought it threw. I should have noticed when I realized I only stayed with HYDRA so I could see you everyday." She sat back down in front of him.
"What are you saying?" Bucky looked up at her. Trying to find answers in her eyes.
"Do I have to spell it out for you Солдат?"
"Stop calling me that"
"Why? It's who you are."
"No! Not anymore."
She looked betrayed that he said that. The anger that disappeared earlier came back, like a switch went off in her head. She went to slap him again however he caught it this time.
"Why? Why did you leave me behind..?" She whispered as she started to cry.
"I didn't-" He was cut off
"YES YOU DID!" She screamed, freeing herself with a kick.
He was stunned for a second before he got his guard back up. He had to remember she was a super soldier too. That's why he specifically was after her and not Steve or anyone else. HYDRA made her from him and she was in love with him? He can't really tell. He should probably pay attention at the briefings, he probably won't but he really should.
"You said we would leave, together. Then Captain Stars and Stripes came and broke you, broke us. You dropped him in the river and I thought, 'Yay, he'll come back for me.' So I waited, and waited, and waited and waited waited waited waited waited
Wai-ted for about a year for you to come back. You never did. I hoped you'd remember till the scientist told me what they did. If you wanted to remember me, you'd want to remember everything. I was part of your past, you didn't care about me. I was a thing you promised to come back and hurt." Her voiced becoming more and more angry.
Bucky didn't speak. He didn't know how to feel. He left one of his promises unkept and it hurt him that he couldn't remember it for the life of him.
"I loved you at you're worst. Hel, I love you now and this is worse than your worst. You're trying to be someone your not. I can't let that happen, my love." She smiled before standing and resting a hand on his face.
"You will go back to the cute lil Солдат I knew. This shell of a man sitting in front of me pisses me off. Pick one. You can't be an Avenger and go back to who you were before the war. You're still fighting a battle that has nothing to do with you, I'll fix you. I will put you back together. I just need a little time." She sat on his lap giving his ear a tap before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"He's in the skyscraper across the street. The one that the A on your stupid tower reflectson. I'll be back for him, but you can spend time with him for now." She said into it knowing they were listening.
"Я люблю тебя, зимний солдат. Не смей забыть о том, как ты меня предал." She said before the power in the room cut off and on making her disappear before his eyes.
(I love you, Winter Soldier. Don't you dare forget about the way you betrayed me.)
Bucky sat there stunned. What the hell just happened to him? He thought Tony had a crazy love life. Guess he was wrong
"Buck! Are you okay?" Steve rushed in shield in hand. Bucky didn't even look in his direction. Bucky was still having the conflict in his heart about whether or not it was the Winter Soldier or James Barnes who loved that woman.
"Steve.. I think I need to revisit my past some.. before it comes and kidnaps me again.."

She watched from a distance as her love was taken back to his "home"
"You betrayed me. And I know that you'll never feel sorry. For the way I hurt.."
"Don't worry my Солдат. I'll come for you soon. I just need to pay a visit to our new friend Zemo." She giggled before disappearing into the night

And done. Oddly specific but now it's out of my head so I have room for more things
