ELSA POV
"It was hagrid. Hagrid opened the chamber of secrets" harry said
"It can not be hagrid" I said
"We don't even know this tom riddle guy, he sounds like a dirty, rotten snitch to me" ron said as I laughed
"Ok leave it , was he handsome?" I asked
"Yes he was , but he was not your type" harry replied irritated
"Just kidding" I said laughing again
"The monster had killed somebody, elsa. What would any of us had done?" Harry asked going back to his serious mode
"Look hagrid is our friend , why don't we just go and ask him about it?" Anna asked
"That would be a cheerful visit, 'hello hagrid, tell us have you been setting anything mad and hairy loose in the castle lately?' " ron said
"Mad 'n hairy? Yeh wouldn' be talkin' about meh, now, would yeh" suddenly we heard a familiar voice
Hagrid
"No" we said all together
He looked at us suspiciously when harry asked about what he was carrying
Hagrid told all about it , but I didn't hear
Where is hermione??
After hagrid's speech was over we all nodded when suddenly neville came running towards us
"Harry y-you have to c-come with me" neville panted
Harry nodded and went with him as we went to the quiditch place
After sometime harry came running and told us
"Some one came into my room " harry said panting
"He wanted something , and he got it" harry continued
"Tom riddle's diary is gone"
Harry was ready for quidditch when mcgonagall came and announced that the quidditch match is cancelled
"But quidditch match's cannot be cancelled" oliver argued
"It can be " minnie told oliver
"now I want both scamanders , mr. Potter and mr. Weasley to come with me" mcgongall said
We took ron and went with mcgonagall to the hospital wing
"Now this can be a real shock" mcgonagall warned as we all nodded
She opened the curtain of the hospital wing and we came in contact with a petrified hermione with a mirror in her hand
We all gasped as anna and I went towards hermione with tears in our eyes
After sitting with 'mione for sometime harry and ron decided to go to hagrid for some clue
It was night time and ron and harry haven't came back yet
Me and anna were still in the hospital wing with hermione sitting beside her
I held hermione's hand and whispered
"Hope you were here 'mione"
When suddenly I felt something
I looked at the thing and saw it was a note
I took it out of hermione's hand and ordered anna to come forward
Suddenly harry and ron came running into the hospital wing Panting
I ordered them to come here and showed them the note
We got out of the hospital wing and walked through the corridor
"Of many fearsome beasts roam our land but none as deadly the basilisk. Capable of living for hundreads of years. Instant death awaits anyone who meets this giant serpents eye. Spiders flee before it" I read it out loud
"Basilisk is the monster in the chamber" anna said
"Didn't you hear , you will be dead if you look at it in the eye, but everyone is only petrified" ron pointed out
I remembered every incident and finally figured it out
"Because , they didn't see it in the eye , not directly at least" harry and I said at the same time
We looked at each other and nodded
"Collin looked through a camera" harry remembered
"Justin looked through the reflection of sir nicholas , but as sir nicholas is a ghost , he wouldn't die again" I said
"Hermione had a mirror , bet you she was searching for it when she was petrified" harry said
"And mrs. Norris? A cat wouldn't have a camera or a mirror" ron said
I thought for a bit and then said
"There was water on the ground that day , she looked at the reflection of the monster on the water"
"Spiders flee before it , it all fits" anna exclaimed
"But how is the basilisk going around , doesn't anyone see it?" Ron asked
"Hermione has answered that too" I said
"Pipes , it travels through pipes" harry said
"Remember what aragog said, about 50 years ago a girl died, what if she never left?" Harry asked ron
"Moaning myrtle" ron whispered
When we suddenly heard minnie's voice
"All the students are to return to their house dormitories at once. All teachers to the 2nd floor corridor immediately"
We all ran to where minnie had instructed
We reached there and hid behind the wall
"As you can see, the heir of slytherin has left another message" mcgonagall said
"Our greatest fear has been realized, a student has been taken into the chambers " minnie continued
"Students must be sent home. I'm afraid this is the end of hogwarts" minnie said sadly
"So sorry , dozed off. What have I missed?" Asked gilderoy lockhart
"That idiot" I whispered.
"A girl has been snatched by the monster, lockhart. Your moment has finaly came to last" snape said coldly
"My m-mo-moment?" Lockhart stuttered
"Yeah, weren't you saying just last night that you knew all about the entrance of the chamber of secrets" snape said
"It's settled. We'll leave you to deal with the monster gilderoy. Your skills after all , are legendary" minnie said
"Very well , then I will be in my office, getting ready" lockhart said and left
"Who is it the monster has taken minerva?" Asked madam pomfrey
"Ginny weasley" minnie replied as I felt ron clutch my hand
My teachers left and we came out of our hidings
'Her skeleton will lie in the chambers forever'
The wall read
"Ginny" ron said
"Come on lockhart's gonna try and get into the chamber , we could at least tell him what ever we know" harry said as we raced to his office
"As much as I believe he is a fraud and an idiot , we should inform him" I said
