Dudu pointed to the food on the table.

Ye Fan grabbed some dishes and placed them into Dudu’s bowl. Holding his kiddie learning chopsticks, Dudu began eating by himself.

Dudu was sitting quietly with a bib around his neck.

Ye Fan was worried that Dudu would spill something on his sleeves so she helped him roll it up a little.

Dudu placed his fair and tender little arms by the table.

Cheng Ping who was sitting opposite them almost forgot to eat.

Somehow, the three of them looked strange.

Clearly they weren’t a family, but they didn’t look like strangers in the slightest.

Cheng Ping’s eyes moved towards Dudu. She also really liked the way Dudu ate obediently at the table.

“What else would you like to eat, Dudu? Auntie will get it for you.”

Dudu lifted up his face that he was practically buried into his bowl and pointed to the pumpkin chestnut puree on the table.

“Dudu wants that one.”

The chestnut puree was close to neither Ye Fan nor Cheng Ping. Instead, it was placed right in front of He Han.

Ye Fan froze for a moment, but she immediately spoke.

“I’ll get it.”

Ye Fan was just about to stand up but He Han had already extended his hand.

His movements were unhurried as he scooped up a spoonful of chestnut puree and dropped it onto Dudu’s bowl.

“Uncle will help you.”

Dudu remembered what Ye Fan taught him and gave He Han a big smile.

“Thank you, Uncle!”

After that, Dudu buried his head back into his bowl.

Ye Fan peeked at He Han, but she just so happened to meet his eyes.

He Han’s eyes were extremely clear. With his head slightly turned, she could see the sharp lines of his jaw.

The instant Ye Fan looked over, He Han also quirked up his lips at her.

Ye Fan blinked and she quickly turned her head away.

Even after looking down, Ye Fan could still feel a gaze on her.

Even though it wasn’t for long, Ye Fan felt speechless.

He Han looked different from usual today. Ye Fan constantly felt suppressed by his aura.

It was only after He Han moved his gaze away that Ye Fan finally breathed a soft sigh of relief.

Ye Fan didn’t have the mood to eat at all this evening.

After Dudu finished eating, she excused herself.

“It’s getting late, Auntie Chen. I’ll be taking Dudu home.”

Cheng Ping nodded. “Be careful on your way.”

When Cheng Ping went to the door to see Ye Fan off, He Han followed as well.

Before Dudu was carried into the car, he said goodbye to everyone.

He had a very sweet and very polite voice.

“Bye-bye Auntie, Bye-bye Uncle. Thank you for taking care of me today.”

Dudu was simply adorable. Cheng Ping couldn’t help but smile as she waved him goodbye.

Ye Fan also said goodbye to Cheng Ping. “I’m going now, Auntie Cheng.”

Ye Fan was just about to go when Dudu called out to stop her.

“Mama, you haven’t said bye-bye to Uncle yet.”

Dudu lifted his little head to look at Ye Fan.

There was some confusion in his bright black eyes.

His Mama taught him to say bye-bye when he has to part with his friends.

Ye Fan’s movements stalled. She looked up at He Han.

Acting as if nothing was wrong, she smiled at He Han.

“Goodbye, He Han.”

Ye Fan and Dudu returned home.

After making some money, she bought her own car. The car drove smoothly in the dark night and stopped at the parking lot.

Ye Fan looked to the side. Dudu had fallen asleep on the child seat next to her.

Supporting Dudu’s head, she carried him into her arms.

Dudu nuzzled against Ye Fan, smelling his Mama’s scent and feeling calm.

He was muttering softly in a vague voice, shrinking into Ye Fan’s arms.

After going upstairs, Ye Fan carefully put Dudu on the bed and covered him with a small blanket.

She didn’t want to wake Dudu up. It was already late so he must be exhausted.

Ye Fan did not turn on the lights so the room was dark.

A faint light came in through the windows. She looked at the sleeping Dudu on the bed.

***

A lot of emotions were boiling inside of her heart as she tidied up the events that happened today.

She occasionally heard Xiaoxiao mention her uncle, but it never occurred to her that that person could possibly be He Han.

How could there be such a coincidence in this world?

Also, Ye Fan had come to Cheng Ping’s house many times and never ran into He Han, so it was a little strange today.

He Han seemed to be waiting there on purpose just to show her that he and Dudu were getting along well.

How did He Han meet Dudu?

And when did He Han know that Dudu was her child?

And what about the rest? How much does he know?

Ye Fan sighed. There were many questions hovering in her mind that she couldn’t clear.

It all happened so suddenly that she didn’t know how to face He Han.

Tell him the truth? Impossible.

These past few months, Ye Fan had already decided that Dudu was going to be her child alone, and she was going to raise him up well.

He Han is an international Film Emperor. The He family’s industry is huge and it was inevitable for disputes to happen. Even though Dudu liked He Han very much, Ye Fan didn’t want her baby to get involved in those complicated matters.

She wanted him to grow up healthy and live a simple life.

After the National Drama Awards ended, it really sent the netizens in a frenzy.

All the major studios were powered up and they were all competing for the top search spots, trying to put the names of their stars in the front.

“Tang Jin’s beautiful photos”, “Li Qiong Ye Fan”, “Gu Yachen’s spoiled concubine fierce makeup look”…

In an instant, the Weibo hot searches have been dominated.

It was well known that the studio photos of the actresses and the paparazzi shots have been edited. The netizens were all scoffing.

Judging a person’s beauty based on edited photos is nonsense!

However, under the penetrating gaze of the netizens, they found an amazing website.

The images posted to this platform were like a breath of fresh air. It can almost be called a demonic mirror for these actresses.

This website became famous mainly because of the unretouched pictures.

Whoever had poor skin, wrinkles, heavy makeup, everything could be seen at a glance.

A post appeared on a famous gossip forum.

“National Drama Wards unretouched red carpet photos of the female stars. Who do you think is the most beautiful?”

The poster organized the photos comprehensively and posted them all onto the main post.

“Hahaha, Gu Yachen’s look is so exaggerated. Her eyeliner is so heavy, do her eyes not feel bad?”

“Feels like Tang Jin’s skin is in bad shape these days. Even her under eyes and wrinkles have been getting worse. Isn’t an idol like her supposed to take care of her skin?”

“So beautiful. Is Ye Fan a goddess? I declare her the most beautiful one on the red carpet today. Thank you for visiting the mortal realm today.”

“You fans really blow things out of proportion. It’s just a red carpet photo. Are Ye Fan’s paid commenters gathering?”

Some of the commenters below were questioning whether Ye fan’s team was the one who created the post.

They were clearly trying to bring up Ye Fan and step on the other actresses.

Not long after, videos of interviews from the major media platforms came out as well.

After watching a few videos, the netizens found a clue.

A new post appeared.

“Tang Jin and Ye Fan meeting on the red carpet! Have you watched it yet?”

In the video, Tang Jin was walking down the red carpet when Ye Fan and Li Qiong arrived.

The two met on the red carpet. Ye Fan only nodded to Tang Jin but Tang Jin had an awkward look on her face. She didn’t even greet her and just stood there in a daze.

After clicking on the link, they could see the short video clip.

Tang Jin’s behavior was recorded in full by the camera at the side.

It seems that what Tang Jin said about her not having any disagreements with Ye Fan in her usual interviews were false.

***

“Is Tang Jin really so petty? I couldn’t tell. The envy is almost pouring out of the screen hahaha.”

“I feel so bad for Tang Jin! Even though they worked together so many times, isn’t Ye Fan going to give her any face?”

“Who’s the real liar here, can’t you tell? Tang Jin said herself she was on good terms with Li Qiong, but Ye Fan is the one walking the red carpet with her. That’s a slap in her face!”

“Ye Fan and Tang Jin fans, are you going to tear this post apart with your fight?”

The bickering of the fans would go on till tomorrow on the gossip forum.

Especially Tang Jin and Ye Fan. They were like fire and water. The fans may never know who was wrong on the red carpet.

On the other end.

A light was on in the room and a college student sat in front of his laptop.

Ye Li was staring at the computer without looking away, her fingers speedily pressing one key after the other.

She had already been battling online for a long time. Not only were her fingers tired, her throat was getting a little dry too.

Ye Li subconsciously picked up the cup on the table and she took a sip.

However, the cup was long empty. She cursed and stood up.

When Ye Li was pouring herself a cup of water, she saw light pouring through the cracks of the door. The light in the living room was still on.

She walked out of the room and found that Nie Weiru was still awake.

“Mom.” Ye Li casually complained, “Why doesn’t Ye Fan ever come back?”

Just thinking about her allowance made her angry.

Since Ye Fan no longer meddled in the family’s finances, Nie Weiru could only scrape off a bit of her own savings to give to Ye Li.

After all, Nie Weiru squeezed quite a bit of money out of the original Ye Fan previously.

Since childhood, Nie Weiru had always instilled the idea that a mother was most important to the original Ye Fan, but Ye Fan wouldn’t even come home now.

Just thinking about what Ye Fan said previously made her worry for Tang Jin.

Tang Jin and Ye Fan were both in the entertainment industry and have been in frequent contact recently. Will Tang Jin’s identity be revealed one day?

Nie Weiru scolded Ye Li. “Why are you so insensible?”

“Your sister’s a big star now, how can she come home whenever she wants?”

“But she’s not even my real sister.” Ye Li pouted.

Nie Weiru laughed. “How can our pitiful little temple accommodate a great Buddha like her?”

She was tight-lipped and always kept Tang Jin’s matter hidden.

Even if it was her own daughter, Ye Li, she must not break the secret she had been hiding for so many years.

Ye Li did not even expect that Nie Weiru would speak for Ye Fan.

She said impatiently, “Got it, got it.”

Ye Li was pissed. She went back and posted a few more posts about Tang Jin and didn’t forget to write badly about Ye Fan too.

Ye Fan arrived at the studio ready for the day’s scenes.

After her makeup was done, she walked out. When he saw Ye Fan, He Han’s eyes paused.

Ye Fan was going to be wearing shackles on today’s scene. Right now, there were two pairs of black shackles on her wrists and ankles that looked quite heavy.

Even though they were props, they still weren’t so light. Ye Fan had fair and delicate skin. In just a short while, red imprints began to appear on her wrists.

Ye Fan looked at it but it didn’t bother her.

He Han kept on watching Ye Fan and his gaze stopped at her wrists.

The red marks were particularly obvious on her fair skin.

He Han’s eyebrows were knitted into a slight frown.

He turned around and his emotions were hard to decipher.

Today’s part was a scene between her and He Han.

Too much has happened these days. One after another they came, almost disrupting Ye Fan’s plans completely.

She didn’t want Dudu to be exposed, but unexpectedly, Dudu had already met He Han, and the two have been in contact for quite some time.
