The jet landed in what looked to be an old farmyard. The walls of the farmhouse looked like they had collapsed, there was no doors on the barn and the windows were smashed, and the fields were empty, no animals grazing and everything completely overgrown.
Bucky shivered and his heart started racing. He had been here before. But not as Bucky Barnes. The Winter Soldier had been here before.
He remembered it as clear as day, he and HYDRA agents stormed the place. The animals quickly fled the scene, and the family who lived there tried to hide from him, but the Winter Soldier got there. The husband, and who he now assumed was the main farmer, had a shot gun. He fired at Bucky, well, the Winter Soldier, but the bullets bounced off of the protective gear HYDRA had dressed him in. Bucky let him shoot until there were no bullets left, then he killed them. It was a quick death. Afterwards HYDRA used this as a temporary base, hidden away from the rest of the world but abandoned it after a few weeks.
And now they were back.
"You doin' alright, pal?" Steve asked, ready to help out his best friend.
Bucky shivered, the sight of the abandoned farmyard bringing back awful memories of his torn past.
"Yeah." He replied. "We're all good here."
Bucky and Steve ran next to each other, setting the pace for the rest of the team. Tony and Sam flew behind and Nat and the others ran behind the boys.
The HYDRA agents filed out of a building on their left, shooting at them as they did so. Steve managed to block most bullets with his shield, but any that he missed Natasha and Bucky managed to dodge.
"On your left!" Sam shouted to Steve.
Steve turned to his left, and he seen a HYDRA agent running towards him, shooting with two pistols, one in each hand.
Steve hit the guns out of his hand with his shield, and knocked him out with a swift hit to the head.
Bucky shot three HYRDA agents running towards him, which he then had to jump over their bodies as they fell in the direction he was running in.
"Everyone okay?" Steve asks.
Everyone gathers behind a wall, out of view of all of the HYDRA agents and try to form a plan of attack. Bucky couldn't help but think that you would know exactly what to do in this situation. You would know exactly what to do in any situation, in his eyes- that's what made you so perfect.
The team spoke for as long as they could. Tony tried to hack into the security system in the base- and when he did, he caught glimpses of the new Winter Soldier heading out towards where they were currently standing.
Nat was quick to load her gun, and Clint grabbed another arrow- ready to shoot.
"Let's get this bitch." Tony said, lowering his iron man mask, ready to fight.
Bucky and Steve once again walked next to each other, marching in front of everyone else.
"We got this." Bucky said, glancing over to Steve.
"We sure do." He replied.

Your trigger words were spoken, your orders were given and you stormed out to fight.
You seen Steve Rogers first, his bright blue suit was a giveaway. HYDRA had told you about him, he was everything they hated.
You shot towards him, he blocked most bullets with his shield, you quickly noticed this, and planned to use it to take him down. Hand to hand combat managed to knock the shield out of his hands, and now the captain had no backup since everyone else in his team were currently fighting off other HYDRA soldiers emerging from the base where you had came out of only minutes before.
"Just give it up." Steve said, panting.
You said nothing, you just gave another swift punch to his head, making him sway back and forward uneasily.
"Hey metal bitch, catch this!" Tony yelled from above you.
He threw down an explosive in your direction, which you caught in your hand and crushed, dropping the fiery remains on the floor.
"Well, shit." Tony muttered to himself.
You shot up at the iron man, he dodged most of the bullets, but when some did hit they just bounced off of his protective suit.
You turned around again, to face another man. You didn't recognise him from pictures HYDRA had given you, but you knew he wasn't a HYDRA agent, he wasn't wearing the right uniform.
As soon as you faced him, he began to shoot. He had a powerful gun, but you were stronger. You managed to avoid the bullets, one hit your arm and you groaned in pain slightly, but you didn't let it stop fighting.
"Stop at nothing." Was what the HYDRA agents had told you.
You gathered that the man who was shooting at you name was 'Bucky'. He had now given up shooting at you and attempted hand to hand combat, his prosthetic arm doing most of the work.
He gave you some hard punches to the face, but your protective mask managed to limit the pain.
That was until he knocked the mask clean off of your face.
Immediately after he stumbled back, and stopped fighting you.
"You've got to be shitting me." Tony said to himself, looking down at you from above.
"Language, Tony." Steve scolded, before turning and seeing what everyone was looking at. "... Nevermind."
Buckys heart dropped. Out of all of the possible things that could have happened today this is what he least expected. This hadn't even been an option. He didn't know what to say, he just dropped his gun and stood there, paralysed.
"... y/n?" He asked, his throat dry and his hands shaking.
"Who the hell is y/n?"
Steve walked closer to Bucky, slowly so that he didn't startle you, the new Winter Soldier.
"Cat?" He whispered to himself, standing next to Bucky.
You loaded your gun again, ready to shoot, expecting the Avengers to do the same.
"Stop." Bucky blurted out. "I won't fight you, y/n. I can't."
"I don't know who your talking about." You replied.
Blood from the gunshot was still running down your arm, but you ignored it and raised your gun to face Bucky, aiming for his chest.
Steve quickly jumped infront of him, blocking Bucky with his shield.
"Knock her unconscious, Barnes." Tony ordered through the headset. "Then we will get her in the jet and see what Bruce can do with her."
Bucky thought about it for a second before replying to Tony, "I can't." He said, "I can't hurt her-"
"You shot her already, what's the difference?"
Bucky forgot about that. It's true, he had caught you with a bullet to your arm before he knew it was you.
"Fine."
Bucky knew there was nothing else he could do, he swiftly punched you in the head while in combat with Steve, knocking you unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Cat." He said as he picked you up, and carried you to the jet, the other Avengers finished fighting with what was left of the HYDRA soldiers, before everyone took off in the jet, ready to return to the tower.

Bucky kept glancing back at you, strapped into a seat at the back of the jet. Steve sat next to him, comforting his best friend as much as he could.
"I can't believe she's alive." Bucky finally said.
"But she is alive. That's what matters." Steve replied, patting Bucky on the shoulder twice. "And everything is going to be okay."
