Cassidy, feeling the strain of her psychic abilities, delicately wiped her nose. Determination flickered in her eyes as she formed tight fists, summoning the energy needed to propel herself through the small portal. In the blink of an eye, the surroundings shifted, and she found herself standing before an enigmatic cabin.

A keen eye caught a tripwire at her feet. Cassidy, with an exasperated eye roll, gracefully stepped over the wire, her movements reflecting a practiced ease with the supernatural challenges she faced. The air around the cabin hinted at an imminent sense of mystery.

Sensing potential locks barring her way, Cassidy, once again, clenched her fists. The small portal enveloped her, and she emerged elsewhere. This time, however, blood trickled down her nose, a visible consequence of her psychic exertion. Undeterred, Cassidy surveyed her new surroundings, ready to confront whatever awaited her on this intriguing journey.

Abruptly transported into Eleven's presence, Cassidy barely had time to grasp her surroundings before finding herself forcefully pinned against a wall. With closed eyes, she instinctively activated her powers, teleporting into the relative safety of the kitchen.

Regaining composure, Cassidy addressed Eleven, who now stood before her with palpable intensity. "Calm down. I'm like you; I'm not a threat," she implored, raising her hands in a gesture of surrender. The air in the room crackled with tension as Cassidy attempted to convey a shared understanding, hoping to bridge the gap between them and dispel any notion of hostility.

"Who are you?" Eleven's firm inquiry resonated in the room as her hands instinctively positioned for caution.

"I'm Five, but my real name is Cassidy. Cassidy Sinclair. I'm Lucas' twin, I'm a friend of Mike's," Cassidy explained, her voice calm yet carrying the weight of sincerity. The air hung heavy with the need for understanding, as Cassidy sought to bridge the gap, offering her connection to familiar names in an attempt to convey that she came in peace. The room held a palpable tension, awaiting Eleven's response.

Eleven's eyes widened in a mix of surprise and recognition. Slowly, she lowered her hand, and a soft, "Mike?" escaped her lips.

"Yes. This is why I'm here... I came back after being released from the lab," Cassidy began to elaborate, the weight of her words hanging in the air. However, before she could delve into the details, Eleven cut her off. The room hung in a suspended moment, tension building as Eleven processed the revelation, leaving an unspoken connection between them.

"You were released?" Eleven's question came swift, and Cassidy nodded, meeting Eleven's searching gaze. The room was charged with the weight of untold stories.

Eleven's frown deepened, and Cassidy, reading the unspoken troubles, asked gently, "I'm guessing they're still after you?" A shared understanding passed between them as Eleven nodded, confirming the looming threat that persisted.

"Is this why you haven't seen Mike yet? And haven't told him you're alive?" Cassidy probed further, her concern evident. Eleven's response was a somber "Yes," revealing the complex web of emotions and circumstances that kept her hidden.

"Who are you living with?" Cassidy inquired, seeking to unravel more layers. Eleven's brief but significant reply, "Hopper," conveyed not just a living arrangement but a connection to someone who offered protection and support in the face of ongoing challenges.

"Hopper? As in the chief of police?" Cassidy's eyes widened in shock, seeking confirmation in Eleven's nod. The revelation of Eleven's connection to the local chief of police added an unexpected layer to the unfolding narrative.

"Oh my god. I can't tell Mike you're here. You're probably here for safety, and can't be shown to anyone! And I literally looked for you with my own powers! I shouldn't have done that!" Cassidy's self-recrimination echoed in the room as she slapped her head with her palms, grappling with the consequences of her impulsive actions.

"It's okay. I'm glad I'm finally talking to someone other than Hop," Eleven reassured, a faint smile playing on her lips. Cassidy chuckled, realizing the shared weight of their circumstances had forged a unique bond. In that moment, she sensed the potential for a deep and understanding friendship between them, grounded in the challenges they both navigated in their quest for safety and connection.

A persistent knock echoed through the room, jolting both girls into alertness. Eleven turned to Cassidy with urgency, her eyes conveying the gravity of the situation. "Hide!" she whispered-shouted, prompting Cassidy to form fists and vanish into a portal, reappearing in the confines of Eleven's closet.

As Hopper's knock grew louder, Eleven faced the impending inquiry. "El, who were you talking to?" Hopper's concern was evident as he entered the room. "No one," El replied, the lie hanging in the air, both girls acutely aware of the need for secrecy.

Hopper, not easily convinced, pressed further, "Are you sure?" The room held its breath as El maintained the charade, "Yes. It was the TV." Her assurance hung in the air, concealing the hidden presence of Cassidy, who remained silently tucked away, navigating the delicate dance of secrecy in Eleven's world.

Hopper's stern glare bore down on Eleven, and a silent apology resonated in her mind, conveyed through Cassidy's unique connection. Despite the tension, Cassidy remained determined. Forming fists, she teleported in front of Hopper, a bead of blood trickling down her nose—a visible manifestation of her psychic efforts.

The realization dawned on Hopper as he observed Cassidy's abilities, akin to Eleven's. Cassidy stood firmly in front of Eleven, a defender in the face of Hopper's scrutiny. "I found her. It's not her fault," Cassidy asserted, her words carrying a weight that sought to ease the tension in the room. Hopper's gaze shifted between the two girls, navigating the complexities of their shared secret and the unforeseen connection that had come to light.

Hopper sighed heavily, his eyes narrowing with suspicion as he confronted Cassidy. "Aren't you the kid who burnt that classroom three years ago?" he asked, the weight of past events lingering in his gaze.

Cassidy met Hopper's glare with a steady resolve. "Yes. I used my powers for a prank. Brennar found out, made it set up as if I was going to military school, but actually, I was taken to the Lab and experimented on. Dr. Owens released me today," she explained, her words carrying the weight of an unsettling history. The room hung in tense silence as Hopper processed the revelation, his stern expression reflecting the gravity of the situation and the potential impact on Eleven's precarious circumstances.

Cassidy, recognizing Eleven's need for support, gently held her hand as Hopper directed his stern gaze at her. "Why did you look for her?" Hopper questioned, his tone demanding an explanation.

"I'm Mike's friend. He seemed upset, so I wanted to look for her. But after what Eleven told me, I'm not going to tell anyone," Cassidy explained, her words emphasizing her loyalty to Mike and her commitment to keeping Eleven's secret.

Hopper, unmoved, pressed on with a stern warning. "What if there was a reason she didn't tell anyone she was alive still? People are still after her, even though you're out doesn't mean she is safe." His words carried the weight of a protective guardian, cautioning Cassidy about the dangers surrounding Eleven. In response, Cassidy, feeling a twinge of frustration, rolled her eyes, a subtle clash of perspectives adding tension to the room.

"Honestly, if they let me go, I'm pretty sure they don't want to use Eleven," Cassidy retorted, challenging Hopper's assumptions. "I've been talking to these people, seems damn well they still want to use her," she added, her words revealing a deeper insight into the ongoing threats that lingered around Eleven. The room hung in a tense pause, the conflicting perspectives highlighting the complexities of their shared predicament.

"Whatever," Cassidy mumbled with an eye roll, her frustration palpable. "How 'bout this. I won't tell anyone that you're keeping her held captive here, if you let me visit her. Deal?" she proposed, crossing her arms in a gesture of negotiation. Hopper, after a moment, relented. "Fine," he agreed, acknowledging the compromise, and the room's tension eased slightly as an agreement was reached, albeit reluctantly.

Cassidy checked her watch, noting the lateness of the hour. "I have to go now, El. I'll be back tomorrow," she said, giving Eleven a comforting hug, their silent understanding palpable. Eleven nodded in acknowledgment as Cassidy made fists, and with a subtle flash, she teleported back to the Wheeler's basement.

"HOLY SHIT!" Dustin's exclamation echoed through the basement as Cassidy reappeared. "Calm down, moron," she chuckled, playfully teasing Dustin about his reaction. "I thought you went home?" Lucas questioned. "I did. I got bored," Cassidy replied with a mischievous grin, concealing the true reason for her mysterious absence. The air in the basement retained a sense of curiosity and wonder as the group processed the unexpected return.
