After we had are coffee's we left Dad went flying in the helicopter with Terry takeing COSPEC readings i wanted to go but he said No so i just stay and watch the reading on the computers helping Nancy, Greg, Stan and Paul in whatever

Harry and Terry were on a helicopter flying around the mountain check in it out "Let's go down lower and head for that rock formation over there." Says Harry "If i fly during my lunch break, i get overtime"the Dick helicopter pilot said "Just do it." Says Terry the pilot fly over the rock formations then were steam coming out of the rocks "All right, let's just hover here. Okay what you got back there? How's it looking?" "Minimal sulfur dioxide emissions. Nothing to worry about." Terry then check the computers readings "We're green across the board. Harry, there's nothing to indicate there's any kind of activity down here. She's quiet." Says Terry "Yeah.....She's quiet"

Scarlett and Harry went to dinner at Rachel house after Harry finished his job he told Scarlett all he got on the helicopter the She's quiet all Scarlett said was "Dad she might be quiet it for now but she going to sing soon...."

And go like that" she pretend to put the needle through the napkin and pulling it slightly but in reality she was moveing her thump and finger slightly so it look like there was a needle pulling on the napking "It really works." Lauren and Graham went to Bed Harry, Scarlett and Rachel were talking outside well Harry and Rachel while Scarlett was just sitting on the ground watching the night sky "Mmm. I know it's just a little town but I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I grew up here. I went to school here." Says Rachel "Got married here?" Harry asked Rachel let out a sigh
"Yeah. Brian. We were just kids. I haven't heard from him in quite a while. Quite a while. Try six years." "Hmm" "I don't think she'd admit it, but I don't even think Ruth knows where he is." Said Rachel "You seem to be doing okay." Says Harry "Yeah. It was hard at first. Hard for the kids. But we're okay."
"How about you?" That question got Scarlett attention "You ever need married?" Harry shake his head slightly "Never" "Why not?" Asked Rachel slightly confused "Well, for one thing, i move around a lot. Well we. Colombia, Guatemala, the Philippines..." Scarlett continue "Mexico, New Zealand, New Guinea. Wherever there's a volcano with an attitude we go. It makes it hard to settle down." Says Scarlett Rachel look back Harry "You ever come close?" Scarlett continue looking at the moon holding he crystal necklace
Harry nodded "Yes. Once" takeing one drink of his whine glass "Touchy subject." Says Rachel awkwardly "Her name was Marianne Scarlett's mother. We worked together. She loved volcanoes. Fascinated by them. Loved the life. Loved her Daughter." Harry chuckle a bit "One home dinner date and 9 months late we had Scarlett she loved her so much. We were so happy a Happy family" Harry sigh and continued "Four years ago, a volcano erupted in Colombia. Marianne and I thought we had enough time to get out the it was safer of Scarlett come with us. Unfortunately, we were wrong. We got too close to the show. Marianne was killed." Scarlett went to her Dad putting her arms on his shoulder and resting her head on his Harry knew why she was about to cry but she was trying so hard not to.
Rachel felt sorry for Scarlett for both after hearing the story "If this thing blows....and if does a Mount Saint Helens...." Scarlett continue "The blast will get here within a minute" "Well, I hope you're wrong about our volcano, Harry, Scarlett. But if not, I'm grad you two are here" Harry and Scarlett smile

Rachel was on her way to the motel to visit and bring them some coffee she was practicing how to greet them "Hi, Harry, Scarlett. *sigh* Hello. Hello, Harry. Hello Scarlett" packing her car and careful taking the the coffee she bought to everyone
Inside everyone was working. Scarlett too helping her Dad and everyone "I've found five seismometers. Where's the other three?" Asked Stan "They're in the back of the van" Says Paul. Then Rachel came in "Good morning. Hi. Hello." Harry and Scarlett turned to her "Hi. Hello. How are you? Everyone, this is Rachel Wando, the mayor of the town." Says Harry

"I thought you could use some coffee. Not knowing what you like, I brought cappuccino, except for you and a latte, right?" Said Rachel handing Harry his coffee and then Scarlett's "That's perfect. Thank you very much" Says Harry "Yeah thank you Rachel." She nodded and staring to hand everyone a coffee Greg was following her "I am jonesing. I could really use a good fix. What kind of coffee machine do you use?" Greg asked her "Gaggia"

Harry, Terry and Stan were installing a seismometer in the mountain while Scarlett stand at the motel "Nice women, that Rachel. Best looking mayor I've ever seen." Terry says

"So how was dinner last night, Harry?" Harry look at him "Terry, why don't you just give it a break and stop trying to fix me up, eh?" Unknowingly to them Scarlett was heading them on the radio the she grab her dad "I have great taste in women. Have i ever steered you wrong?" "Yeah? What about Astrid?" "Macchiato." Handing Stan his coffee "Thank you."
She goes to Terry "Double-espresso." "Here. Ah, thank you, Rachel" Then Greg came Rachel already knew she handled Greg his to coffee "Oh, tyank you so much." He went back inside "So, how's it looking?" Says Rachel "We're been recording between 25 and 75 earthquakes per day." Says Nancy "You're kidding!" Says Rachel
"Don't worry, they're microquakes. They happen all the time." Stan says to her "Oh. Well, good. And what's this?" She said referring to Spider legs "This little puppy's called Spider Legs" Harry Started "She goes in when it's too dangerous for us" Scarlett finished saying "Boldly goes, i might add" "Actually, we'll take gas reading up front and then, we'll send vides back here to home base. Hopefully" says Terry
Inside Paul and Greg were having problems with Spider Legs controls "Good. Now try to keep the weight on the one. See what I'm saying? Keep the weight on this..."

"The other one isn't moving?" Paul asked Greg flip the controls the one leg wasn't moveing. Paul got up and went outside "What's the problem now?" Asked Paul "There's no problem. *kicks Spider legs* "If this keeps screwing up, i don't want to take it up there." Said Paul "Paul, the problem is ELF here. Alright look I'm going to fix this once and fot all. Everybody, turn around. Turn around." Terry went to uninstall ELF he grab it and put it on the table "Just be sure to put the thing back on before NASA finds out" Says Paul "It'll be our little secret. So, big guy? Inside with Greg
"Yeah. Big boy's definitely ready to see the sight" Greg move the controls up and down makeing Spider legs look like he's nodding
Back outside
Scarlett chuckle "Yes, you are. Yes, you are." Says Terry petting Spider Legs Harry cleans his throat Scarlett knew and grab Terry coffee "Come on, Terry. Time for your medication" Said Harry Scarlett handed Terry his coffee "Ah, thank you"
Scarlett POV
Dad and Terry went up the mountain with Spider Leg. Dad made me stand back that the motel i said yes but if only ye have my radio on the whole time we were watch Spider legs camera "You guys see this? You see this? I expect apologies and six-packs from each of you" Terry said through the radio "You want a medal because you got it to work okay?" I chuckle a bit "Okay, Paul? Okay? It's working beautifully. It ought to be working better. It lost 15 pounds of ugly fat." I heard Terry said through the radio "Zoom in to the left" Paul said "Zooming in"Says Greg "We got some minor geothermal activity there on the edge of the crater" Says Paul it gradding my attention "Pan to the right a little bit. I want to have a look at the lave dome" The Camera turn to the lave dome but then the it stop moving "Terry's masterpiece is a piece a junk. Show me the leg that isn't working" Says Paul the camera move and it show the leg the wasn't moving.
"Houston, wr have a problem."
"Yeah, we copy. You have a problem" i grab my radio "Dad can you throw rock that it? For me please" i heard my Dad chuckle "Already on it"
"Terry's going Down. Do you hear me?"
"You're coming in crystal clear" Says Paul Greg move the camera to see Paul coming down but he step on some rock and they fall hitting Spider legs "This isn't a smart idea"Says Greg "I agree" i said worried
"All right?"
"Yeah"
I grad my radio "Dad tell Terry to get up this isn't a smart idea" i walk over the seismometer reading on the computer "Listen, uh... Terry, why don't we just forget Spider Legs for now and get you backside back up here, okay?"
"Not a chance. For the 450,000 we put into this beast, it ought to be able to stand on its head, split the atom, and fart "The star-Spangled Banner."
Paul, Greg and Stan chuckle i didn't i was still worried
No one's POV
"Almost there" i camera move yo Terry coming next to Spider Legs "Hello, you son of a bitch!" Terry starter to kick it "That's his answer to everything. Kick it if doesn't work" Said Paul "Get you ass back up, now" Said Harry "Not a chance. I'm going off the rope." Says Terry
"No, Terry. That's not a great idea." Says Paul "it's okay. I can get this thing going. But i tell you, i would swear this thing's purposefully trying to piss me off! You know what, harry? It's working"
Then a beeping sound was heard from the computer Scarlett was the first one to check it out "Uh... Guys, something is going on" she said Nancy came to her side "There's some seismic activity" said Nancy. Paul came to there side "What you think Stan, Scarlett?" "They're minor quakes." "But they're right in the middle of it." Said Scarlett "Well should tell them to call it a day."
"Harry, can you hear me?"
"Come on!"
"I didn't get you. Say it again" said Harry but then the ground start to shake rumbling rocks came Terry's way he quickly got down and cover his neck
"Oh, my God!" Said Paul running to the camera of Spider Legs. Scarlett cover her mouth "Oh God!"
"Terry!"
"Terry! Talk to me!" Yelled Harry coming down to Terry rescue
Inside the motel
"Terry! Terry, can you hear us?"
Back with Harry
"Terry! I'm coming down!"
"Harry!"
"It's okay. It's okay. Where are you?"
"It's my leg"
"Paul, come in."
"We can hear you. Go ahead."
Inside the motel
"Okay, Terry's down. He's got a broken leg, by the looks of it here. We need the chopper down here fast. Do you hear me?"
"We copy. Terry broke his leg. We're sending chopper right away." Stan went and call the chopper
Back with Harry
"They're sending the chopper right now"
Inside the motel
"I can't believe the camera's still working after all that" said Greg "Come on, answer the phone! Come on!" Said Stan. Scarlett and Nancy were still worried camera show harry freeing Terry legs from the rocks
"What? Look. Alright, hang on a second, okay?"
"Paul, the son-of-a-bitch pilot wants to renegotiate his rate." Says Stan "You got to be fucking joking" "Just give him whatever he wants"
Later
After the helicopter rescue Terry and Harry a ambulance took him "You got him?" Asked Greg "Yeah, i got him"
"Great job, Harry" said Paul "I don't want to talk out of turn, but you should put this town on alert. There's a hell of lot activity up there." Says Harry
"I know it was intense, but i don't want to cause panic over minor tectonic quakes."
"Minor?"
"The biggest one we measured was 2.9..."
I don't give a damn if it was 1.1...Those quakes were shallow. Damn shallow. I was up there. I felt them."
"Harry..."
"They weren't tectonic. They were magmatic. This thing is going to blow"
"I'm warning you. I'm not going to have my people scaring everyone because of guesswork and hunches!" Another 48 hours will tell the tale. You, get a grip."
"Dad!" Scarlett came running to her Dad hugging him "Am okay, am okay. Don't worry" "Those quake are they really magmatic?" She asked "Yes they are... Scarlett your right she's going to blow soon" "
Scarlett let go of her Dad and look that the volcano "Dad i think she's playing if us" "It is" Harry look the way Paul went "That son of a bitch" Scarlett look that her Dad "I'm okay."
"No your right....That son of a bicth just wouldn't believe in us"

"My doc says i can leave as soon as they make sure my head's okay."
"Okay, see you in ten years, then" Nancy says
"Ow,ow"
"I think Spider Legs was just getting even with you for all the kicks in the butt you gave him" Nancy says
Scarlett and Harry were in deep thoughts "We got a problem here, guys. I'll need your help to convince Paul that this mountain means business.
"Well, Harry, Scarlett, i hate to agree with Paul, but there's no real evidence to suggest that anything weird is going on up there."
"Just like Mount Bakerback in the '70s."

"Scarlett already knows this but my ninth grade science teacher once told me that if you put a frog in boiling water, it'll jump right out. But if you put it in cold water and heat it up gradually.....it'll just sit there and slowly boil to death."
"What's that Harry, your recipe for frog soup?" Said Nancy
"No..." Everyone's attention turn to Scarlett "It's his recipe for a disaster...if we got here today, we'd know we were in hot water and we'd put this town on alet."
