crossed my mind
this morning
as the mid-semester
tests
draw to a close
and sleepless nights
fade to
nonexistence
your break is almost
over
and mine is just about to
start
i feel like we're
desynchronized
we're moving, living
but we're on
two different timelines

i like falling for people
who live far away
i tell myself that it's because
i want what i can't have
or because i
look for love in everything
but really it's because
it's better that way
i won't get too attached

glued
to the idea of you

and it's hard to feel
connected

bridge distances
but nothing's ever taught me
how to reach through time

i'm just saying that
i'm afraid of that
because if we're living in
parallel
