Peter got off his bed, leaving his phone in his room, and went to the door of the apartment. May was making meatloaf in the kitchen. Peter opened the door revealing Flash on the other side. "Hey" Peter greeted and opened the door more so Flash could enter the apartment.
"Hey, uh thanks for letting me come over." Flash said once he was inside and Peter shut the door.
"No prob, did you wanna go to my room or..?" Peter asked anxiously.
"I was kinda hoping we could go for a walk or something and talk? Like outside?" Flash answered.
Peter looked over at May who was eavesdropping, May nodded and Peter focused his attention back to Flash. "Uh yeah, let me just grab my phone and put my shoes on quick." Peter responded and went to his room. He grabbed his phone off the bed and his shoes and a hoodie out of the closet. He pulled the grey Iron-Man hoodie over his shoulders and then put on his shoes, being quick to tie them. Then he left the room and went back to the entryway. "We'll be back in a bit May!" Peter called to his Aunt as he opened the door for the two to leave. Peter closed the door behind them and the two walked in silence until they got outside of the apartment building. It was 7pm and getting dark out already, the sunset probably being halfway done.
They walked down the sidewalk for a bit before someone broke the silence. "So, what'd you want to talk about?" Peter asked as the two walked further.
Flash's gaze was focused on the ground, he took a deep breath, "Tell him. It's what you came here to do. Just TELL HIM." He yelled at himself in his thoughts. Then he looked forward, and then at Peter. "You're gonna hate me..." He started, stalling as he tried to find the right words.
Peter looked at him, puzzled, not knowing where he was going with this. "Flash, you bullied me all through middle school when I moved here, and only just let off the last month of 8th grade, and now you're being nice and sticking up for me, I hated you through middle school.." Peter said but was cut off.
"But now?" Flash asked wanting to know if Peter's opinion of him had changed.
"I don't know Flash." Peter answered.
The two were now probably 4 blocks away from the apartment and still going. "I'm sorry I treated you like that..." Flash said, his gaze back to the ground. "It had nothing to do with you, I was going through some stuff, and it was easier to treat you like shit than admit what was actually going on... which of course is no excuse for how I treated you, and my reasoning makes absolutley no sense."
"What are you getting at Flash?" Peter asked, and Flash stopped walking and so did Peter. The two stood across from each other in the middle of the sidewalk. It wasn't as busy as it would've been during the day but there still were people walking around them. Flash looked Peter in the eyes and his face softened.
Flash stepped closer to Peter, he placed his right hand on Peter's cheek and his left on his neck and pulled Peter closer to him, kissing him. Safe to say, that night didn't go like either of them had planned.
Peter pulled out a second after, but still stayed close. Flash put his hands on Peter's forearms and Peter did the same. Neither walked away, they just stood there looking into each others eyes. "Flash I-" Peter started but stopped not knowing what to say.
"Peter, I like you. I finally admitted it to myself at the end of last year, I know you probably don't like me back, hell I'd be surprised if you did."
Peter was frozen, caught in between his emotions. Truthfully he didn't know if he liked Flash back or not so he just stood there, in Flash's arms, in shock, not saying anything. Peter's silence was killing Flash as his face defalted into a slight frown. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have-" But he was cut off by Peter kissing him. It was a quick kiss, but one that gave both teens closure.
"Give me a few days okay?" Peter asked.
"All the time you need." Flash answered with a smile and Peter returned the smile.
"Okay." Peter beamed and pulled out of Flash's arms and the two headed back to Peter's apartment for dinner, holding hands as they walked.
