Chapter Two: The Vanishing Glass

(Nearly ten years ... different-colored bonnets)

Many people started laughing.

Fred and George actually fell off their seats in their laughter.

Many teachers also had small smiles on their faces.

(-- but Dudley Dursley ... the house, too.)

"WHAT?!" Molly screamed again.

"You might want to use a low-level silencing charm." Harry told Remus. "There are many things that people will not like."

(Yet Harry Potter ... of the day.)

Snape winced, having firsthand experience on how loud she was.

("Up! Get up! ... motorcycle in it.)

"That was a memory, mate." Ron said.

"I know that." Harry said.

(He had a ... one of them,)

Ron shuddered.

(Put them ... used to spiders,)

Ron shuddered again.

(Because the cupboard ... full of them,)

"What does that have to do with anything?" Remus asked suspiciously.

(And that ... he slept.)

"WHAT?!" Many people screamed, but Molly's voice was the loudest.

Remus was glad he took Harry's advice and put a mild silencing charm on his ears. Remus was, also, growling, very loudly, sounding much like he did on the full moon.

Sirius was also growling, looking as angry as a dog could look.

Many people were looking downright murderous.

Dumbledore looked angrier than anyone had ever seen.

McGonagall had an angry look in her eyes making many people move backwards in instinct.

'What?! That's impossible!' Snape thought.

That one sentence had changed his entire view of the world.

(When he was ... the new computer)

"What?" many people asked.

"A muggle device that can do many things." A Ravenclaw muggleborn said.

(He wanted ... second television)

"A second what?" Arthur asked.

"A box in which videos are played." Hermione explained to the red head.

(And the racing bike.)

"It's a muggle thing used to travel from one place to another, with 2 wheels, that move when someone pedals them, if anyone wants to know." Colin explained.

(Exactly why Dudley ... involved punching somebody.)

"Don't let this mean what I think it means" Remus pleaded to no one.

(Dudley's favorite ... was Harry,)

"NOOO!!" Remus yelled.

"WHAT?!" Molly yelled for the 4th time that day.

(But he ... very fast.)

Remus let out a sigh of relief.

(Perhaps it had ... for his age.)

"No, it's the genes. Lily was short for her age." Remus said.

(He looked even ... clothes of Dudley's,)

"WHAT?!"

This time it was Hermione who yelled.

(And Dudley was ... on the nose.)

Sirius growled, loudly.

(The only thing ... bolt of lightning.)

"You liked it?" Ron asked completely surprised that his friend actually liked the damn thing.

"That was before I knew how I got it." Harry said.

"You didn't know how you got the scar?" Ginny asked completely bewildered.

"Yeah. Hagrid told me."

"WHAT?!" Both Hermione and Molly yelled at the same time.

(He had had ... your parents died,")

"She told you lies?! About James and Lily's deaths!" Remus all but yelled.

"Yeah." Harry said.

Remus just growled, along with Sirius.

(she had ... ask questions. ")

"How will he learn?" Hermione shrieked. The thought of not asking questions was like a nightmare to the bushy haired girl.

"Is that why you don't ask us questions in class." Flitwick asked.

At Harry's nod he said, "You know that you can."

"I know. It's just a habit."

(Don't ask questions ... a morning greeting.)

"Not gonna work." Fred, or George said.

"Yeah, James never managed to tame his hair, and his father had created Sleekeazy's hair potion." Remus said.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Yeah. Fleamont Potter, your grandfather created Sleekeazy's. It made the Potter profits increase by a third." Hermione said.

"How do you know that?" Ron asked.

"I read."

(About once a ... over the place.)

"True." The twins said together.

(Harry was frying ... pig in a wig.)
The twins fell off their chairs laughing, again.

"You should apologize." Luna said.

Many people looked at her in confusion.

"That wasn't nice.... To the pig." Luna said.

Many people laughed.

(Harry put the ... last year. ")

"I don't get that many." Malfoy muttered. "And they call me spoilt."

("Darling, you haven't ... the table over.)

"How often does that happen?" Remus asked.

"About twice a month." Harry said absent mindedly.

(Aunt Petunia obviously ... like hard work.)

"It is." Harry said. "For someone like him."

Laughter was heard around the hall.

(Finally, he ... thirty. . . thirty. . . ")

"He doesn't know how to count." Ron said, and then fell over laughing. "Has he learned to count till 100?"

"No." Harry said.
("Thirty-nine, sweetums," ... Dudley's hair.)

"How dare he encourage that?!" Molly yelled.

(At that ... remote control airplane,)

"It's a miniature airplane controlled by a remote." Hermione said.

"A what exactly is an airplane? We're all not born in the muggle world like you." Blaise Zabini from Slytherin asked.

"A flying muggle device that muggles use to travel from one place to another." Justin Finch-Fletchley from Hufflepuff said.

(Sixteen ... games,)

"Game played on a computer." A 2nd year muggleborn said.

"We got that from the name." Fred said.

(And ... VCR.)

"What?"

"A videocassette recorder."

Many purebloods weren't even sure what that meant.

(He was ripping ... and Tufty again.)

Many people around the hall laughed at the silly names.

("We could phone ... swallowed a lemon.)

"She always looks like that." Harry said, making Ron snicker.

("And come back ... house," said Harry,)

"Yeah. You won't, cause that's Fred and George's job." Ginny said while her twin brothers had faces of protest.

"I've lost count how many times we had to fix their part of the Burrow." Arthur sighed.

(But they weren't ... in the car. . . ")

"He could get a heatstroke." Hermione cried.

("That car's new, ... in it alone. . . ")

Hermione sighed a sigh of relief.

(Dudley began to ... wanted. "Dinky Duddydums,)

The twins fell out of their seats laughing for the 3rd time that day.

"The nicknames get better as the story goes on." Harry told them.

(don't cry, Mummy ... cry at once.)

"Yeah, can't cry in front of your friend." Ron said.

(Half an hour ... said Harry, "honestly. . . ")

"You jinxed it mate." Ron said.

(But Uncle Vernon ... happened around Harry)

"That's your accidental magic, Mr. Potter" McGonagall said.

"I know now."

(And it ... that horrible scar. ")

Many people started laughing at the mental image.

(Dudley had laughed ... orange puff balls).)

Many girls shuddered at the thought of such an abomination of fashion.

(The harder she ... on the chimney.)

"That's very powerful magic, especially for someone that age." Flitwick said impressed.

"I'm still not sure whether I apparated or flew." Harry said.

(The Dursleys had ... in mid-jump.)

Malfoy said, "It was magic, Potter."

"I didn't know then."

(But today, nothing ... to go wrong.)

"You jinxed it again." Ron said.

"I know."

(It was even ... it was motorcycles.)

Sirius growled. He rather liked motorcycles.

'That is the understatement of the century' He thought.

(". . . roaring along like ... get dangerous ideas.)

"He doesn't need dreams or cartoons to give him dangerous ideas. He gets many of them on his own." Hermione said exasperated.

Remus looked at them suspiciously wondering what dangerous ideas they had, and how many they had actually done.

(It was a very ... it wasn't blond.)

"Apologize." Luna said. "Now."

"You're right. It wasn't nice to the gorilla."

(Harry had the ... It winked.)

"How?" Hermione asked. "Snakes don't have eyelids."

"Magic?" Harry replied.

(Harry stared. ... been to Brazil?")

"You told us that a snake said it had never been to Brazil in 2nd year." Ron said suddenly, remembering.

Hermione was surprised that he had actually remembered that. Even she had forgotten that piece of information.

(As the snake ... as he could.)

"Not very fast you know." Harry said.

"Waddling, not running, brother of mine." George said.

"Indeed, my less handsome brother." Fred replied.

("Out of the ... howls of horror.)

Many people were off their seats in anticipation. They wanted to know what happened to the 'pig in a wig' and his friend.

(Harry sat up ... tank had vanished.)

Many people laughed.

"Wow." McGonagall said. "That's very advanced and powerful magic."

(The great snake ... Thanksss, amigo. ")

"You're a Parselmouth!" Remus exclaimed shocked.

Everyone except the 4th years onward and the teachers, barring Umbridge, were surprised as well.

(The keeper of ... weren't you, Harry?")

Many people groaned.

(Uncle Vernon waited ... stay -- no meals,")

"You were starved?!" Remus exclaimed.

"That was nothing. The summer before 2nd year was starvation."

Many people dreaded for their earbuds when they read the 2nd book.

(Before he ... for some food.)

"WHAT!?"

No one was surprised who it came from. The red head was fuming muttering about how starvation was not proper punishment.

(He'd lived with ... on his forehead.)

"You remember THAT?!" Remus exclaimed, surprised at his memory.

(This, he supposed, ... in the house.)

"WHAT?!" Remus yelled this time. The 3rd years and above were surprised to see their usually calm ex-professor so angry.

(When he had ... a closer look.)

"Apparition comes in handy, sometimes." Dumbledore said merrily, his eyes however were not twinkling like usual. People could see he was less than happy with the information revealed.

(At school, ... with Dudley's gang.)
